Leather and Lace

Juli lifts Keri carefully from the bed and over into the restroom.

Kallie slips into the bed carefully and just cuddles Katie close. "Katie I'm so glad you came back to us."

Jen stood in the chapel taking deep breaths trying to calm herself a bit. "Oh Kristin I miss you so much." She twirled the ring on her hand again. "Your sister has fallen in love it's sweet she needed that."

Keri winces and groans a bit as she is lifted and carried to the bathroom, but she knows she can't walk. She whimpers softly as she tries to sit down to go to the bathroom.

Katelyn awakens just a little as Kallie slips into the bed next to her. She smiles softly at Kallie and cuddles up against her warmly, giving her another soft smile before drifting back to sleep.

Juli watched Keri. "Love you need your pain meds and probably another round of Iv antibotics."

Kallie snuggled Katie gently not wanting to hurt her but needing to be close to after watching the flatline. She kissed the top of Katie's head.

Jen sat down and just played with the ring on her hand she shouldn't have come here it was too soon but she knew Kallie needed her.

Keri finally manages to sit down, she does it quickly though and stands back up slowly wincing and holding onto the bar next to the toilet. She looks up at Juli and nods then looks down at her hand. She opens the bandage and looks at her hand, which is a bit angry looking. "I don't remember when I had my last Tetanus shot love"

Katelyn wakes up in a bit of panic trying to remember where she is again then notices Kallie. She manages to roll to her side and snuggles up against Kallie gently.

Juli pulled Keri back into her arms gently once she had finished. "Then I'll get you a tetnus while I order your meds and iv bag.' Juli carried Keri back into the room and put her on the empty bed.

Kallie just snuggled Katie close to her wanting her to feel safe and warm. She glanced at Juli. "Hon if your going out to do something check in the chapel for Jen please."

Keri smiles softly at Juli as she picks her back up. She sighs a bit, thankful for the heplock in her arm so that there are no more needles involved. She immediately reaches over places a hand on Kallie's arm as she is laid down.

Katelyn awakens at the sound of Kallie's soft voice, she wraps an arm around Kallie and snuggles up closer to her.

Juli settled Keri gently and hugged her a moment. "I'll check on her Kallie."

Kallie snuggled Katie close to her grateful for this. "Thank you I worry about her I had wanted her to move down here but she wouldn't."

Jen sighed and just sat in the chapel still playing with her ring and that's where Juli found her. "Jen?"

Jen looked up. "Kallie sent you after me?"

Juli nodded. "Yes she's worried about you frankly so am I."

Jen continued to play with her ring. "Ending it would have been easy but I couldn't Kristin wouldn't have wanted that for me."

Keri tries to move closer to Katelyn and Kallie since both sets of bedrails are down but she just can't now that the pain meds have worn off. She grabs Kallie's hand and squeezes it tightly, at a loss for words.

Katelyn buries her head in the crook of Kallie's neck as she sleeps peaceful, her breath slow and even and the monitors remaining steady.

Kallie patted over Keri's hand as the nurse came in and put the Iv into place setting it to drip. "Okay the antiboitc is in there as is the pain meds. Dr. Stevens will do the tetnus when she comes back."

Kallie held onto Katie gently. "She's lost in her own grief it isn't healthy."

Juli looked at Jen. "At least you realize that."

Jen continued to play with her ring it was the one thing that kept her grounded. "It's just so hard. I keep expecting her to walk in and then I remember she isn't coming back. It isn't fair if she hadn't been coming to see my compete she'd still be here."

Keri smiles as Kallie pats over her hand. She nods as she listens to Kallie, "Yes this is true." She takes a deep breath as she feels the cold solution starting to push through arm. She truly hates hospitals and everything within them. She looks down at the heplock and up at the bag then at Katelyn, starting to get angry again and trying to get up out of the bed. After being with Krystall so long she had developed a very unhealthy anger against her.

Kallie looked at Keri. "You stay put you can't carry you're wait yet not to mention Juli would be mad and you don't want that. We will get her and she won't hurt anyone again."

Juli didn't really know what to say. "It's not your fault it's that idiot drivers fault."

Jen blinked her tears away. "I guess."

