In some places, like our hometown, most of the student population is out in the boonies .. if there is too much fog (like what is outside my window ... or was earlier) then they have to at least delay school or it's too dangerous with the low visibility.

there is no fog here in indy....so I wasnt sure

ice and snow

While I know the weather has been creating lots of headaches, the trees on bushes lining I-65 north of Indy are completely ice-covered and absolutely gorgeous!

It didnt look so gorgeous here. Our power went out Wed and didnt come back til late Sunday. Our phone went along with the cable. Our cable (and internet) just got back up this evening, but the phones still out. We went to the inlaws, but they lost power too within an hr of our arrival. We spent the 5 days hauling water, cooking on camp stoves and looking for supplies. You could find a D battery in Muncie to save your life. Not to mention kerosene heaters, Coleman fuel or generators. We had most of the stuff already, but have decided a generator is at the top of our shopping list. 11 people even in a 5br house is too much. Since we were the experienced campers, we got volunteered for most of the work. Not amuch fun it wasnt! Glad to see everyone seems to have made it through alright. Looks like mother nature is not done yet. We have thunderstorms changing to snow and artic temps for the rest of the week. May have to do something to appease Mother Nature. Maybe sacrificing a virgin would work? Wonder where one could find one of those?

Surely we can find one somewhere... if nothing else we might try going to a college or high school and grabbing someone out of a chess club or something like that.:D

what were they thinking?

Robber returns for directions

An armed robber held up a petrol station in the US and then went back to ask for directions.

The 22-year-old man, from Vancouver, Washington state, got away with cash after holding up staff at knifepoint.

The robber took off in a red Honda car and police from four towns gave chase, reports the Kitsap Sun.

After a 100 mph chase through winding roads, the man lost his pursuers but had no idea where he was.

He pulled into a petrol station to ask directions to Seattle, unaware it was the same one he'd just robbed.

Attendants alerted police who caught up with the man and arrested him soon afterwards.

Burglar gets stuck in chimney

Firefighters had to knock down a chimney to rescue a burglar who got himself stuck fast.

The intruder had tried to enter a house in Buenos Aires by climbing down the chimney.

Homeowner Gabriela B was surprised in the early hours to hear a voice behind her fireplace, Terra Noticias Populares reports.

A police spokesperson said: "Mrs B said that she got home a bit tipsy and when she heard the voice coming from the chimney she thought for a moment that it was Santa Claus."

The burglar was arrested after being freed from the chimney.

virgin

Well dont know where a virgin would be unless you look in the lower levels of educastion, maybe there are still some left in todays world.

what??!!??

Just thought you all might get a laugh out of this one. It might even be educational?

Man superglued condom to penis

A Romanian father-of-five needed medical help after he superglued a condom to his penis.

Nicolae Popovici, 43, told doctors he didn't want any more children, reports National newspaper.

The man, from Topraiser in Constanta county, named only as NP in the paper, already has five children.

He and his wife decided to use contraception but the condom they bought was too big so he stuck it on with glue.

After sex, the man realised he couldn't remove the condom and went to his village's medical clinic for help.

A nurse said: "He even said that he thought the condom could be used several times and that he wanted it stuck on his penis so he could use it again later. We barely managed to remove it in the end."

Well you sound like you made it ......so Im hoping that the muncie area wont get hit so bad this next time......

muncie

Im with you on that one legs. I am hoping that Muncie is spared the brunt of this front too. There is 1 thing I appreciated about this last storm, being able to spend some tine with the family without all the distractions. The phones ringing off the hook, tvs on constantly, etc. If we get snowed in again, we plan to stay home and spend less time working to care for everyone and more time playing games with the kids. Of course the nocturnal activities had to be put on hold at the in laws too and thats never any fun.

local weather

I'm from Marion, just a little north of Muncie. While we didn't get hit wuite as bad as Muncie, we were close behind. My parents were without power from Wed to Sat. My dad works for AEP in muncie, and he was working 16 hour days when this all started and they've just recently set him back to 13 because majority of the workers don't have power and they didn't think it was fair to make them work 16 when they also had to deal with outages at home. And then there's today...I firmly believe that you can experience every season in one week in Indiana!

meet & greet

I think the meeting is a great idea. I would love to meet new people and see the faces to all of these torsos! Since there are a few newbies (newer than me anyway!) I renew my request to find a lovely lady who is interested in sharing an interesting evening with me and my husband and fulfill both mine and his fantasies. I'm looking for someone D&D free, not bothered by looks or willing to look past weight issues, and is free to come by herself. if you would like to e-mail, my e-mail address is ua_agent@yahoo.com. Or you can just post a reply! hope to hear from that lucky lady soon!:)

ECI weather

My husband works in Marion. He took 3 days off last week because of all the ice. He said this evening parts of Marion are flooded from all the rain. Crazy IN weather. Supposed to be a low of -2 (with wind chill) by the weekend. By Monday it will change again. lol

There was actually a guy in todays paper complaining about the time it took AEP to get the power back up. Nearly 120,000 people in 7 days isnt good enough for him I guess. Some people arent happy no matter what. Wonder if he'd have had the same opinion if he had been talking to some of the AEP workers?

It's raining, the snow is gone, preparing for the wintery blast. We'll see. The forecast has already changed.

THat is probably the same guy that complained in the paper about how long it took the road crews to get the streets in driving condition......
I think our guys here in Indy do a great job.....especially with the really wierd snowstorms that we have been having.....

Hi Nikki
We have been talking about a meeting for the lit people in the middle to end of february.......

Anybody still interested!!!

Indianapolis Lit-together

Postponed until Saturday February 19th, 2005

Place:

CLAUDE & ANNIE'S
1229 S GIRLS SCHOOL RD
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
(317) 247-8124

Date:

Saturday February 19th, 2005

Time: ???

2PM? 4PM? 6PM?

Is anyone still interested?

6PM was the only time suggestion, though that may put us in the middle of the dinner rush, which means a count, reservations and promptness in keeping them.

With 2PM and a light dining load, it wouldn't matter so much if we held a couple of tables that never got filled due to no-shows -- as long as there weren't other customers waiting for them.

The next Saturday, Feb 26, has been suggested if an alternate date is needed.

Please speak up!

I'm only going to organize this thing if I'm sure people will participate. If I get some of positive feedback (i.e. promises) then I'll publish a notice other places.

Thanks
