Impeachment not going so well?

Hardly. I live overseas, where I don't have to worry about going bankrupt if I get sick or about my (hypothetical for now) children being slaughtered at school.

Oh, one of the paid Russians. Got it. Of course, those stats are cooked by your propaganda department. The only real issues faced in our schools are related to "teaching to the test".

And as for going bankrupt if I get sick, I can't say our system is perfect but if I just had to get a serious illness I'd rather do it here (and have) where I have access to real doctors without necklaces of human teeth.

All that aside, it IS your loss because you just lost out on the most precious commodity any human can hope to have.

So what going wrong with the Impeachment Trial now? Team Trump shouted platitudes and the Dems made their case, and made Mitch flinch. So I'd say it was a good day so far.:)

The Trumpublicans and holding together so far. But there have been no real clowns yet, it's early. Sacolow did attempt a leap thru his own ass, but failed. :(

I don't know what you've heard about Australia, but someone's been pulling your leg.

Trump impeachment trial: 4 stories from first day spell doom for Mitch McConnell

If the score was kept for the first day of the impeachment trial, it would show hefty losses for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

As Former Special Counsel for the Department of Defense, Ryan Goodman, pointed out, four major headlines perfectly reflect the cracks in the strangle-hold McConnell has had on his party.

First, McConnell was forced to change the impeachment hearing rules. After a huge uprising by Americans demanding to be able to watch the impeachment trial during normal human hours, senators told McConnell he’d lost the votes to hold proceedings after midnight.

What and miss Stephen and Seth!

I didn't move the goalpost at all. You said:

And I responded with a crystal clear example, if I do say so myself, of how absurd it is to suggest the Republicans had any respect for Obama whatsoever.

Really, guys, I wish I had spent 2008-2016 in whichever parallel universe you were in, in which the Republicans accepted that Obama was the president and that he was a decent and ethical human being. That sure as fuck didn't happen in the world I was living in!

WOW!! So, in your world, 100% of the people agree with 100% of what presidents do or say. You must be getting tired of moving the goal post.

The first four years of Obama's term in office he took every opportunity to criticize and insult Bush. I'll never forget that lefty loon Keith Olbermann's disgusting rant against Bush showing total disrespect for the office and contempt for Bush. Many dems joined in in the rant including Obama. Those first four years of Bush insults took its toll with how pubs felt towards Obama. Going on an apology tour pissed off a lot of conservatives. That's one reason pubs has a dislike for Obama. Bush, having an understanding and a deep respect for the office never ever returned the insults. So get off your oh woe is me pedestal. Obama was never treated like Trump is being treated today

I can't recall one conservative or republican insulting Obama's family, but he was fair game caused by his incessant bashing of Bush. Michele pissed off a lot of people with her comment 'she was never proud of her country till they elected her husband'. Obama Ethical?, he was worst than Trump. I listed all the shit he pulled and you can't change history.

Huh? It's not that I disagree with you here necessarily, but I have no idea what you're getting at.

This I do understand, but it's absurd. The Republicans already hated him from square one, as is the case with all Democrats. It's been that way for quite a while now. At least since the '80s.

I don't see how, given that no such thing ever took place.

Well, he sure as heck didn't have the Senate majority leader shielding him from any consequences for his actions, that much is true. But I refer back to my earlier comment here: if you think the Republicans had any respect whatsoever for Obama, you and I were living in different worlds!

I can't recall one conservative or republican insulting Obama's family,

You might as well expect me to believe you can't name any Beatles songs. Seriously? Hardly a week went by without some crack about Michelle's weight, just for starters.

Michele pissed off a lot of people with her comment 'she was never proud of her country till they elected her husband'.

Perhaps that 'lot of people' should have given some thought to what it's like being descended from slaves. I'm white, but I feel safe in assuming it would change one's perspective quite a bit.

Or better yet, maybe all those people should have looked into whether she ever even said that or not. If they had done so, they'd have learned that's not what she said: https://www.politifact.com/wisconsi...clarke-says-michelle-obama-said-she-was-prou/

Outright denial of reality that doesn't suit the bat shit leftist narrative.

iCanhelp.....don't bother, it's a true believer that the American Dream is evil and should be destroyed at all costs.

Thank you. That's what I was waiting for. I shouldn't take the Crocodile Dundee movie as a documentary.