Keri looks at Kallie with a very pained expression, her anger and guilty feelings starting to take their toll on her emotionally. She sighs and stares at the ceiling wishing for something but not knowing what it is that she is wishing for as she holds onto Kallie's arm perhaps a bit too tightly.

Katelyn remains fast asleep, happy and warm in Kallies arms.

Kallie cuddled Katie close to her. She looked at Keri's hand on her arm. "Keri this isn't your fault you tried to get her out. It's like Jen she blames herself for Kristin and that isn't her fault."

Juli looked at Jen again. "Come on back Kallie's worried and she won't leave Katie."

Jen wiped at her tears. "I'll be there in a minute. I don't want her to see me like this."

Juli nodded and went out getting the shot and going back into the room. "She'll be here in a minute. She is in a bad way."

Keri turns her head and looks back at Kallie again, tears of anger in her eyes. "I failed at my job Kallie, I'm a cop... I'm supposed to protect and serve and I didn't do that with myself or with Katie." Keri starts to force herself out of bed making it almost to a sitting position and getting one leg over the rail before Juli walks in.

Katelyn stirs at the voices for a moment but doesn't awaken, her vitals still remaining steady even though she is terribly weak.

Kallie eyed Keri. "It is not you did the best you could Keri yes your a cop but you had to get yourself out before you could even think to get Katie out."

Juli eyed Keri. "Keri Anne get your body back in that bed this instant."

Keri turns her head to look back at Kallie, "It wasn't enough, not fast enough... I'm always too late... And I can't just sit here and do nothing. It's making me crazy" She groans as Juli enters the room with the shot and starts to get back in bed, almost falling but managing to catch herself, and getting very frustrated. "Damnit!"

Katelyn stirs at Keri's sounds and opens her eyes for a moment, not really making any sense "Keri, she wont hurt you anymore." She snuggles up against Kallie and goes right back to sleep having said that.

Kallie snuggled Katie close to her. "Yeah Keri she won't hurt either of you again."

Juli settled Keri on the bed and gave her the shot. "You are staying put you can't bear weight yet."

Jen came back into the room her eyes a bit red from crying. "I guess I'm just not very good company right know."

Keri gasps and groans as the needle is pushed into her muscle, having always hated the intramuscular shots. She ignores Kallie for a moment, now a bit out of sorts and very edgy. She looks up at Jen and smiles "Your fine Jen, we all understand. Though I'm a bit crazy now so ignore whatever I say." She closes her eyes but keeps seeing horrid images and snaps them back open. If she were able to walk she would be pacing. She starts tapping the rail of the bed with her fingertips, drumming them slowly and making small pinging sounds against the metal.

Kallie looked at Jen. "Lil sis you are going to be fine. I still think you should just move down here."

Juli grabbed onto Keri's hand. "Keri love your fine and your safe."

Jen looked at Keri. "You're not crazy." She faced Kallie. "You know that I can't do that."

Keri sighs as Juli grasps her hand, she squeezes it firmly "I'm sorry for being cranky" she whispers softly then pulls Juli's hand up and kisses it. "I need some fresh air I think love." She looks over her should to Kallie and Jen, knowing they need privacy.

Juli picked Keri up and put her into a wheel chair. "Okay then outside we go."

Kallie looked at Jen. "It's not doing you good to be in that apartment either."

Jen looked back at Kallie. "It's the only home that I've had I can't leave it yet."

Keri gasps and whimpers as Juli picks her up and places her in the wheel chair. Sitting up is very painful but she deals with it so that Kallie and Jen can be alone. Once they are out of earshot she asks "Do you think Jen will be ok?"

Juli looked at Keri. "In time she will be. I flew up with Kallie Jen was a wreck then she's pulled herself together but has probably lost a little ground being alone in that house by herself."

Kallie just looked at Jen not really knowing what to say.

Keri nods and sighs "I really thought I had lost you forever. I pretty much threw myself into my school work and did really well but I was empty inside. I decided I didn't much care about college but went anyways and got my degree in Criminal Justice then went through the academy. Of course, while I was there I met Krystall after I hit a low and she promised me wonderful things."

Juli listens to Keri and holds onto her hand really wishing she could hug her love tight. "I did the same thing love I had given up finding you it seemed that your parents blocked my comminications via my father's orders. I tried to call and call and never got through then finally I did they said you'd gotten married it broke my heart. What was your low?"
