There are also the utility kilts made of a canvas type material, and while they appear kilt like there are usually some fairly significant changes from tradition kilts. Some even have pockets


I wear them whenever and wherever. The only time I refrain from wearing them at work would be meetings with customers etc. While it not against any guidelines for my job, most people assume a suit to make a good impression.

I could get used to seeing this every day. It makes sense about the business meetings, you need to look and be professional. Not to say that I think kilts aren't professional, but others would wonder, you know?

I have seen that some look down on the canvas kilts as not "really a kilt". I'm not sure where I stand at the moment. Traditional seems more pleasing to my eyes.

well I have worn formal kilts to events before and most people are receptive, but there are always those out there that have an issue for some reason. I wore a formal kilt on Christmas and went roller blading after while my family was having fun at my expense haha.
