Maryland is for lovers?

Seems like everyone has gone into hibernation here. At least we had a Sat and Sun with no rain for a change but now it seems like we might going right from Winter into Summer with the temp expected to be 85 on Saturday.

I did get out and play golf on Sat/Sun afternoons. That was nice.

Hope all the mothers out there had a great Mother's Day.

Star -- Like you, I got out and played a little golf this weekend. It was glorious being back out there . . . . even if my game was anything but "there," LOL! You're right, warmer temperatures have GOT to be coming soon . . . . along with additional lifting of lockdown restrictions, I hope!

My golf game was terrible before this and it is still terrible. I don't understand why? lol. I am looking forward to less restrictions but I believe a second wave is coming when it happens since we still have not reached herd immunity yet and no vaccine yet. The other night I went to do a take-out dinner. Drove all the way there (15 minutes) and realized I forgot my mask so had to drive all the way back home, get my mask and then drive back again. Grrrrr.

I'm in the South River and around Annapolis all the time, so I'm going to have to keep a better eye on other boats for some nudity! Lol.

Boating is allowed again! Weather is warming up, so get your ladies out there.

Happy Friday peeps! Anyone looking forward to the stay at home order being lifted? I am a little bit. I'm going to still be cautious... Not like I have an active social life

I am looking forward to things going back to normal but don't think that will happen until there is a vaccine. Even once the stay at home order is lifted does not mean the virus is no longer out there so will still be wearing a mask and limiting going to crowded places. How the economy will come back is still unknown.

Sure has been quiet in there lately? How was the long weekend for everyone? Do anything interesting? I mostly just did outdoor chores but did get out for some golf on Sat and Sun afternoons. Smoked a brisket yesterday that came out really good but the Texas Roadhouse rolls I tried to make were terrible. Not sure what I did wrong but they came out dense and heavy, not light and airy like they should be.

I saw some pics of OC and it looks like business as usual down there. Anybody go to the beach over the weekend?

Hope everyone is doing good.

holiday weekend?

Was there a long weekend? I didn't even notice. It's astonishing how long this has gone on and we're not done yet by a long shot.

Hey Star,
I envy you, I miss my smoker. I loved doing brisket, pit beef, ribs, even turkey on it was awesome. As far as the rolls go, I've never seen a recipe for Texas Roadhouse rolls but, in general, if bread turns out dense and heavy, the most common reason is the yeast was no good and didn't allow it to rise and form the air pockets normally found in bread. Could be other things, that's just what I remember as the most common cause. I'd try getting fresh yeast and try again.

It does seem like Groundhog day sometimes, repeating the same thing day after day. I don't think things will return to normal until a vaccine is available but then the virus may mutate so I think it is here to stay, just like the seasonal flu.

Getting out for golf once or twice/week is my only real escape from the routine!

Hi JT,
I have the Big Green Egg which is very versatile grill. It was a small brisket so smoked it about 5 hours. I have never done a Turkey on the Egg but the ribs have always come out fall off the bone tender. I make my own coffee based rub and BBQ Sauce.

Thanks for the ideas on what I did wrong with the rolls. The dough doubled and was light and airy in the bucket but after taking the dough out of the bucket and forming the rolls I must have done something wrong. The dough was sticky coming out of the bucket so maybe I added too much flour as I was working the dough in the individual rolls. I did notice that the rolls never did rise so I did something wrong at that stage. At least the cinnamon butter came out good.

Hi Spurtman,
I have played golf several times since the course opened back up but no improvement to my game. I will have a great drive but then mess up my irons or I will get on the green in regulation and then 4 putt. I just cannot get a consistent swing. It was just me one afternoon and on one hole I drove the ball straight as an arrow but way to the left in the woods. Hit a second tee shot and I sliced it to the right into the woods. My third tee shot went straight so I covered all directions. lol. Now if they will only let me try my tee shots 3 times I will be good. Still nice to get out and walk for some exercise. I have not seen any women on the course yet in those nice little skirts though. :(

wow, everyone disappeared. There cannot be that many interesting things to do at home. The weather has been good lately and some of the social distancing has been lifted so good to get out the house more even if I still have to wear a mask. Hope everyone is going well.

Star -- Thanks for checking in with all of us. I'm here, a regular visitor/mostly lurker on Lit, but don't have much exciting to report on, I guess. Wonder what happened to Slugger O'Toole? You out there, Slugger? Any new stories about your wife riding in the car, topless but with a mask on?

It has been a while since slugger last posted anything here. Maybe he found himself a friend that has caught his attention. :)

I have nothing exciting to report either spurtman. Just going through the motions everyday and watching all of the craziness happening.

Just broke up

Just broke up with my gf of three years. She is the only woman I have ever been with sexually. Looking to open up and try new things. If anyone here is from the Eastern Shore or nearby, message me.

Sorry! I essentially have nothing to say, report or share. Stay at home has pretty much squelched fun since the kids are also always home ... and normally up later than me.

Hopefully the warmer weather and the loosening of restrictions will allow us out a little more for some fun.

Also, this working from home stuff actually has me working more hours. Go figure!

I appreciate the fact that I was missed (or at least stories about my sexy wife). I hope you all are doing well and having some fun.

Thanks for checking in, Slugger! You are one of the regulars, and with a seemingly more interesting life day to day than I -- I missed you! Hope we all have more interesting lives once this lockdown is lifted!

Again, I appreciate it! However, I am not sure how interesting my days are now. I almost feel like watching Groundhog Day everyday.

This is wearing thin

I am getting fed up with this, but I know it's for the greater good. I could handle it better if I thought we would be returning to normal soon, but it's looking like more of the same until a vaccine is through clinical trials.

It is good to see spurtman and slugger again. I have the same problem, nothing much of interest to post since nothing much is going on at home. I have seen the restaurant outdoor seating starting to fill-up though I have not ventured to any yet.

Patrick, hope you find a new girlfriend soon. Just look at this as an opportunity to explore your options and have fun doing it.

ramoredrake, I agree, the virus is not gone to I expect a second waves to hit at some point until a vaccine is developed to give us that herd immunity.

We have to be the most boring group of people in Maryland since we never have anything interesting going on to talk about. lol. Nothing has really been going on with me to write other than I cannot get this damn polymeric sand to harden up. Will be trying for the third time this upcoming weekend.

Yeah, it's tough to live an exciting life worth sharing while staying in the house all day every day. It's hard to make your monthly Costco run sound interesting, even if it is the highlight of your month.

I'm actually venturing out to Home Depot and installing a closet system this weekend. Should be wild and crazy. I've finished a new story that's currently in the editing phase. It should be out this month. That will be a bigger deal than the Costco trip (for me anyway).

Best of luck with the polymeric sand, Stargazer. What sort of project have got to fill the time?

I’ve had to work during this whole thing (major big box store), and have met some really nice people. The women come out, yoga pants, tight clothing etc, and start conversations. You can tell they missed interacting with people, the guys were starting conversations as well. I think people generally missed interacting with each other, and now as a result have really opened up, and willing to explore.
