I like both. I want to get a claymore and a rapier, just haven't gotten to it. Ive been thinking about taking the sabre out and doing the drills as a form of exercise. A section of my artillery manual covers saber drills for mounted and non mounted troops. I'd love to learn the katana, but I'm afraid if I hit a pumpkin or somethin ill bend the blade.
In my perfect world, I'd have nice repros of a whole bunch of classic swords, claymore and rapier among them, of course. I don't think you need to worry about a decent katana bending on a pumpkin. They slice through armor and stuff pretty well.
