Hey, gun nuts!

Sometimes, bigger is better.......
Says the guy with four shotguns. I dunno.
I think we can all be adults and realize that we are talking about common weapons one might carry on his person, and not a license to buy a B-52 with a B83 on board.

Can we? I doubt the founders would have made any such distinction. As I said, if I wanted to own a cannon in 1773, no one would have thought it was illegal. But we still need to draw a line somewhere. Where? You tell me.

You could have been a privateer, as long as you were on the right side.

I will say, that a lot of cannons were owned by store keepers in those days, and the founders did leave in the hands of the people, the means to defeat the most powerful military on Earth at the time. That ought to say something. :)
That's my point. By that logic, I get to build a nuke in my basement.

You also needed papers for that, though.

How about this gun nut?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/31/us-guns-texas-odd-idUSTRE79U3JN20111031

(Reuters) - A central Texas gun dealer ran radio ads advising "Socialist" liberals, those who voted for President Barack Obama, Arabs and Muslims that they need not apply for his concealed gun license class.

Crockett Keller, who owns Keller's Riverside Store, ran the ads on the radio station in his rural hometown of Mason, Texas, which is 120 miles west of the state capital of Austin.

"If you are a Socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class," Keller said in the ad. "You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under the law."

"Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab, or Muslim, I will not teach you the class," Keller said in the radio ad.

You skipped right over the ad for the golf balls.

I've already got enough balls.

Thanks, though. When I have the free cash and am ready to buy, I may hire you as my agent. You've impressed me with your knowledge and sensible attitude.

That's me, mr. Sensible!

I am good at finding and remembering details about deals. It's in my nature.

I'd wager that the .30 is a Ruger ranch rifle in 7.62x39. If it's a M1 Carbine, it's grossly underpriced any more, unless it's spent the last several years under water.

I'm not sure how a .30 cal could transform into 7.62x39...
;)

Seven six two = .30 caliber. Calibre, too.

Nonetheless, you don't have a constitutional right to drive a car. You do have a constitutional right to bear arms, and the Constitution doesn't limit where the right might be exercised. As I recall it wasn't against the law to show up armed in the state capitol here in California until a gang of Black Panthers did so in a threatening manner in the 60s.

As you re-call, huh?

Do you also re-call the call to arms from the right wing to pass gun control laws because of fear of an armed black insurrection?

Did you stand up for the right to bear arms at that time, for the Black Panthers?

Please let me know.

Wait for it...

:D

.30 cal is a carbine round.

.308 (7.62 x 51) is a rifle round

7.26 x 54 is a different rifle round

7.62 x 39 is yet another different rifle round.

None of them are remotely similar.

. . . and there is the 7.62 Tokarev, and the 7.62x63 which you may know as the .30-'06, and so on . . . and every single one of them is thirty caliber . . . which makes them all very similar.

Admit it, the advert is vague.

Explain the difference between a rifle and a carbine lil chihuahua.

Ignorant? I've probably forgotten more about this subject than you'll ever know. You ever heard of the M2 .30 cal Ball round? The M14, M22, M25, M72, all .30 cal designated rounds, all rifle rounds. Dummy!

That last is a lie, I never said it.

Yes yes, you're a firearms "professional".

And no, it's not a lie, you thought you could re-load 22LR.

It is vague, but I've never heard anyone refer to any of the rounds we've mentioned here as .30 cal

To me, that's fairly specific, and refers to a round generally shot out of a fairly specific gun.

One that's definitely worth a call on for $300.

When you reload, you learn all sorts of trivia.

So are you measuring the width of the bullet then?

All of those rounds I mentioned are designated as .30 Cal by the government.

Fucking liar, show me.

So all of a sudden, you put your trust in the government, huh?

;)

I'm not going to sift through hundreds of your inane posts to prove a point to you.

You believed it. You can back up on it like you back up on koalabear's cock if you want, but I could care less.
