Nice pub

can anyone point me in the direction of a nice country pub ?
I am trying to organise a meeting for a buch of single motorcyclists and need to find a place for us to meet, checked out Healsville last weekend and found it full of yuppies, Launching place pub was great but I would prefer a place with a caravan park near by for those that want to make a weekend of it.

if it was that easy i would have done it years ago! seriously i was on about a 3 a month diet until about mid last year-it's petered off since then. we have been together a long time-maybe she's sick of me

the healsville/yarra glen area has too many wineries in it-hence the yuppies! lilydale might be better-not exactly country but a few pubs to choose from and a caravan park not far away. might even be a pub in wandin or seville-neither is far from the same caravan park which is on the warburton highway not far from it's intersection with maroondah hwy. come to think of it launching place is only a 1/2 hour away from that caravan park. i guess first thing to do would be make sure it's still there-it was called pine hill caravan park from memory. maybe launching place hotel then ride as a group down there? also if memory serves me right theres a small van park in yarra junction which is the next town from launching place-i know nothing about it but i think it's on the river-i'll find out and let you know

ok nostress-the one in yarra junction is called boon reserve caravan park and is melways ref 288 D5. pine hill caravan park in lilydale (just-it's almost wandin north) is melways 118 E5. hope all this helps

Thanks for all that Wombat, I will check out the Lilydale area for sure, I dont want the park to far from the pub so we dont have problems with people trying to ride after a few drinks, if there is a park in Yarra Junktion that should work well. none of us have meet before so the plan is just a pub lunch but some near by accomadation for the ones who want to make a weekend of it

could always stay in the pub-most country pubs have accomadation. lilydale area is my old stomping ground-i grew up there so know my way round although it's changed alot since then
