Line by Line Challenge Commentary Thread

Damn indeed. That was a cool site: esoteric and I probably wouldn't attempt most of the forms there, but it was a great resource for one's poetry tool kit.

I just spent the last half hour searching the web for an analog (one that lists forms by number of lines) to no avail. Maybe someone else will get lucky and find a similar site to share here.

The Poets Collective will accept tags with number of lines to a poem here is their linik to 11 line poems

You know how you've heard that nothing is ever really deleted once it's been online? That's not entirely true, but some things do exist in the internet afterlife.

Brilliant! Thank you both. :rose:

P'tor I'm a techno-dope. How does one search by tags? That's a trick I need to learn.

Thanks Lyri, it's reassuring to know there is an afterlife - at least on the internet.

Angie -On Poet's Collective Site, just enter desired item into search window - here is a link to 12 lines for those keen to get on with 12 line poems for the August Lineby Line Challenge.

Thanks. I always expect this stuff to be more complicated than it is.

I'll probably get to my 12-line offering (mess) in a week or two. I'm finally having my surgery on the 3rd of August. It took forever to get my insurance sorted. 'Murica.

No rush,I hope all goes well with your surgery. I may well be late myself with a family get together and a canoe trip. Great to these happening after the lost year and more with covid.

Thank you P'tor. My surgery just got postponed again ( ). I'm starting to feel cursed! But the good news is I can put my poetry cap back on...once I'm done sulking.

Enjoy your time with your fam and the fishies. :rose:

Good luck the next time!

Angie, I loved your Basin Street Blues, yet another of your continuing set of jazz poems.

Long ago when Ross Porter was with the CBC and later with Jazz FM91, he had a late night jazz program "Music to Listen to Jazz By," I suggest you might collect them and publish as "Poems to Listen to Jazz By." Or at least post them as a sticky on PFD

Thank you P'tor. I was reading that Louis was the first to record Basin Street Blues (in 1928), so I had to listen to that and when I did the poem just poured out of me. :)

I may start a thread of my jazz poems, if only to put them all in one place. There are dozens of them going back almost 20 years.

:nana::nana::nana:Welcome to our madness Winter Fare, and PBAnnie too. :nana::nana::nana:

There's always room for more.

PBAnnie, your Once In a While is lovely. The rhyme is lilting but unobtrusive and that cornucopia of images is like a movie in my mind's eye! Really enjoyed reading it. :rose:

Angeline's Under Toad Wow!

Agreed. It's a great commentary of recent events.

Thank you both. It's a dark poem, for me. I had learned an old friend died suddenly and was processing it.

PBAnnie, we did a challenge here years ago where we each wrote a poem about one of the twelve (or thirteen) moons. I tried to find it to link here without success. It was a good challenge, yielded some terrific poems. I believe it was Champagne's challenge. Maybe she or someone else here remembers it.

Unlucky thirteen is over the hump and now is now up to 14 submissions. Again, I am impressed by the creativity, diversity and technical prowess of PFD poets.
