New Poll Numbers!

Let me guess. they arent allowed to marry, business can refuse to serve them, and there is a deadly fear of them in the military?

Their reproductive rights are hobbled and they are actively discouraged from entering male dominated careers?

If you really care so much, stop voting for the party that supports Sharia law.. big hint, they arent the Dems
AND HAVE BABIES.

phrodeau writes: "If you really want to be pedantic, Gore was the former VP of the ‘93-‘97 term, and the current VP of the ‘97-‘01 term."

Yes, phrodeau, but using that same logic, on Inauguration Day 1997, Al Gore became a FORMER vice president, despite the fact that he was STILL serving in that same capacity. It really makes no sense to describe it in that way.

I don't know WHY Dan chose to get stuck on this. Gore was ONLY a former vice president AFTER Bush & Cheney took office! And so he remains to this day!

Since this topic is about "New Poll Numbers," the very latest has FORMER vice president Joe Biden continuing to lead a truly pathetic field of Democratic Party nobodies with 34.7%... Bernie remains in second with 17.7% (the two OLD WHITE GUYS together have 52.4% of their party's support)... Liz Warren's at 9.8... Kamala's at 8.0... Buttigieg's at 6.2... Beto is 3.7... Cory Booker's at 2.0... with the remaining twenty candidates sharing the remaining 18%.

So let me get this straight... you WANT gays to be treated with respect here in the U.S. - but you ALSO want Islamic values & beliefs to be treated with greater respect? When was the last time an American judge ordered a gay man stoned to death or thrown off of the roof of a five-story building? Has anybody ever asked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) or any of those other Muslims the Democratic Party is trying to send to Washington what they think of Islamic Sharia Law vs. our U.S. Constitution?

So let me get this straight, I have in no way whatsoever espoused Islamic values yet you have ascribed them to me merely because I am tolerant of them.Being tolerant of something does not mean I want something to have greater respect... you come across as believing tolerance is treating something with greater respect.. which is called fear if not outright bigotry

You've assigned me a position and then criticized me for having it. The point I am making is that conservative values are far more in line with Islamic values then you are clearly comfortable with

Restricting womens and LGBT rights is a Sharia value. It is also a Rapepublican value

own it

Interesting point of view. I wonder what Republican women have to say about that.

Former Rapepublican presidential nominee Michelle Bachmann is on record saying she would differ to her husband on all things...when asked if she if she became president would she ask her husbands permission to make executive decisions....she didnt answer the question

YDB95 writes: "Except when the Dems picked up 40 house seats, some of them in blood-red states like Oklahoma and Utah."

Yes, two-years into the Trump presidency the Democratic Party picked-up FORTY House seats, while the REPUBLICANS picked-up TWO-seats in the all-important U.S. Senate (that legislative body which confirms the president's appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court!)

Or, put another way, the Democrats won 26 of the 35 Senate seats that were up for grabs, and also got 59% of the Senate vote nationwide.

Furthermore, anti-Trump senators McCain, Corker, & Flake all LEFT, only to be replaced by G.O.P. senators who SUPPORT this president

Flake was replaced by Krysten Sinema, not only a Democrat but also a bisexual agnostic - certainly no friend of Trump or his base. McCain was replaced by a pro-Trump Republican - but not by an election (not only was she not elected to that seat, but she had just LOST the election for the AZ's other seat to Sinema!). As for Corker, he voted for Mr. I-Like-Beer (and yes, he was replaced by an even more doctrinaire Republican, but that was in a dark red state - not exactly a surprise or a sign of any changing trends.)

(with the sole exception of RINO Mitt Romney, elected in Utah!) So when Ruth Bader-Ginsberg is replaced/retires shortly, Trump will have a much easier time getting the necessary votes to confirm her replacement onto our nation's highest court, and the U.S. House of Representatives will be powerless to stop it!
I wouldn't be so sure she's going to give up as easily as you obviously want her to.

But your point was trying to show that Trump was somehow humiliated in 2018, correct? After all, forty-seats is a LOT! Back in 2010, President Obama's party lost 63-House & 6-Senate seats, while in 1994 President Clinton's Democrats lost 54-House & 8-Senate seats! And weren't those two both re-elected two-years later? You know, I believe that they were! So 2018 probably won't mean all that much in relation to 2020.

