MD, DC, VA Roll Call

Welcome to the thread! I'm not really a DC local, so I can't give any help on where to hang out. I do know that the 9:30 Club has great concerts and is a fun place to be from time to time.

Well.. I myself am not a DC local. i stay 15 miles off DC... since DC is nearest i thought it would be cool to hang out there.. and i dont find much places to hang out in the place i live..... anyways thanks for the reply....

I tend to stay out of DC myself, unless there's a damn good reason for me to be there. Annapolis, Baltimore, or Salisbury are my usual haunts.

why?? is DC such a bad hangout place??? or does it suck sooo much??

I'm just not big into the city scene. Plus I live over an hour away from DC, so if I were going to hang out somewhere it'd be closer to home and some place without the driving/parking headaches.

Ha ha ha.. I agree with the parking headaches in DC.. it is not worth driving in a car there.. I prefer the metros when i visit DC. Anyways, do you know anything near the Vienna, Mc Lean or Falls Church area???

Nope, sorry. I'm on the other side of MD, near the Atlantic Ocean. ;)

Did everyone have a great weekend? It was a lot of traveling in three days for me, but I had so much fun, so it was well worth it.

Sounds fun! There's a nice tiki bar near here, Big Owl's I think its called. Down in the Kent Narrows, under the bridge. You should check that one out sometime.

Dc

As a Baltimorean I can easily recommend places here, but my DC time was years ago. Although I have been going to The Palace of Wonders- a burlesque bar-recently. I have friends in Georgetown and Adams Morgan both of which are cool neighborhoods. Wow I just realized most of my DC hangout time was in college, twenty years ago...omg I am in danger of becoming a puma or a cougar. Welcome to the area!

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend...mine was going well until my phone was stolen this evening. My entire world was in that phone, pics, notes, texts, contact for everyone in my universe...I feel like my conjoined twin died, utterly bereft.

Welcome back EG and sorry to hear about your phone. It is amazing how much people's lives are intertwined with their phones though not sure if it is for the better sometimes. Colorado is definitely dry. The front plains of Colorado (Denver, Colorado Springs) is a high plains desert. Not a whole lot of water out there. I know when I moved out to Colorado Springs, air conditioning was just an option when buying a new house.

I went to a Chinese/Korean wedding on Saturday. It was very interesting. They would say something in English and then turn around and repeat it in Korean since the wedding was in a Korean church. They had some great Korean food at the reception. It was a lot of fun.

Shadow, not sure what kind of place you are looking for? How old are you? You want a wild place or a more subdued place to have a beer and people watch? I have not been downtown DC in quite a while.

Hope everybody is doing great.

I spent the weekend in beautiful Santa Monica, where the weather is sunny, 80 and the beach is perfect. However, I do miss DC--something to be said about East Coast women...

Rope

Well it is true, pumas date 1-8 years younger and cougars are 8+ years, if I began hanging out in DC again there i'd be in big cat territory.

I think that must make me a puma as well, as my hubby is 7 years younger than me. :) Although, I hadn't realized there was a difference.

Women are so lucky. They can date younger guys and get cool nicknames. If an older guy can even find a younger woman to date he is just called a dirty old man. lol.

Exactly! Such a double standard these days... :D

agreed

Boobies automatically qualify us for all sorts of cool things, tis true.

And I have to point out that the older men I have dated in my life had a number of cool nicknames,Sir, Dom,Daddy...although I suppose younger guys could earn the same nicknames.

I personally had decided to only date older men when I separated, I thought they would be more compatible, yet certain events have changed my mind as of late.

See?!? That's what you get for making up your mind ahead of time! :D

Always go into things with an open mind, that's what I say. They you rarely miss an opportunity for some misbehavin'! ;)

ok ok

I have walked with a open mind for months now, in fact since the separation I have dated a few people and only one was older. And as of late I have been even more open to new experiences, new personal goal as a matter of fact. Allowing my inner wench free reign these days is a sure way to guarantee some misbehavin' I hope.

Ok about the show it is poetry and spoken word and a little burlesque at a small local theater.
