I have all the answers

Umm, I didn't even say purple lol  . Doesn't matter, red light has the lowest frequency of any light wave, and is the least stable, so it disperses the fastest in anything, air, water, glass.

Well purple is red and blue. So she was half right. lol

hahah, if I'm not mistaken blue light has the highest frequency of any in the visible spectrum, so purple would be dispersed at a medium rate. Don't rely too heavily on me about this though lol, only halway through physics class.

Anyway, I should probably stop showing off lol.

I spell it colour too, have since I was a kid, refused to spell it any other way because I insisted that was right, and I still do.

But I'm not Canadian or British.

Go figure...

I'm off to freeze a couple o' Kotex...just to see the look on hubbys face when he gets back from business trip and finds them in the freezer *snicker*

"here honey, we are out of ice, but you can wrap this around your beer."

Well it actually is the correct spelling, serijules, seeing as how the yanks arbitrarily changed it years ago. One wonders how it was started, perhaps the pilgrims just didn't know how to spell :D .
lol, but once again I could be wrong, maybe 'color' does have a legitimate origin.

ROFLMFAO Oh, to be a fly on the wall! You should install a camera in the freezer to get the look on his face when he first sees it! :D

a new question for ADR

Ok dolly... we both know I tend to enjoy pain. So, given that, why am I so fuckin' scared of the mammogram I have scheduled for today?

I hate the thought of my tits being flattened, squeezed and pulled away from my chest wall in that evil contraption! Of course, the harpies that run the joint have promised faithfully that they'll be gentle with my tender flesh, but.......

I suspect they're more sadistic than most of the dom/mes we know.

hmmmmmm maybe it's not to late to invent a pressing appointment elsewhere.

i'd rather watch his return volley and her subsequent insertion in the location intended by said item's original design.

... and people think a popsicle a dangerous item while playing truth or dare. Nothing like watching a submissive set herself up for an interesting experience.

LOL unfortunately AA, my husband is as vanilla as they come. I can brat him safely.

My Domme on the other hand....would be more along your lines of thinking. I don't think I'll try that with her. I often hope she never remembers the popsicles in the freezer too. brr...

Out of curiousity sake, I've had a mammogram, and it really wasn't that bad. And I was nursing when I got mine. I guess it depends on how sensitive your breasts are, but stressing will only make it worse.

i have to ask this question, and any of you nurses can chime in with your wisdom. They irradiated your breasts while breastfeeding? Is that like extra-special pasteurization, or what? On a more serious/curious note, did the X-ray tech, doctor, Indian chief give you any special instructions for breast feeding following the mammogram?

X-ray does not affect breast milk.

They do, usually, recommend that she empty her breasts before the proceedure, though... makes it easier to read the mammogram.

LOL No, they didn't give me any special instructions. They didn't even ask me to empty my breasts, but frankly I was only nursing on one breast. The reason I got a mammogram was the milk in my left breast suddenly turned BRIGHT RED. It was pretty scary. Add this to the fact that only one nipple is inverted, and they felt that it was better to be safe than sorry. Luckily enough for A, I'm a human cow, and produce enough milk to feed three of four children, easily.

They're pretty sensitive some days. I had a casual conversation with the woman that runs the mammography center and she is going to give me special treatment. In fact, she begged me to make the appointment because I'm 5 years over due and I told her I would come based on her promise of especially gentle treatment. (I made a huge deal about being terrorized by my last experience there).
My first mammo wasn't bad at all. The second one was like something from the Spanish Inquisition. I've avoided caffeine and I'm really not too stressed about it. I just hate being on that side of an examination. Besides, it gave me the opportunity to make a little pun for my pal ADR. heh

LOL You punsters.

I know that my sis says that her breasts hurt more around 'that time of the month'. Maybe that's why the second one hurt so bad for you?

Graceanne, I hope you don't mind the question, but did they ever tell you what made your milk red?

I've heard that certain drugs can turn it black, but didn't know that red was possible too.

It was blood. And evidently there was some sort of infection in a milk duct or two. *shrugs* Whatever was wrong, it went away a week later, and it didn't hurt. It was just freaky. I didn't have any problems like that with the next two, so it must have been temporary. And the mammograms came back normal, too.

And I distinctly remember KC mentioning something about baking Christmas cookies, green food coloring and breast feeding green milk somewhere around here too.

Me, I HATE mammos. But, I'm a bc survivor, so I'm there every 6 months like clockwork.

[serious highjack]

Ladies, I'm 33 and have had a bc lump removed. I was in my early 20's. Breast cancer happens to women of all ages. All nationalities. Be careful, and know your body! Know what you're like when you're healthy so you know when somethings wrong. Do NOT rely only on a yearly or bi-yearly mammo to find it. Mine never appeared on a mammogram. Mine was found in a beach dressing room by a stranger! I was putting on a swimsuit and a stranger saw a dimple on the underside curve where there shouldn't have been and advised me to get it checked out. The first doctor at the clinic laughed at my concerns and said I was too young, don't worry about it even after I gave a medical history that had 3 first or second degree relatives who had it. (No, she wasn't a male.) The second Dr sent me to get a very painful and nasty mammo; the tech blamed me cause I'm well-endowed. It came back clean. My primary care Dr sent me to get an ultrasound, which can be slightly more effective than a mammo if you're well-endowed, depending on the skill of your technician. Bingo! I got it removed; and then some chemo and I've been clean ever since. I'm not trying to scare you ladies, please don't get all freaked. But don't rely on a mammo as a first line of defense, either. Just be careful, and take care of yourself!

Okay, I'm done with my soap box. Back to silly questions for the Lady of 10000 questions.

So how many Elvises are there in Vegas nowadays?

Oh, great ADR, quieen of all knowledge, great and small...
How is the presence of color defined on paper? What I mean is, is black the presence of all colors in the spectrum, or is white the presence of all colors?

And, how is light defined? Is white light the presence of all light in the spectrum or is dark the presence of all light?

And, if you have the answer to these questions...

Could you tell me...how do you make French Toast? :D

Nah. Due to surgery and the miracle of estrogen replacement therapy, I haven't been plagued by "that time of the month" or other hormonal abberations in years. FWIW, they were kind and gentle and didn't hurt me at all. :)

You know, information like that is never given often enough. The more someone tells what really happened to them, the more real it becomes to others.

Is that similar to the signs I see on hospitals that read "No Concealed Weapons Allowed" ?

Funny. LOL

The more dense a breast is, the harder it is to read the mammogram. Ergo... if a breast is full of breast milk it is more dense than if it is empty.

;-)

Yea... I'm the queen of all knowledge alright. Just look at my post count as it edges its way to 10,000. I have to know everything with this many numbers after my name. (insert rolley-eyed thing here.)

When I was an art major, I was told that black is the absence of color and white is the culmination of all color. That should cover everything you asked, I think.

I use shepard's bread, sliced rather thickly to make my french toast... eggs, evaporated milk (eggnog is great for this, too), a dash of cinnamon and vanilla.

;-D