Certainly it's true that the Dems shouldn't take anything for granted. But I never said they should. Besides, one reason why they both won re-election was that the Republicans overplayed their hands after their big midterm wins. While I'm sure anything short of kissing Trump's ass meets your definition of the same, the Dems really haven't done that.

"No one ever said it was, Dump. That was a scare tactic dreamed up to terrify people like you - and it worked!"

Yes or no, YDB95: is Islamic Sharia Law compatible with our U.S. Constitution in your opinion?

Yes or no, Dump: Did anyone ever actually say it was in the first place? (I'll save you the trouble: no.) Since it's a straw man argument to begin with, it doesn't deserve to be dignified with a response.

No one said that, either. What you're describing doesn't describe mainstream Islamic values and beliefs any more than shooting doctors in their own churches or firebombing mosques reflects mainstream Christian values.

Has anybody ever asked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) or any of those other Muslims the Democratic Party is trying to send to Washington what they think of Islamic Sharia Law vs. our U.S. Constitution?

That would be exactly like asking all Christian members of Congress to justify every last directive in the Old Testament.

but not by an election (not only was she not elected to that seat, but she had just LOST the election for the AZ's other seat to Sinema!).

It was a political appointment by the governor to complete McCain's term and many people were disappointed since McSally had just lost the election. She ran an extremely dirty campaign and alienated many people, but still the election was close as there are many Republican voters in AZ.

Yes, but we all know what Dumpington thinks of context (that it doesn't exist).

Sounds like we were reading two different media back then!

Nope: https://edition.cnn.com/2019/04/09/...ump-claim-obama-separated-families/index.html

About all it could do with Congress held by the party that didn't give a shit.

No one ever said it was, Dump. That was a scare tactic dreamed up to terrify people like you - and it worked!

Yes, and I know which American political party it's far more similar to. (Hint: it's not the one you're about to scream about.)
it is the terriostic democrat party, that would enslave America as dictators they are.

I'm a bit anti-Semite.

As you know dump you've gotten busted and posted a whole big anti-Jewish screed. You also know I don't answer questions from racists so I'm going to give you an F here.

I notice you didn't bother with the fact that Democrats have won the popular vote in 4 of the last 5 elections. Another F for you, anti-Semite dump.

badbabysitter writes: "So let me get this straight, I have in no way whatsoever espoused Islamic values yet you have ascribed them to me merely because I am tolerant of them."

If you support the Democratic Party today, you HAVE to support the following six things or else your fellow liberals are not going to take you seriously: 1) ISLAM - the Democrats seriously want more Islamic culture in America today; 2) ATHEISM - with the exception of Islam, the modern Democratic Party wants fewer religious (Judeo-Christian) values & beliefs in America today; 3) TRANSGENDERED POLITICS - modern liberals increasingly deny the science of biology in promoting their new politically-correct view of genders; 4) ILLEGALS - modern liberals want open borders where Mexican nationals can freely enter our country, receive government hand-outs, and then cast votes for Democrats (although if those incoming Mexicans oppose abortion or transgendered-rights they'll be quickly returned to Mexico!) 5) SOCIALISM - you can't be a Democrat today without wanting a socialist economy! 6) ABORTION - this is #1 on the list of everything that the modern Democratic Party stands for & supports! If you're against abortion then the Democratic Party no longer wants you around!

"Restricting womens rights is a Rapepublican value"

Does the modern Democratic Party believe that LEGALIZED PROSTITUTION is a women's right? After all, it's a woman's own body that she's selling for money, right? And the Democrats insist that the Republicans have NO RIGHT to tell a woman what she can do with her own body, correct?

YDB95 writes: "Or, put another way, the Democrats won 26 of the 35 Senate seats that were up for grabs, and also got 59% of the Senate vote nationwide."

So what is your point? Are you agreeing with me that when Ruth Bader-Ginsberg retires we all need to RESPECT the will of the U.S. Senate in confirming the man or woman named by President Trump to replace her? Because it should be a whole lot easier than was confirming Judge Brett Kavanaugh, what with those additional Republican votes!

