oh well, I'm sure if you had never heard of bearchives you might have been moderately impressed. if you don't mind me asking what threads did you contribute to them - if you can send me a link I might add to them - I've been looking at adding to beachive but have only found a few threads I want to add to.

good work on getting number three Murakami! I'm sure it was a big effort with you both writing threads of 'John Almighty' and writing thread trade-offs, but it looks like it's paying off.
I had a look at your BEarchive threads - I haven't contributed to them yet though. that whole story is a mess, it has no direction and more often then not the choices don't lead to anything that remotely resembles what the choice promises. Trying to navigate it is just like getting lost in a maze.
I worked out that once you are ten plot choices into it, you could be reading one of over 900,000 possible threads (assuming you have an average of 4 choices at the end of each thread). it makes it very intimidating for readers who can literally get lost in the jumble and demotivates writers (or at least me) to write knowing your work will be a gem hidden in a colossal pile of midden.
After all 8 out of ten threads on that site are no more than two sentences long - its a bit crap. But there is gold in there - you just gotta look hard for it.

Yes, it is a mess, which is why I stopped contributing over there. I'm not sure I would recommend following up on those, they will just get lost in the forest again. If I see a spot, though, I'm going to try to ring over these threads to CHYOO so they will actually be appreciated.
The biggest problem with the BEAddventure is that it all starts from one single thread and just spreads out. That and all possible choices are created by the author of the current thread and not the the author making the new thread like it is here.

I'm back, although we'll see for how many threads. I won't have a lot of time or free brainpower to write for the next few weeks (I will be around to approve, so how about some thread for me to approve of?), but after that I should have more time available, provided I don't get writers block again.
I threw in two new threads that I thought up on a whim (plus cross story inspiration), but I'm worried that I've perhaps made things too broad...

Nice work their mate only wish I could add some more to the story but being in the south of China as I am makes it difficult to get online at the best of times, let alone add new threads.
I'm sorry for not writing recently, even though I said I would. I have a combination of writers block and enthusiasm stall due to overwork, which I will hopefully get over soon. I have a several ideas, but just can't work up the will or the organization to get them onto the screen at the moment. I hope people an understand and give me a bit to get back in the game.

Dude, I know how you feel, I go through writing phases... I'll write like mad for a few weeks, contributing a decent thread every day or two then just have nothing for a month or two.
It sucks to think that people might be losing interest in your story or thinking it might be getting a bit stale, but if there is a way to force yourself to write material that you feel happy enough to post - I haven't found it yet.

He's the one that created the universe that "Dramatic Change" is set in and I've always found his writing 'stimulating'. He's got good imagery and is brilliantly descriptive. He's reinspired me back to writing a few times...

I am back with my first new post in awhile. There will be several more to come as I get some ideas together, they are floating around in my txt editor while I bang on them.
I was really hoping that there would be more additions by others to give me some inspiration while I was away fighting writers block, but there have only been a few contributions. Please throw in some stuff; even if I am not actively adding for whatever reason I am always around to approve unless I specifically say otherwise in a later post. The more there is the more chance for everyone to throw in their thoughts

Yeah I think, I was constantly asking myself, why are these two in such a relationship? Where did this relationship come from? Did I miss something? If it was a new story then you might have gotten away with it (if it wasn't for those pesky kids!) but as it's part of a continuing story, then I think it needs some sort of build up, at least have a main character walk into the room to find his (or her) sister and mum getting it on, maybe some description on how this is a fleeting fancy or something.

The cogs are turning (no really they are, they're a bit squeaky at the moment but they're turning!) work is a bit of a bitch at the moment though so I only really have enough energy to read new additions (good work by the way!) and not write anything...
