I have decided to use Lit as a tool motivate and encourage me on my journey to get back in shape. I'm going to post at least one pic a week and comment on whether I've been sticking to the plan!

Anyone else interested in posting pics and joining Dietfest 2009 feel free to join me. Hopefully all the nice Litsters will cheer us on!

Wish me and whoever joins me luck! First pic coming when I weigh in at the gym in about an hour...

Good luck a2005fantasy! This is a great idea. Hope it goes well. Can't wait to see who joins you too.

Day 1

Ok, this is rock bottom folks! Day 1 weigh-in is 229lbs. I won't settle for less than getting to 200.

Jaimee Foxx wrote the song that explains this pic.... "Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol..." lol

I'm now at 114 (down from 120 a few months ago), but would like to get back to 105 or 100.
But even 110 would be nice! ;) Re: a pic, that's me in my AV.

Good luck on your journey to healthier weight, a2005! :)

Thanks for your support. Your av is nice! Keep posting and let us know how u are doing, along with progress pics. I'm going to post one a week, reguardless of how well I'm doing. If I'm slacking I want the Litsters give me hell about it!!

i can not agree with this post , if you feel like you need a diet the motivation should ocme from you , not from others , you never should change your body to others but for yourself !

if you are happy with yourself is fine , but if you try to change yourself to "the others" you will never be ok.

so no motivation from me!

I started Crossfit and the Zone, not from Lit, but that damned movie "300"! But, good luck with it, and hang tough! :)

When did I say I was doing it for anyone else? All I said was I'd like others to encourage me and others who are trying to make a diet and fitness program work.

So to you I say take your no motivation and use it as a cork.

You're welcome! Thanks for the compliment as well. :)

My weight gain was due to lack of exercise and too much potato chips. For a time, I binged on potato chips. I even bought the "low fat, low salt" kind to cheat myself. Now, I'm not really on a specific diet, but I eat more during breakfast and less for dinner (and eat healthier foods as well). Plus, I'm walking and doing some exercises at home. I feel great when people in RL say that I'm thinner now. ;)

And oh, I'm not losing the weight just for vanity. It's for health reasons as well. You might think that the additional weight isn't much, but on my frame, it is.

I think it's nice that you're trying to look and feel better, so I'll continue to cheer you on. Having a morale boost is important when trying to lose weight - it can get tiring and you need to be motivated. During weekends, I've got some "aerobics buddies" - it's always nice to have someone to do exercises with. :) Since I can't exercise with you, I'll just give you some online support. :D So eat healthier and stretch those muscles! ;)

Its great to have you around, I thank you for your support!!

I have a serious sweet tooth and a love for beer. I am doing this for a few reasons; to be healthier all around, training to run a half marathon, and a more slim waist will improve my golf swing (club championship is right around the corner!!).

I already did my weights and 3 mile run today. Now the hard part, eating right. :)

I'm trying to get myself from 160 to a healthy 135. Made it down to 155 but then jumped back up to 158.

Aww... don't think about the weight gain too much. :) Just try to be healthier all around (re: eating & exercise).
I hope you reach your diet goals! :rose: Good luck! :rose:

God Luck on your journey....I'm sure you'll be looking buff in no time. ;)

Personally, i avaiod weights like the plague, coz looking at a number just depresses me. So, eventhough I'm no where near my ideal weight, I've come to realize its more bout staying healthy. (and to quit smoking too!)

xxxx B~

Eating properly is most important. Simple things like not eating after 8PM, smaller portions, eating slower, cut out all soda- even diet, drink more water, snack healthy, more fruit and veggies. You can still eat but think about what you put in your mouth (be careful saying that on this site) :)

You do have to exercise unfortunately- but the more you do it the easy it is. Your body starts to crave the endorphins. Don't worry about how much you weight- muscle does weigh more, its how you feel anyway. Good luck with it!!!

Here's a bump for your thread! Hmm... did you cut back on your beer and sweets already? And have you been eating healthier? ;)
If not, you'll get a wee spank from me. :D

A lil pic for you - inspired by your thread. It's me all sweaty after a very energetic walk. :)

I love that pic! I find sweaty girls to be a huge turn-on. Keep posting and I'm glad this thread is inspiring some people.

I'm on my way to the gym to work out and weigh in. Wish me luck! Should I take sweaty pics as well??

end week one

Down 2lbs. I'm happy with the start, but a long way to go!

Good Luck to all

It takes a lot of work, and can be frustrating at times, but it does pay off. I weighed in at 326 in the middle of April. Now I'm down to 288. Still a long ways to go. I didn't always see the result I wanted, but looked at a picture of me with a few friends on a fishing trip three days after I went to the gym the first time, and looked at me now, and there is a startling difference in my appearance. Good luck folks... Let's all try to check in a bit and keep on each other because it's easy to get back into bad habits.

Great thread idea!

Congrats on your success so far. I agree that everyone should encourage anyone brave enough to join me, especially if they are posting pics!
