Tennis is over..... Sailing is almost over.....Victory's season has finished and the Cricket is interstate.... I wonder whether we will see anyone back here........

Tidal lakes.... now that's a new one.....


Rivers....creeks....


I guess that the Gippsland Lakes are tidal though... but I don't qualify those as a fresh water lake in the Lake Colac, or Eucambene, Cairn Curran, Hume kinda way.....

I'm talking about Westernport, silly....but of course Gippsland also qualifies...:rolleyes:

So ... in sailing vernacular is a waterway a somewhat protected stretch of water (ie Westernport, Port Phillip) as opposed to open water? (ie Bass Strait, Tasmans Sea etc)

:)in a nutshell....you've almost got it! A waterway is an enclosed area of water such as a lake, river, channel or a bay. Open water is anything from 2.5 miles offshore. In between its called coastal waters.
 
If you selectively glance back through the pages, you might discover that often the main topic of conversation was the weather.

This happened mainly because the person who kicked this thread into life was a sailor so it was often his first observation to "the world" in general as he would have rather been out on the deck of a 30 footer than stuck at his computer.

I know how that feels...there have been many times where I've been caught out examining the wind cinditions when I should have been doing something more work related...:rolleyes:

...at the risk of sounding crude...bottom. Butt. Behind. Never have been able to resist a nice bum... Then there are blueys of course, and long hair:) and the list goes on...

I have to admit a certain fondness for a particular redhead....but then he lived up to the "promise"......
