Should start harvesting some in a few weeks. Of course all the work and materials to build and plant the garden will make those veggies the most expensive in the world. Lol

I meant that growing these veggies is costing me 10 times more than if I just bought them at the grocery store. Depending on how much comes in, you can have some for free if you can figure out how to get them. Zucchini usually comes in all at once with more than I can eat. The string beans come in pretty steady for a while but I can freeze them. I think the cucumbers come in all at one too. Last year because of the rain the garden did not produce as much as in other years. Anybody else have a veggie garden?

Lol, I know what you mean. It gets to be very involved and can be very pricey to grow your own veggies. That’s why other than the occasional tomato plant, we’ve stopped messing with a garden. I was just teasing you, though I do appreciate the offer

It is fun to grow and pretty cool to see it go from bare ground to full of plants but definitely not cost effective. I do have potatoes coming in too, they are in their own containers. Last night I made Potato-Crusted Salmon with Lemon Beurre Blanc Reduction using potatoes from the garden so actually using the veggies. OMG, I am so boring. lol

So true. My garden looks like I live in Hawaii instead of the Midwest (sorry for being an interloper ) so much rain. Everything is lush.

My garden consists of a deck box of herbs (because I use a lot in cooking) and my husband planted a few jalapeno plants in raised beds. I'm not very good at gardening- I want to be, but my soil is so rocky and I'm bad about watering. The only thing I've had success with was pumpkins. I feel like they are difficult to screw up!

Women should love me then since I can be anal about something when I work on it. lol. I have a lot of projects going on right now so I will post some pic of things as I finish things.

I'm not very good at gardening- I want to be, but my soil is so rocky and I'm bad about watering. The only thing I've had success with was pumpkins. I feel like they are difficult to screw up!

I used pvc pipe and screen to build the barrier around the boxes to keep the dogs and other critters from getting in the garden. I just turn the soil and fertilize at the start of each season and things grow great. You can see the boxes in my pics. You can buy the kits to build the raised bed gardens too though I built mine from scratch to match my dimensions and needs. You can also run one of those micro watering systems to the garden to make watering easy. I have a couple of those micro watering runs in my backyard to water the different planters. Just bury the pipe and nobody can see it. Easy peasy.
