I have followed Pat's career for a long time. When I was at Purdue, she was our main competition. The Lady Vols are pretty spectacular and they owe it all to her.

I wish the fan base would quit complaining about Tubby - few years ago he swept the SEC at 16-0 and was being hailed as great! We were on that 10 game winning streak earlier this year, and you didn't hear much about fire Tubby.
I think when the team PLAYS AS A TEAM - and not 4 guys looking for their shot, and one whos afraid to shoot - they will win games.

When Feldhouse, Farmer, Pelphrey etc were there - they didn't have the "Tallent" but they had the drive to win. What KY needs is more players with the "drive to win" - then anyone who coaches them, will be a "WINNER"
After all, the coach doesn't make the baskets - the 18 - 22 year old KIDS do.

When Sutton screwed up our University by cheating - I wanted PAT RILEY (who at that time was just comming off his 5th NBA title with the Lakers) instead they chose Pitino --- and that worked out all right.
Tubby was hated first because he's black - and then for ANY screw up he makes.

Its like the guy doesn't get a break -- since he's won the NCAA - we've been a # 1 seed no less than 3 other times. This year, assuming he makes a decent run in the SEC tournament in Atlanta (which I will be at by the way) we'll end up being a 6 or 7 seed and get to play a few teams early that we might not have if we won a few of the games we let slip by. But overall, LUCK of a bounce - or a pass is what wins those games.

Like I said before - its the will of the PLAYERS to win championships not always the Coach. They are the ones on the court.

I have no problem with Tubby. As you can see by my previous posts, I don't like UK regardless of who works or plays for the university. I'm merely showing surprise that the athletic department has been so tolerant of his "lack" of winning championships. Seeding doesn't matter. SEC tournament wins or playing streaks do not matter. It's the expectation in KY that UK will win the NCAA tournament.

And as I said before, it doesn't matter how the kids perform, it's the coach who assumes the responsibility for failure.

hey, I am not trying to get people who are not fans to like KY.
I just wish the so called "fans" would get off Tubby's back.

I am married (21 years and still going) to a U of L fan (she went to U of L and Bellermine) -- so I know all about people who are "not in favor of KY no matter who is in charge" but I don't like the fans of KY trying to bad mouth the team, players, coaches etc.

Did the people that bad mouth them - PLAY the game? what is their record? Did they do any better than the current group of players? Hell, for that matter, did they EVEN GO TO THE SCHOOL? <--- meaning, I support UK because I graduated from there, while many others claim to be 'fans' but never graduated from there.

This note is to who ever cares. I am a 50 year fan of U of K. I am more fed up with Ten Loss Tubby than ever!! U of K has been one of the top five programs in the country for over 50 years. They were when Tubby came there! Can you honestly tell me they are now. Top ten program? Nope! Top 20? Probably not. That is why U of K fans are upset!!!!!!!!!!!! That is why Crum got in trouble, his program dropped from a top 10 or top five program to not even on the map!! Knight got by with his ugly antics at I U as long as he was winning. What happened when his program fell off the map. He was fired. Pick what ever reason you want to for his firing. He was fired because his program had fallen of the map!! I feel the race thing is not an issue with 97% of U of K fans. Tubby Smith is a fine human being. He is not a great basketball coach. U of K fans demand a great coach and accompaning program and are satisfied with nothing less. You see it quite often with the Florida, Auburn, Ala. Okla. and Nebraska football programs. I was in Alabama recently and the Auburn and Alabama football fans are just as rabid over their football as the U of K fans are over basketball. NC and Duke and Kansas basketball fans are also just as rabid as the U of K fans. And will not tollerate mediocrity any more than U of K fans. !!!!

I'm not a UK fan, but I'm not a hater either.

If I were a UK fan, I'd be fed up too. Maybe I view things simplisticly, but it all starts and stops with the coach.

"The players aren't executing": Who gets paid $2.5 million to get them to play properly?

"The talent level is down": Who gets paid $2.5 million to recruit good players?

When you're the coach at a school like UK or UofL, you get paid a tremendous amount of money to put a winning product on the floor.

I am sitting here watching Noah thump his chest. If Ten Loss Tubby had any balls he would put a bench warmer in and have him bust the SOB in the mouth. Preferrably a 6'9" worthless POS frosh recruit. Maybe then he could get some good out of his worthless recruiting.
