Yup, that's why I bought the XDS. I'll get around to squaring away the PPK someday. I still like it, and it's comfortable for carry.

I really only ever carried for protection when I had large checks or cash, or when on road trips. I have gone places in cities all over this country where I guarantee the vast majority of people on this board would shit their pants, and more times than not, I was un-armed.
I've also never gotten any complaints about my penis, except for the troll on here that made a post about it a few years back.

Tried that. The ramp is like glass, polished with Flitz and cleaned often. She don't like cheap ball. The one ammo she seems to gobble is brass JHP. Which is cool, if I had a reliable supply. I think it's a slightly hot load, given the report and recoil, which makes it even better for carry purposes.

How old is your recoil spring? Try replacing that and seeing if it helps.

Not very, in terms of rounds fired, but I may try that. She's blowback, so she needs a stiff spring. I really like the gun, so I wish I could find a way to make her sing. This XDS is a workhorse, shoots great, etc, but I have no affection for it. It just feels...ugly and violent, if that makes sense. No elegance, no subtlety. A blunt instrument. A truck.

I shot horribly my last time out, but so did everyone else, so I'm blaming the wind and whatever other excuses all the other people had.
That was an intelligent statement. Only morons think guns are phallus replacements.
The wind is awesome as an excuse. I missed Station 7 doubles when the high bird landed before it got to the low house. Try hitting that one.

Oh, I know, Kbear, believe me. I damn near bought an LCR in .357 today. I still want a full-frame, four-incher. Which probably is the ultimate do-everything handgun, in the end.

Looks cool. My favorite holster is one I got cheap from the NRA, just a simple clip and leather slot. Works well for everything.
