Theme songs???? Now we have to have theme songs???? Oh wait, I already do! :D

Lit has made some thing that I thought I abhorred, absolutely detested, more acceptable to me. I was pretty rigid in my thinking on a certain subject that shall remain nameless, and now I am more tolerant, even accepting of it. I may even go so far as dabbling in it some day if the circumstances are right and he is agreeable of course.

She means anal.

The power of suggestion. Maybe a little encouragement, even. It seems like Lit is a great place to explore and discover new things. Maybe physical, maybe a new perspective, maybe even allowing yourself to go somewhere you never thought you'd go.

I'm not necessarily looking for a list of what new things have you tried using Lit as your safe place to experiment (but certainly don't hold back if the spirit animal moves you), rather how has Lit helped you grow?

Lit gives a person a lot of exposure to people they would otherwise never meet and engage in conversation with, so that helps me grow and expand my horizons. Plus, I'm always bemused by meeting the "inner freak" that resides in so many people. It's comforting.

So... you're saying... this place is like the Breakfast Club?

I call dibs on Ali Sheedy!

Actually lit has given me a lot of self-confidence. I didn't know chubby, nerdy, smartass girls were what some guys considered hot, but it seems to be working for me. :p Honestly though, I felt completely undesirable when I first came here. Now, I know there are at least a couple of guys who think I'm ok looking and wouldn't mind seeing me naked. That sounds stupid and trivial, but it is an ego boost. Call me shallow, I don't care. Haha! ;)

Some of us think that's a pretty fucking hot combination..... ;)

I already posted that I have done all those in another thread...do you NOT pay attention? What kind of non stalker are you???

OMG OUTIEs??? Never even crossed my mind. *shudders*

if it's sex with a mime, I am so disowning you

Irrational fears. We all have them, we all know better, but we still have them.

What measures do you take to try and contain that irrational fear? Or do you just live with knowing it's never going to happen but allowing it some space in your brain to exist.

I have one irrational fear and one only. Thing is, it's not so irrational, just inevitable. It will happen some day. ( no lordP, I am not talking about anal) I am the one who laughs because the rest of the crew is afraid of, heights, bats, spiders, raccoons, mice, rats, you name it they are scared of it...I get to deal with everything they are afraid of.

I just tell myself that it has not happened yet, so the chances that it will happen today are slim to none. Sometimes it works...

I don't have any irrational fears, just rational ones... like jumping out of a perfectly functional airplane.

Fear of even flying in airplanes... another rational one. Back in the 70's, the FAA The agency that is supposed to insure our safety, investigated a series of aircrafts that were crashing. They found out it was a manufacturing problem that would consistently fail. However, the plane in question was the standard workhorse for travel. They would have to ground something like 10,000 airplanes. Effectively, that would kill the travel by air business, which in turn would end their jobs.

So, they allowed the industry to continue, knowing that 5% WOULD die, not MAY die, WOULD die. The kicker is, they withheld their findings until 25 years or so after the problem was fixed. Everyone working at the FAA at that time should be fired and not receive a pension; for not doing their jobs. I don't travel by airplane any more. I don't trust the FAA. Perfectly rational fear of dying in an unacceptable risk.

Irrational fears? Pfft...all my fears are completely rational..Clowns are creepy as fuck...see completely rational😕

I had a fear of flying; well, not so much a fear of flying as a fear of dying when the tin can plummeted to earth at speed with me inside, unable to get out.

So I went on a course to combat it because my job required a few flights per year and it was getting old turning up at meetings having aged 50 years. I wanted to be one of the cool kids who took flying in their stride.

I turned up to the course at the airport, and us trainees introduced ourselves. The guy who I'd noticed sitting in a corner crying with nerves announced that he was a police firearms officer. Quite a few people were crying, actually and that made me feel a bit better because I wasn't that bad.

Anyway, I came out of the course having learned about all the funny noises and why the wings shouldn't fall off, and I enjoy flying now.

But I will never get over my fear of falling off something high and either being painfully crippled for life, or dying.
