This morning's sunrise over the Indian River Lagoon, gave up my third cup of coffee for this shot:)

Worth giving up coffee for a week for that view-absolutely stunning picture.

You are bolder than I, being from the sub-tropics such cold would be unbearable to me.......How long can you last out there before beating a retreat?:)
You and me both, Brother!
However I would like to observe a full moon in a snow clad landscape.
A "Fool's Moon" on snow or water is stunning!

~kym~ by the light of the moon :)

I have been looking for another opportunity, and the few that have appeared were when I did not have my camera handy.
However if I am persistant I hope to get another as good or even better. I would give up many cups of coffee if I could get more of those.:)

Just around the corner is spring, some of the migratory birds are showing up here in florida, had Baltimore orioles and Northern parulas in the yard today. :)

I cannot believe I have not been on here since spring.......
Here is a spicebush swallowtail that was resting in the yard today after a shower.

Time to dust this thread off to appreciate the ebb and flow of life.
The yard has been full of migrating warblers the past few days, last night when I stepped outside the migration could be heard as the cries of many birds passing in the night, voices calling near and far. I wish I had looked at the radar. It was nice to succor the travelers as in the day they busily foraged on insects, fruits and nectar in the yard. Some hovered like hummingbirds in front of flowers as they sipped the nectar. Butterflies are starting to put in an appearance as well.

Hello John, any pictures to share? I'm hoping you have time to take and post some. :rose:

Dusk of Dawn on the Indian River Lagoon

This photo was taken after Hurricane Jean and Hurricane Frances, all the piers got swept away. Some have been rebuilt since this photo was taken.

Sitting by the ocean..watching the sunset and listening to the waves ;)

A beautiful sunset virgin_not. :) It reminds me of an island I went to in the Bahamas when I was a child, most of the island was rocky but on the east side of the island was this beautiful beach with white sand framed by coconut palms as you walked on the path to get there you could hear the waves distantly at first and then when you topped a final rise, the scene would hit you bathed by the sound of the waves and the smell of salt, warm tropical breeze kissing your skin.

That is the one thing my parents really gave to me, they took me to some beautiful places. I have them stored away in my head once in a while a hidden treasure of a memory seeps out.
The island has since become a stop for ocean liners, you can imagine how different it must be now.

I'm going to look for the pictures I took in Mazatlan last summer. They are no where near this good, but whenever I look at them I'm reminded of a wonderful time.