"Flake was replaced by Krysten Sinema, not only a Democrat but also a bisexual agnostic - certainly no friend of Trump or his base."

McCain was initially replaced by conservative John Kyl, with pro-Trump Republican Martha McSally now holding his U.S. Senate seat! I would argue that replacing Trump-haters McCain & Flake with (bisexual agnostic) Sinema & McSally is a net-gain for Trump!

"Yes or no, Dump: Did anyone ever actually say it was in the first place? (I'll save you the trouble: no.) Since it's a straw man argument to begin with, it doesn't deserve to be dignified with a response."

It would seem that we are both in AGREEMENT that Islamic Sharia Law has NO PLACE in American laws or culture! I applaud you for recognizing that!

"What you're describing doesn't describe mainstream Islamic values and beliefs any more than shooting doctors in their own churches or firebombing mosques reflects mainstream Christian values."

There are NO Christian churches in America today advocating shooting abortion doctors or firebombing mosques or churches! NONE! But yes, there are a great MANY mosques around the world where hatred of Christianity, western values, & America is preached & advocated! Your moral equivalence is non-existent.

dan_c00000 writes: "Everybody on this forum who doesn't share my deep hatred of Trump & his supporters is a racist Nazi bigot!"

Yes, Dan, and we thank your for your participation. By the way, Al Gore was the vice president of the United States on election day, 2000. :D

No President without prior political experience has ever won re-election.

phrodeau writes: "No President without prior political experience has ever won re-election."

But being the president IS holding political office, phrodeau! Trump now HAS legitimate political experience!

I believe that what you MEANT to say is that no president without prior political OR MILITARY experience has ever won re-election.

George Washington never held political office before being elected president. Neither did William Henry Harrison, Ulysses S. Grant, or Dwight D. Eisenhower. All of those men (except William Henry Harrison) won re-election.

Before Trump came along, EVERY American president had either been a governor, senator, congressman, or a general before winning the presidency! Trump ended that in 2016, and the success of his first-term will make it a whole lot easier for him to win re-election in 2020!

Who can ever forget in the immediate aftermath of election night, 2016 - the stories about frightened gay, black, & Islamic Americans fearing for their very lives! How STUPID do those fears appear today? The ONLY group that has a valid right to be seriously afraid remains the ABORTION INDUSTRY in America, as Trump's threat against those pushing for legalized infanticide is very real!

Washington - VA House off Burgesses, First and Second Continental Congress.
W H Harrison - Governor of Indiana Terr., Rep. and Senator from Ohio.
Grant - Sec’y of War.
Eisenhower - Governor of US-controlled Germany.

I thought you knew about this stuff.

phrodeau writes: "Washington - VA House off Burgesses, First and Second Continental Congress... W H Harrison - Governor of Indiana Terr., Rep. and Senator from Ohio... Grant - Sec’y of War... Eisenhower - Governor of US-controlled Germany."

Okay, let's go through these one at a time... George Washington NEVER held elective office in the U.S. House or Senate before he was elected president. NOR was Washington ever the governor of any U.S. state!

William Henry Harrison was APPOINTED governor of the Indiana territory by President John Adams, which was NOT a U.S. state at that time!

You falsely claim that Ulysses S. Grant was Secretary of War, which is ALSO NOT an elective office! Grant was an army GENERAL, and NOT a politician!

And Ike was NOT elected commander-in-chief of all allied forces in the European theater - that's another position to which a person is APPOINTED by the president of the United States! It's NOT a political/elective office, phrodeau!

Using your OWN convoluted logic, when Donald Trump became the president of The Trump Organization in 1971, that means he had executive experience before his 2016 presidential run!

"I thought you knew about this stuff."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Actually it was 6 of the past 7. But Dump no doubt has ironclad proof that it was all due to illegal immigrants.

Actually it was 6 of the past 7. But Dump no doubt has ironclad proof that it was all due to illegal immigrants.

Would those illegal immigrants be ones escaping Germany to avoid the draft there to enter through Canada to open a brothel and later slum tenements where they racially discriminated and were convicted of doing so? Just the immigrants we want--ones who aren't little brown people, bankrupt every company they start, become blackmailed assets of foreign powers, and tramp on the U.S. Constitution.

