I decided to see if I could change my avatar as well, and like others have posted, I see the old avatar and the new one in different threads/areas of the site.

I am still having these problems as well. The first AV I could center by dragging it, and it would stay centered. The current one shows as correctly centered in my About section but nowhere else. I tried deleting the current AV and replacing it with a cropped version to try to fix the centering issue, but the cropped version never loads, just the current one. It would be nice to have some feedback here to let us know if Manu is still looking at this thread and to give any updates.

Just in case anybody wants to change their title, it's now an option even for virgins! Here is the click path:
Click on your user name and avi in your menu bar (next to conversations) > Your account > Account Details > "Lit Control Panel" in the green bar > I changed it in Title and also in Biography just because I wasn't sure > Save Changes.

I do like that anyone can change this now

This forum is so fucked up. AVs not working, people still locked out or can't login. What's the point of having a new forum with these problems going on. Either fix this POS of a forum or bring back the old one. There were hardly any problems with the last one.

oh, i like this new formatting–ongoing issues aside; as for people still being locked out, i don't know who they are or how many... i'd suggest they create a new email and lt account, and then PM Laurel directly. If she doesn't know they're locked out, there's really not much she can do about it.

there are a few really neat new features i'm enjoying and am now fairly familiar with the layout. Still pottering about and i'm fortunate enough to have the time right now and using a pc to do it... might be a nightmare on a phone.

I, as well as others have explained that just because the Admins/owners have not checked into your tantrum throwing fits, does not mean they aren't aware of the problems. You are acting like a child about this. You are a guest on THEIR site. You use THEIR site, free of charge. You do not pay the server hosting fees, or for the software, and I can promise you've never offered a donation for their generosity. It is not up to you to tell them to fix it or bring back the old version. You do not have to see the effort they are putting into it. Because again. This is THEIR website, and they can do whatever the fuck they want. If you are so bent out of shape over the fact that you cannot change your AV, remove the damn thing, and wait for the issue to be solved. Avatar changing is not first world problems here. This is a simple case of. If you don't like it. Move on and find a different place. Or invest into a site of your own. Throwing a tantrum every day, will not fix it any faster. Be mad at me, scream and yell. Do whatever you like, but for gods sake. Stop bitching about the damn Avatars. THEY KNOW!

i clicked on my icon/name top right, then clicked on my av that shows up in the new screen and hit 'delete', which removed my av and replaced it, automatically, with a letter B.

when i returned to this page, i needed to refresh before my flags av showed up

this is just a question, not really an issue: when i logged out of the old-style forums, i believe a note used to pop up onscreen saying something like 'all cookies cleared'. Not seeing that now, so do they still get cleared or not, and how does that affect anything? just curious.

I did the same thing you described. Hit 'delete' and it took down my pic and showed me a letter L. However, as soon as I hit 'accept' it went back to 21-year-old muscley me. Same with trying to reinstate the cartoon crash-test dummy AV I have used ever since I hit 100 posts. I still see the tightly cropped head of that crash test dummy on some of the smaller threads on which I have posted, but when I mouse over it the pop-up window shows my current AV instead. What's weird about mine is that I switched to this AV after the boards switched to XF, and now I'm stuck with it.

What's weird is... if I refresh the page every few minutes, it changes from one to the other.

Under the new platform, i'm not able to view a number of members' full profiles, where I was able to view them in the old format. I'm curious if this is a result of people have a setting turned on by default, or purposely limiting the number of people who can view their full profile?

Probably the latter; the default setting is that anyone can view your profile. With all the changes, some members have spent more time actually looking at all the features and some probably realized for the first time that they could limit those views to people who were following them. Some people may have also become aware for the first time just how much of their activity has been readily available for anyone to see.
