Long Distance Relationships

Nice to see a couple joining the thread together. Maxxx's post was indeed enlightening, and covers several of the joys and sorrows of being involved with someone long distance.

So sorry, Alikel, about your experience. You will find comfort here as many times we each feel the "downs" of being separated from our loved one.

I, myself, continue to take each day one at a time, and it does get frustrating when there is a break in communication for whatever reason. Sometimes every day stresses and scheduling just doesn't allow for the intimacy needed to sustain an LDR in a comfortable manner. Communication is terribly important; both through the good and the bad times.

Unfortunately some people continue to "hide" themselves after they begin to get involved this way. I have witnessed several breakups when one of the partners just decides to "quit". They decide they would rather just drop out instead of dealing honestly with the situation. I don't think they truly realize how hurtful this is.

Heard about those heavy storms, T.C. Good luck through them! (Love those Top Cat pics too!)

NYC is in it's second day of record-breaking heat (mid 90s F expected today!). We might get some thundershowers tonight which, hopefully, bring the temps back to order for us!:rose:

Its totally different moving in with someone that you know,but you dont know. Ya know? ;)

We are having to adjust to one another.

OK Jenny now I get to laugh. It is hotter in NYC than it is in Florida. We only hit 86 yesterday and we had a lovely breeze all day long.:cool: :kiss: :kiss:

I was in a long distance relationship for over two years. Calif-Hawaii. Not even drivable.

Lots of hot, hot, email, some phone sex and one meeting in person. I wish I knew how we could have made it work. Just too many obstacles
 
There was nothing that would have kept Tiger and I apart.

If it is meant to be,it will work out. You have to be sure that the person you are having the ldr with is the right one. I cant stress that enough.

I don't think any of us really know all the why's and if's of a relationship, but that's the same whether it's an LDR or not.

As I get deeper into my relationship with Oman, there are still so many uncertainties, and a lot of effort is involved in working things out. I'm sure if I were younger (I'm 49 now), I would not have been equipped to handle the trust and lonliness I have struggled through already. However, all that we've been through has been worth every second so far! Maybe some of us do get smarter as we grow older!;)

Way to go, Toys!! That's such a beautiful poem too; thanks for sharing it with us. 15 days... just a little over 2 weeks!! That's wonderful!:)

Hat... what can I say!! It's only a bit past noon, and it's already 91 degrees and is expected to reach at least 95!! No breezes in NYC either (just came back from the store!). This wave should break by tomorrow!! Surely hope so!:rose:

Well Jenny at least your temps will go down. Ours go down into the 60's at night which is nice but it will only get hotter now. Our summer has more than begun.:cool: :kiss: :kiss:

NYC is "cooling off"; only high 80s expected here!!:rolleyes:

Getting out tonight to see a play (freebie!!). That will help a bit since Oman will likely be "on the road again"! Gosh, I don't like Thursdays! :rose:
