Hi all,
Im a newbie to melbourne - I have stayed in the new metropol (I think it was Dee who asked if anyone had?) and it was very nice. Very similar to the Promenade, but a bit more modern and the extras (pool/day spa/restaurant) are a bit nicer, but also a bit pricier! I have stayed at the Crown several times in the last year or so - very disappointed that I never bumped into you Dee
Just wanted to pop in here and say hi as I would love to get to know some more people over here
Chris

oh the Metropol is a fabulous hotel! we stayed there last year when it first opened. wasn't too impressed with Gordon Ramsey's eatery though.
we still like the Promenade the best. pricey yes, but not as pricey as the Crown.
Welcome to the Big Smoke![]()
No - real foot ball (soccer) - with grid iron you use hands more than feet

Thanks for the welcome
I have to agree with your comment about Maze (Gordon Ramseys restaurant). I love my food, and ran a restaurant for a while in NZ so I was looking forward to the experience. Ah well, plenty of other amazing places to eat over here!
how cool that you ran a restaurant
when we go to Crown, we usually just eat at the East West. food is fast and tasty. The King's Buffet is really good too, if you can ever figure out where they keep moving it. it hasn't been in the same place the last 2 times we were there lol
I have been to Spice Temple a couple of times and loved that..will have to check out these others (If I can find them! How funny that they keep moving the Kings Buffet).
Yeah running the restaurant was great fun, and I learnt a lot about cooking etc. Quite a change from my current career choice of IT management

ah my bad then
grid iron is more hands more feet more slaps on the ass![]()

hmmmm i'll have to drag Flamey to Spice Temple next time we're there. i don't think i've ever seen it.
that IS quite a change.....cooking vs IT management. lol if it were me, i'd stick to cooking LOL
off to get tea on the table. have a great night, cmaguire![]()

and more time between plays
but despite that I quite enjoy watching it - what team do you follow Jail
only when the refs decide to toss the penalty flags for the helluvit
hmmm well in american football (NFL) i always liked the San Francisco 49'ers.
in Canadian football (CFL) my heart is with my hometown team Calgary Stampeders
always been a Notre Dame fan in NFL
well Notre Dame is actaully college football, but there have been a few great players who graduated from that uni. most notably Doug Flutie![]()
