How do other AHers perceive us?

As a participant, I suppose I also have to be in.

@iwatchus: I think you're one of the people most likely to leave friendly reactions on other people's posts, which is a nice way to make people feel acknowledged. Friendly little gesture. Admittedly I don't have strong opinions otherwise -- but I like the reactions.

@PennyThompson: I think you're one of the most purely creative writers on the forum and a consistently positive and friendly person to interact with. I've benefited from the feedback you've given me on my work, and when you've asked me to give you input it's been easy and pleasant, even when I think I'm being a little harsh. Sometimes I wish you'd put more connective tissue into your stories; you have great cute characters and I want them to have more space to be cute at each other.

A few people liked my posts and I realized how much I appreciated the attention. Why not. If a post makes me smile or laugh or I learn something or a million other positive ways people here contribute to the community.

Thanks!
My old avatar went away for some reason and I just used my old default one, which is a scene from "The Perils Of Gwendoline", a softcore femdom-oriented Indiana Jones ripoff from the 80's and starring Tawny Kitaen.
Which is IIRC very loosely based on John Willie's "Sweet Gwendoline" series.

I think I remember your old orangutan avatar (?), which always struck me as interesting and memorable--in neither a bad or good way. And every time I see your username, I wonder if it's some kind of wordplay. The word formaldehyde keeps popping up in my head lol.

Hmm, I recall @iwatchus avatar being the default letter "i" before. I think Iwatchus' posts reinforce his teacher role, trying to make sure the class in order and that no one is feeling left out. A good trait to have.
You're right. You sent me off on a search to find that I was mis-remembering. It was @jehoram that had the arresting avatar.

Okay, I'll bite. Er, I mean I'm in.
You've been on the periphery of my consciousness. I've been meaning to pay more attention, because I think you've made some positive replies to some of my posts. But maybe it was just posts you made that I agreed with. Anyway, will keep an eye out and watch other people's replies with interest.

Sure, why not? It's not like anyone is going to say something to make be more neurotic.
I assume you're saying you're in.

You are a bit stand offish from the rest of community. You have a good sense of humor, but don't show it at the drop of a hat as some of us do.

You feel close ties to your old home (Maine) and I think they are building for your new home as well.

You are a VERY good writer (I think the best story teller on the site). You have no false modesty about your writing and take offense when people don't understand. You have found your calling in life and are working hard to help others, which I'm even more impressed by than your writing.

I have like five girl crushes here, on Lit? Idk, I don't keep actual track of the people that give me gender euphoria. I just know that @PennyThompson and @MelissaBaby are two of them.

Maybe we think alike in some ways. I never see your posts as that obscure.

I suppose, but I say that because I always get a random like from you in a notification from a post that I didn't expect to have a like. @NuclearFairy also pops into my notifications in the same manner, so she gives me the vibes of a voyeur too.

It's fine though. I also like to watch and I also like to give a show.

I prefer the term eternal lurker. ;) Although I post here far more often than I did on the site where I earned that title.

Is it just me hoping that some of the self appointed gate keepers show up on this thread?
(evil laugh)
I wonder if they're all just offline today? 😆

I'm in.
I haven't been here long, but I've dished it out to a few, so it's only fair.
