Long Distance Relationships

The troubled road is gone... we are not travelling over bumpy ground anymore... the plane ticket has been cancelled. My countdown has stopped, i'm not sure we have a future.... her mother has chipped away at her and when push came to shove, her family won out... understandable... but then again, mabe not...

Our conversations are now short... friendly at best... long way down from loving... and if i don't call... we don't talk. I guess it is time to say... it is over. I thought we really had something, something worth giving a go... at least meeting was an option, it seems not...

I will keep reading the posts, helping where i can... i just won't be saying anymore about Heather and I.

Thanks Hatara... you helped me with both your comments in the posts and PM. I appreciate your support.

Thank you Jenny for creating this thread, to allow us to come together and share our experiences and offer support to others...

AND thank you to everyone that offered support and encouragement, when I was down, you all picked me up... when I was on a high, you all rejoiced in my happiness...

I thank you all and wish everyone happiness in your future....

tc:heart:

I am sorry to hear about you and Heather. Mabe all she needs is time to sort out her feelings.

And I wanted to join in the group shower.....:D

Hugs T.C.:rose:

You definitely can join the group shower, although I'm so sorry your countdown was called off.

All of us at this thread are here to share not only the joys, but also the pain and disappointments that will sometimes occur.

LDRs will continue to be a "work in progress". Even when a couple actually gets together, I'm sure there are still hurdles to overcome; makes it good we can all share and learn here.:rose:

Thank you so much for all your beautiful words!

You have filled my heart with your love. I can see the stars again now (or do I just have "stars in my eyes"?). Either way, my life is just so much better because of you.

Hang in there

You have friends here and I'm sure the "aussie" thread has open arms, so you have so many to help as you have helped us.

Thanks softey, yes.. my friends at the Aussie thread help too... one in particular...

Talking about someone taking the time to help... Our friend Hatara took time out of her time with Marty to PM me a few messages of support... now that meant a great deal to me...

I publicly thank Hatara and Marty (sitting in the background with the remote in his hand) for the kind words and support she (they) gave me...

long distance

I know that long distance relationships are very hard. But you know it can be the best and most rewarding time of your life. My wife and I have been married for over three yers now and have two wonderful kids. I am very happy now. I first met her out of state and we fell in love sat first meeting. We had a relationship half way across the country for almost two years seeing each other an average of every three months for maybe 5 days at a time. It was very hard and very painful at times. But i wouldn't trade that experience for anything in this world. Time and distance are two key factors to test true love. You know, the more we were away the more my love grew. It also gives you a chance to show how much you really care. Maybe in some ways you normally never would do. Write letters as much as possible, send care packages for no reason, send gifts of surprize, call at work, be creative, and remember to use plenty of humor in your packages and letters. Distance is hard, hearing from your loved one is hard, but somehow a laugh that came 100s of miles away makes things a lot better. Good luck to everyone, it will be worth it.

Welcome, Maxxx!:rose:

Thanks for sharing your wonderful story! You have touched on many of the sensations and issues that most of us deal with. I think the "distance" forces us to work harder at things, and the rewards are so immense and fulfilling! I know so many couples living together that are actually more "distant" than many LDRs are!

As you can tell from leafing through this thread, we use humor as well to bring "togetherness"; always helps when we can "smile" once in a while!

NEVER stop laughing... humour is the easiest thing to share... it is infectious... ome person starts laughing, the other always joins in...

You try not laughing when you are at work and other people are laughing... it is hard...
now do that on the phone or chat or how erver you are connected to your LDR and it is impossible... love makes us laugh... when I've had a downer day... I read the threads and laugh at jokes and comments posted hours before hand... posted to share a laugh... NOTHING helps me more than a loved one making me laugh at my problems... the problems just melt away...

Jenny... you are lucky in so many ways... the things that Oman posts... not only his love but his humour... they brighten my day... AND they are for you...

off my soap box now... bloody work looks like spoiling this day too :) (if only I did not have to go.... mmmmmmmm..........)

Huggggggggggsssssss Top Cat. Sorry about this afternoon Marty was driving through the mountains and I kept losing him!! It was so frustrating but that is part of the deal.

We both think the world of you. Marty also knows what it's like with your situation with Heather he is on the end of one of those too. If you need to talk we will be here for you.