Which is exactly what you are doing wrt the "conditions" and politics here in the US. You're viewing propaganda that you empathize with and taking as the gospel truth.

It isn't.

The Republicans needed BS reasons to hate Obama because he mostly continued their policies, including Obamacare, copied from Romneycare. Creating a divide on social issues while agreeing on trade and war is what both parties agreed to do for maximum profit. That worked for three decades.

They need to subpoena Bolton and Biden, challenge both subpoenas, and see which one the courts enforce.

I often wonder what compels them to overlook as well as talk past their own party's sins. I, personally, don't care about their ideology, it's up to us to keep them out of office by having a better product. To deny history, the guilty who were afforded a pass.... literally turn the proverbial accusatory guns on others... "PCKB"... is delusional!! Too much trolling for my likes.

Joe Biden said: "I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee... and I had gotten a committment from Poroschenko and from Yahtsinyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor, and they didn't... and as they're walking out to the press conference I said 'we're NOT going to give you the billion dollars'... and they said 'you have no authority, you're not the president'... and I said 'call him'... I said 'I'm telling you, you're not getting the billion dollars'... and I said 'I'm leaving here in about six hours... if the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money!'... well, son of a bitch! He got fired!"

phrodeau writes: "They need to subpoena Bolton and Biden, challenge both subpoenas, and see which one the courts enforce."

I'd like to hear what BOTH of those guys have to say. Democrats impeached Trump WITHOUT John Bolton's testimony, but now they claim they NEED it in order to make their case, which goes to show what a crappy job the House actually did! Meanwhile, Joe Biden REALLY needs to explain his above remarks regarding WHY he threatened to hold-up a billion-dillar aid package to the Ukraine in order to protect his son's company from being investigated!

Ziggins writes: "The Republicans needed BS reasons to hate Obama because he mostly continued their policies, including Obamacare, copied from Romneycare."

Today we all recognize that ObamaCare was DEEPLY-flawed legislation that ultimately cost the Democratic Party its control of both the U.S. House & Senate! Just because something was passed in liberal Massachusetts does NOT make it right for the rest of the United States! Look at San Francisco! They've legalized human excrement on the sidewalks in that ultra-liberal city, but that does NOT make it something automatically desired by the rest of America!

I would add Mulvaney, Pompeo, Hunter Biden, Schiff, the whistle blower, and the ICIG to the list. Watch how fast the idea of more witnesses gets dropped.

If only they had a witness that heard with their own ears or saw with their own eyes, Trump actually committing a crime. The closest they came in the hearings was some guy was told that somebody else thinks Trump might have something underhanded.

Trump said that he'd love to testify at the trial.

It just needs to happen during prime time.

phrodeau writes: "Trump said that he'd love to testify at the trial."

I'd love seeing that, as well... Trump vs. Adam Schiff... our president would kick that pencil-necked geek's stupid bug-eyed ass!

"It just needs to happen during prime time."

Whenever our president appears on television it's PRIME-TIME, phrodeau! He regularly speaks at packed arenas with overflow crowds unable to get inside. Compare that with Joe Biden talking to the thirty people who show up to hear him bore them at the Iowa State Fair! I think Michael Bloomberg even got Judge Judy to appear with him at one of his campaign stops, with maybe a hundred people in attendance?

I can't wait until Trump gets on the debate stage with Creepy-Sleepy "Gropin' Joe" Biden, who is poised to win the Democratic Party's presidential nomination! The media shields & protects that hair-sniffer from embarrasing questions about he & his son's behavior, but Trump will let him have it! Joe has ALWAYS been a terrible candidate, which is why he dropped out early in the 1988 race, and again in 2008! And yet NONE of the other Dems running can beat him!

LOL, Schiff would wind him up and Trump would end up being led out in cuffs wondering what just happened because his testimony was “perfect.”

jomar writes: "LOL, Schiff would wind him up..."

Adam Schiff couldn't "wind-up" Greta Thunberg - have you actually SEEN photos of that pencil-necked geek?

Adam Schiff actually played a bit part in the 1988 film: "Beetlejuice" (see above pic!)

phrodeau writes: "Ooh, the paid troll agrees with me. I’m all a-tingle."

I think that Schiff is more of a "geek" than a "troll," phrodeau! Perhaps you're confusing him with Jerry Nadler?