YDB95 writes: "Actually it was 6 of the past 7. But Dump no doubt has ironclad proof that it was all due to illegal immigrants."

Regarding the Electoral Vote (which, according to our U.S. Constitution, is all that matters), the Democratic Party's candidates have won 40% of our nation's last ten presidential elections. Republican candidates have won the other 60%.

Right now, the Democrats are attempting to give the nation of Mexico sixty electoral votes so that our illegal immigrant population can at last be counted in our nation's electoral process, despite them NOT being citizens of the United States (which Dems feel is unimportant).

KeithD adds: "Would those illegal immigrants be ones escaping Germany to avoid the draft there to enter through Canada to open a brothel and later slum tenements where they racially discriminated and were convicted of doing so?"

No, Keith, our nation doesn't have a problem with illegals sneaking in from Germany and entering the U.S. through Canada to open brothels. If we DID, I'm sure that we'd have heard about that before now.

"Just the immigrants we want--ones who aren't little brown people, bankrupt every company they start, become blackmailed assets of foreign powers, and tramp on the U.S. Constitution."

No, Keith, the color of their skin isn't the issue here. The key to dealing with immigration involves the two words: LEGAL and ILLEGAL - Republicans are all about people coming here LEGALLY, while a considerable number of Democrats seemingly prefer those sneaking into our nation ILLEGALLY!

Cute how you tacked on the previous three elections before the time frame I was talking about, since that bumps up the Republicans' average substantially. But what happened 31 to 39 years ago really doesn't have a whole lot to do with what's happening today.

Right now, the Democrats are attempting to give the nation of Mexico sixty electoral votes so that our illegal immigrant population can at last be counted in our nation's electoral process, despite them NOT being citizens of the United States (which Dems feel is unimportant).

Nothing racist at all here, nope, not at all...

You're kidding, right? You DO know whom KeithD is alluding to here, don't you?

"Just the immigrants we want--ones who aren't little brown people, bankrupt every company they start, become blackmailed assets of foreign powers, and tramp on the U.S. Constitution."

No, Keith, the color of their skin isn't the issue here.

If that were true, you'd be screaming for a wall on the Canadian border too. But you just got done saying you don't care about that (although the real point in that exchange was so far over your head God herself probably had to duck).

The key to dealing with immigration involves the two words: LEGAL and ILLEGAL - Republicans are all about people coming here LEGALLY, while a considerable number of Democrats seemingly prefer those sneaking into our nation ILLEGALLY!
As did the ancestors of almost all white Americans if you reach back far enough. Besides, it's not that we want to just let anyone in who comes in; it's the selective outrage and the treating them like chattel instead of human beings - and most of all, the bashing of even legal immigrants or natural-born Americans of Latinx descent.

YDB95 writes: "Well, you've certainly got me there, Dump. A Republican won 35 years ago, ergo another one is sure to win next year. Can't possibly argue with that."

It's an historical fact. The LAST time the Democratic Party ran a FORMER U.S. Vice President as its presidential candidate was in 1984, and that former (NOT current) vice president was Walter Mondale. Mondale got CLOBBERED in the popular vote, 58.77 to 40.56%, he lost 49 of the fifty-states, and the electoral vote total went against him by a margin of 525 to 13 (the all-time most lopsided defeat ever!)

If the Democrats run former vice president Joe Biden in 2020, you can expect more of the same. Joe has NEVER been a successful presidential candidate, not even within his own party. But who else has that party got who can beat him? Bernie Sanders? (I don't think so!)

For the record, the last time the Republican Party ran a former (not current) vice president was way back in 1968, when former V.P. Richard Nixon faced the current Vice President, Hubert Humphrey. Nixon defeated Humphrey, 43.42 to 42.72% in the popular vote, and 301 to 191 in the electoral college (third-party candidate George Wallace won 13.53% of the popular vote, and 46 electoral votes - which was also the LAST time a third-party candidate won any electoral votes!)

phrodeau writes: "He's certainly an improvement. Most of them can't spell the names properly."

Yes, phrodeau - but that's only because proper spelling is important to me. Not everybody feels that way!

Actually, third party candidates, including Faith Spotted Eagle, DID win a few electoral votes in 2016. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_United_States_presidential_election
