New Poll Numbers!

Your opinion of George McGovern is irrelevant. Either Jimmy Carter was the first Democrat to lose the South or he wasn't. And here you admit that he wasn't, which directly contradicts what you have said so often before. (McGovern wasn't the first one to lose it either, incidentally.)

It depends on what is meant by "losing the South" and what is meant by Democrat. LBJ won six states in 1964 and Goldwater won five. In 1968, Humphrey won only one southern state (Texas) which certainly isn't "winning the South." Nixon won five and George Wallace, who had been a Dem. until he started his own party (The AIP) also won five. Carter won ten states in 1976 and, since then, the GOP has dominated, even when the Dems nominated southerners such as Carter, Clinton and Gore.

I don't see why, when it's seven months to the first primary and most voters aren't really paying attention yet. Or could it be that you just really, really want Biden to be the nominee?

Right, you really have your finger on what everybody to the left of Attila the Hun wants there, Dump.[/QUOTE]

What children?

To what, exactly, are you referring by this?

That's the problem when you only watch Fox "News" you don't actually get any news.

First, there are the children you and Trump help to kill because of his immigration policy.

Second, there are the children in Yemen that you and Trump help to kill because of a horrific war. A war which Trump opted not to end and you sat by silently.

Maybe you ought to look at something beyond your racist sources and bank account and see what you're supporting when you're only "kind of" repulsed by this.

Poll: 74 percent of Americans say former Trump officials should obey congressional subpoenas

Nearly three-quarters of registered voters, 74 percent, said they believe that former senior White House officials should be required to testify before Congress when they are subpoenaed, according to the poll. Just 26 percent said they believe that former officials should not have to testify.

Majorities of every demographic group sampled in the May 24-25 poll came down strongly against the idea of allowing ex-White House officials to evade congressional subpoenas. Even Republicans, by a margin of 61 to 31 percent, said that former administration officials should testify before Congress when they are asked to appear.

Odd that 26% is about the level of Republicans in the nation. Yet 61% of Repugs agreed that they should testify.

YDB95 writes: "Your opinion of George McGovern is irrelevant. Either Jimmy Carter was the first Democrat to lose the South or he wasn't."

There have been TWO presidents in our nation's history to win 49-state LANDSLIDE victories (both were incumbent Republicans): Richard Nixon in 1972 and Ronald Reagan in 1984. BOTH men swept the American south, but at different levels!

In 1972, the south was STILL dominated at the state & local levels by the Democratic Party. Voting for Nixon was largely the result of NOBODY liking the Democratic Party's presidential candidate (think of George McGovern like a combination of Beto, Kamala, & Buttigieg!) But the south remained Democrat, as was clearly illustrated just four-years later when Georgia governor Jimmy Carter swept the entire region!

But in 1980 & 1984, things were different! Republican Ronald Reagan didn't just SWEEP the American south - he PERMANENTLY took it away from the Democratic Party! The Democrats rarely, if ever, win statewide races there anymore, as nearly ALL of the south's governors & senators today are Republicans! And when a Democrat DOES win (e.g. Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards), he's a pro-LIFE Dem!

"Or could it be that you just really, really want Biden to be the nominee?"

Yes, I do! I think that Trump would DESTROY Biden in 2020! Right now, 'Gropin' Joe' remains the clear front-runner among Democrats at 33.5%... Bernie's a distant second with 16.7... Liz has 8.2... Kamala 7.8... Buttigieg is 6.8... Beto at 3.8... Cory is 2.5... and the remainder of the pack at 1% or less! It's a sorry bunch of nobodies, and Joe Biden remains way ahead of them all!

Boxlicker101 writes (about the south): "Carter won ten states in 1976 and, since then, the GOP has dominated, even when the Dems nominated southerners such as Carter, Clinton and Gore."

Exactly right - Jimmy was the LAST Democrat to win the south - today's it's a G.O.P. stronghold!

Perfect.

Meanwhile...

A majority of Americans believe President Trump will be reelected next year, according to a CNN poll released Wednesday.

The survey, conducted by SSRS from May 28 to May 31, shows that 54 percent of respondents say Trump will win a second term in office....

The most recent poll shows Trump scoring his highest marks on his handling of the economy, with 52 percent approving and 70 percent saying the economy is in good shape....

As a point of comparison on the predictive front, a CNN poll in May 2011 found that 50 percent of respondents said then-President Obama would be reelected. That survey was conducted shortly after Osama bin Laden was killed in a raid led by U.S. Army Special Forces....

I noticed that racist joe had her racist alt dawn "reply". I also noticed that neither of them directly addressed the fact that their hero the Orange Nazi is busy helping murder children.

Goes to show you that men who pretend to be women on the internet never forget their racism.

"Murdering children?" Are you now seriously claiming that President Trump is PRO-CHOICE, Dan? And does this mean that the Democrats are now going to welcome him into their ranks because he's officially PRO-ABORTION? And WHERE exactly did you hear about this? Was it on CNN?

"Goes to show you that men who pretend to be women on the internet never forget their racism."

The modern Democratic Party is ALL ABOUT men-pretending-to-be-women, Dan - and YOU had better be, as well - or else they will label you as a right-wing "trans-phobe!" I'm being 100% serious, Dan! Ever since Barack Obama's ridiculous presidential executive order, the Democrats are America's officially TRANSGENDERED political party!

As for the Dems "forgetting their racism," that's not likely to happen anytime soon - let's not forget that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger had very close connections with the Ku Kux Klan in the American south, back when she was pushing the idea that abortion could keep the American black population in check! And today, Planned Parenthood (and the other abortion providers) essentially run the modern Democratic Party!

