How do other AHers perceive us?

Nice of you to explain, despite it being pretty clearly laid out in the original post.
But apparently not clear enough for @Five_Inch_Heels. So thanks, @YmaOHyd. We can't have too much clarity!!

Edit: I see that I'm doing what I call people out for. I'm interpreting what you say as other than its plain meaning. I interpreted you as being sarcastic to YmaOHyd. But you were just acknowledging their niceness, right?

A duplicate is a duplicate.

You can twist it, crank it over, flip it upside down, reword it, post it under your own name.

Doesn't make it not a duplicate.

Still backstroking each other.

It's actually not a duplicate. The referenced thread asks a question for us to answer. This one offers an opportunity to opt in to finding out how much of an asshole people actually think we are. Subtle, I know, but then, nuance is lost on some people.

Well, I'd hope they see me as a decent sort of guy who says out the squabbles and other sorts of forum drama. Hopefully a decent writer as well.
I see you most often in Story Ideas, where I perceive you as thoughtful, experienced, and honest-but-supportive!

And also I guess I'm In, because I love attention 😅

A thread is a thread, of course, of course,

And no one can repeat a thread of course

That is, of course, unless the thread is a duplicate

I took note of you some time ago because you explained to someone why their post might warrant removal (I agreed) and commented positively on my post about my review by Stacnash. In general you seem thoughtful and common-sensical. I haven't dug into your stories, as they're a little too weird for my tastes. :)

I guess my sense of you is fun. creative, and easy to get along with.

And if I'm commenting, I guess I should be allowing myself to be abused.

Read them! I thought they were too weird for me, but I loved them. At least read the two Mothman stories. (I think it's still just two.)

For reasons that aren't totally clear to me, I find you very congenial. Part of it may be that you're very responsive to lots of people, both with replies and with Likes. Except for the bit about dog whistles, everything you've posted seems to me to be right on.

Let's make sure that @PennyThompson sees this.

I don't know you (or anyone here) well, but I will say you are a consistently positive presence on these forums, which is appreciated. Even when you can't help arguing*, you seem to make a point to do so in a civil and compassionate way. It doesn't go unnoticed.

* Probably helps that I usually seem to agree with you.

The list of what I disapprove of is far too lengthy for any one thread.
Great! Just keep polluting others' threads with your negativity then. (y)

Somehow my reply to you got posted before I intended. I also wanted to say that I first noticed you because of your arresting avatar (since removed).

Thank you saying it doesn't go unnoticed. I care about people. And I want to see everyone do well and thrive. I think it's part of what my students like about me.

But I get very upset about issues where people are treated unfairly, much of which is some men making very broad (and negative) generalizations about women. I guess There is at least one other issue I have bordered on going nuclear about, but I try to keep myself away from those when I can control my interactions.

Hmm, I recall @iwatchus avatar being the default letter "i" before. I think Iwatchus' posts reinforce his teacher role, trying to make sure the class in order and that no one is feeling left out. A good trait to have.

As for @PennyThompson , I think it's cool when you respond with a laughing reaction, because it works to de-escalate while also serving as a reminder that this is all just the internet aka don't take things too seriously!
