For New York City

I cried today
not for you, nor, for I.
I cried for the horror that walks freely
unchecked
and I remembered.

And yet, I see them
a circle in heaven
holding hands and smiling down.
they speak to me.

“Be strong, we are with you,
we know your grief, feel your pain
as now we sit here in glory,
at God’s right hand
and
we love you”

Yes, I cried today
and I know
I will cry tomorrow.

Well today is not an easy day. This morning while I was taking my son to school they played God Bless the USA. I was trying to sing it but was not able to for tears and a knot in my throat. Then President Bush came on for a moment and at 7:46 cst there was a moment of silence in observance of when the first tower was hit. He then gave a short speech encouraging everyone to volunteer or reach out to people. Then one of the DJ and the Dallas Jr. League sang God Bless America. The tears have not stopped flowing. The tower at the University of Texas stopped the clock at 7:46 also. One suggestion that has been made to observe this day and to remember always is to reach out and call someone you have not spoken to lately and just tell them you love them.

Well I am reaching out to everyone hear to say I love you, and to give a giant hug. ((((((((((((((((((((((((USA and theWorld))))))))))))))
I think we all could use a hug. :rose:

I Love my country. United we stand. We will remember always.

Have a great day and reach out to someone and give them hug and let them know that you love them.

BD, that's beautiful. Thank you hon

Thank you all for posting your thoughts and encouragments. To be honest, I was afraid that this thread wouldn't last long, after all i didn't start it with any big message or anything. I live in washington state, and i've never been even close to NYC. I just felt that this was something i needed to do...i'll stop now before i ramble any more than i already am...

my thoughts and prayers go out to all of the survivors, and all of the families of those who didn't make it.

since 8am this morning I've had tears in my eyes

heard the church rells ring.......moments of silence......heard
on tv all the names being read who died in WTC..........

ironic how its a beautiful blue sunny day here....just like
9/11 last year...........

I am wearin' red white and blue today.......hope that many
of you are doing the same.

Love to all on this 9/11.... :rose:  :rose:

Little Did She Know (She Kissed A Hero)

He found some socks
She chose his tie
And when he left for work that morning he was just another guy
Going to work
He'd have to fly
Out to a meeting in L.A. so she had kissed him twice goodbye

Little did she know she’d kissed a hero
Though he’d always been one in her eyes
But when faced with certain death
He’d said a prayer and took a breath
And led an army of true angels in the sky
Little did she know she’d kissed a hero
Though he’d always been an angel in her eyes
Putting others first, it’s true
That’s what heroes always do
Now he doesn’t need a pair of wings to fly

The phone had rung
His voice was calm
Before he could tell her anything she knew something was wrong
I love you so
The last words he’d said
She said I love you too
And then the phone went dead

Little did she know she’d kissed a hero
Though he’d always been one in her eyes
But when faced with certain death
He’d said a prayer and took a breath
And led an army of true angels in the sky
Little did she know she’d kissed a hero
Though he’d always been an angel in her eyes
Putting others first, it’s true
That’s what heroes always do
Now he doesn’t need a pair of wings to fly

"What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.
