Hi to all

I actually left here for a long time, in a large part due to the ignoring of posts, among other things.

Sam, I have seen your Pic thread, just feel kinda stupid posting "nice Tits" comments (BTW they are quite nice).

I have also noticed that some people will skip over your post ( or a bunch of posts) to answer their buddies. It really used to bother me, but there are a lot of good people here as well so I just don't even try to interact act with those types.

So if any of you see me around, jump in and I will always respond.

Exactly my point, I suppose. I don't expect people to feel as if they need to come up with something interesting to publicly post about my boobs in order to interact with me.

And the ignoring people/skipping over posts sucks. Makes me feel like that wallflower in the 7th grade again.

Well... I think I just heard a loud crashing sound as a large chunk of established wisdom on this site was shattered.

It is a good way to get rid of PMs quickly - some of us are overwhelmed with them, and it becomes a chore to go through and respond to them all. (This sounds like I'm bragging about getting so many PMs - poor me. I'll stop here. lol)

I've looked through some threads that are thick with hidden meanings and innuendos that may as well have razor wire round them - they are strictly for the 'in crowd'. I don't even know what folks are talking about on some threads so I'm guessing neither do they!
It takes a better class of thread to welcome newbies on equal terms and treat them with a little courtesy

Back when the internet was in short trousers the usual excuse was the US/UK culture/language difference but that does not apply now, really. Forums will always have their cliques as would a group who regularly drink together in the pub, it takes time for anyone new to work out what's going on and to be "accepted", as it were.

There are supposed to be no barriers in cyberspace but in some cases there are more barriers here than in the real world....

Just wanted to add - the habit for boards to ask new members to introduce themselves - it's embarrassing for the poor soul and two dozen "welcome" one-liners is a waste of time and bandwidth.... I prefer to jump straight in...

Are they cliques or are they people with history, new places are always full of what seem to be groups of friends with shared experiences maybe it just takes a while to be noticed in the chatter and familiarity. I'm too new so every group feels a bit like a clique to me including this one

I was actually thinking about touching on this - I know some people say they won't talk to anyone without a profile or a post history, which I definitely understand. However, if a PM is interesting, and the person sounds as if he could potentially be interesting, I'll respond, even if I've never seen him anywhere before. Two of the people I talk to most have never posted on my thread, and I had never seen them before they PMd me. I'm really glad I responded.

Um, confessing that I often send return pm's to non-posters if they seem friendly vs. horribly pervy. Yes, you're taking a risk, but that's part of the fun! Just because someone hasn't posted doesn't mean they're not worth getting to know, and you'll know that soon enough.

I think any thread, where everyone seems to know each other looks a bit cliquey from the outside. I don't think this one is cliquey, but I can see why. It's probably a good thing to keep in mind, even if a thread seems cliquey there's a good chance it isn't. It's just some people who don't know each other who are having fun.
