In the ocean lives a creature called a sea sprite. When it is young, it is an active hunter... constantly swimming in order to survive.

As it matures, it anchors itself to a rock, and waits for food to just float into its open maw. Since it no longer needs to try to do anything, it actually consumes its own brain for nurishment.

The only other example of this behavior in nature is...
a tenured professor.
