This is what I added in a reply to "Is this a niche..." I should have added that "heterosexual" is not really important. I think it's a way of signalling the the "other's" sex is not important. It so happens that I like more gay BDSM than hetero BDSM, because the MC is male and, I think, because the personal relationship is less emphasized.

What a treat! Now having gotten well into the book, it looks like the Hardesty series might be just as substantive, albeit a bit more erotic, as the David Brandstetter series. I'm springing for the Amazon copies so I can put them on my Kindle. I assume the Brandstetter series is still known? A classic???

Well, there's an interesting question. I don't think of my characters as being gay. Either the MC or the "perpetrators." I think them being into sadism and masochism. There's one exception where the perpetrator is clearly gay. I understand you don't read much erotica, but perhaps you could dip into Twelve Maxbridge Street and tell me if you think it would appeal to the GM crowd. There's a small exception regarding one of the "handlers," but otherwise?

BTW - I've come up with a niche name that satisfies me, even though it will never appear in a cloud of keywords. See my latest reply in "Is this there a niche...".