Cite please, and make it a good one.

Your link doesn't work. But if it's about the speech she gave to the women's auxiliary in New Jersey, we've already been over that anyway. Dump said she had "very close connections with the Ku Kux Klan in the American south." One speech, in the North, to a group that was affiliated with the Klan but wasn't actually part of it, does not mean she had close connections with the Klan in the South.

And that's not even touching on his claim that she supported the idea that "abortion could keep the black population in check," which is also false.

Please do not concede his premise.

Complete pack of lies

Sanger was asked to speak to men and women of the KKK on birth control, she described it as one of the weirdest moments of her life and had to use the most basic terms possible as if speaking to children. She was asked to speak again , but refused

s for the " keeping the black population in check" is taken from one sentence in a paragraph in a letter to describe what she did not want the black community to think

This is some strange data. 41.78% of those responding are GOP registered and 55.8% are Dems. This is not so strange, since there are more registered Dems than GOP, although the difference is not as big as the diff here. The strange part is: Why are the pollsters asking Dems about a GOP primary? Possibly even stranger is the lack of independent voters - less than 1%, even though there are more independent voters than registrants of either major party.

You do realize that link makes a pretty strong case that she wasn't a racist, don't you?

It could be because some states allow cross-party voting in primaries (registered Democrats can vote in the Republican primaries and vice versa, although that means they can't vote in their own parties' primaries). Given how wide open the Democratic side is, I doubt we'll see too many Dems voting in the Republican primaries, but it sounds like they were only asking about the Republican side here.

YDB95 writes: "You do realize that link makes a pretty strong case that she wasn't a racist, don't you?"

Just because the Ku Kux Klan really liked her - and invited her to speak at their rallies - doesn't automatically make Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger a racist. No, the thing that I believe makes her appear virulently racist is her willingness to use abortion as a means of keeping the black race in check in the American south. She was a very strong advocate for that, which is what especially endeared her to the KKK.

"Given how wide open the Democratic side is, I doubt we'll see too many Dems voting in the Republican primaries, but it sounds like they were only asking about the Republican side here."

Yes, the Democratic Party is currently running a LOT of candidates for its presidential nomination, but I'd HARDLY call it "wide open" as it's already looking like a sure thing for former vice-president Joe Biden, who controls all of the "levers pf power" in that party, in much the same way that Mrs. Clinton did in 2016.

The two old white guys (Biden & Bernie) together have just over HALF of the support of those polled up to this point, with Joe at 33.6%, followed by Bernie at 17.0... then it's Liz holding steady at 7.8, Kamala-7.2, Buttigieg-7.0, Beto-3.8, Booker-2.8, and the rest of the pack trailing with one-percent-or-less apiece!

I can't imagine ANY one of them ever catching up to "Gropin' Joe" Biden, despite his being a TERRIBLE candidate. Before it's all over, I can imagine some Democrats trying to get HILLARY to run again, or even Michelle Obama.

Repetition doesn't prove the truth, Dump. It is an established fact that she did not support abortion for keeping ANY race in check.

He's been losing ground (five points in the last poll I saw) as more people are paying attention. It's seven months to the first primaries. And - once again - you're mostly just seeing what you want to see here. Mind you, I don't know why you want Biden to be the Dem nominee when polls show him beating Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and even Texas(!), but you do you.

Your numbers are out of date. The poll I just saw has Biden in the low 20s, and Warren has pulled even with Sanders (a trend I expect to continue).

I can't imagine ANY one of them ever catching up to "Gropin' Joe" Biden, despite his being a TERRIBLE candidate. Before it's all over, I can imagine some Democrats trying to get HILLARY to run again, or even Michelle Obama.

Heaven knows when I want my finger on the pulse of the Democratic party, I always go straight to Dumpington!

YDB95 writes: "Repetition doesn't prove the truth, Dump. It is an established fact that she did not support abortion for keeping ANY race in check."

No, of course not - Margaret Sanger had NO IDEA that the Ku Kux Klan was a racist organization when she agreed to address their rallies! She probably wanted to talk to them about how Planned Parenthood's abortion services would benefit black mothers by providing the proper health care they'd need to raise healthy families! Poor Ms. Sanger only discovered MUCH LATER that the KKK was in actuality a racist hate group that murdered black people!

"Mind you, I don't know why you want Biden to be the Dem nominee when polls show him beating Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and even Texas(!), but you do you."

"Gropin' Joe" will get seriously landslided by President Trump, and everybody behind the scenes ALREADY KNOWS THIS - but Joe currently controls all of the "levers of power" within the Democratic Party's nomination process, and nobody can take those away. But it's all for naught. Biden remains a terrible candidate, just as he was in 1988 & 2008. Trump will EASILY win re-election in 2020!

"Your numbers are out of date. The poll I just saw has Biden in the low 20s, and Warren has pulled even with Sanders (a trend I expect to continue)."

I would LOVE to see Liz Warren win the nomination, as Trump would beat her even worse than he's going to beat Biden. I sincerely hope you get your wish, and it's Trump vs. Warren in November of 2020 - that would be SO GREAT!

"Heaven knows when I want my finger on the pulse of the Democratic party, I always go straight to Dumpington!"

You joke about it now, but seventeen months from now you'll be saying to yourself: "it all turned out EXACTLY like that Dumpington guy said it was going to be back in June of '19... I wonder how he knew?"

I am familiar with open primaries; CA is one of the states that has one. However, I doubt any Dems will be voting or or against Trump, because it would be a wasted vote, which they would have cast for their favorite. Probably more GOP voters will vote for Dems, either as an act of sabotage or an expression of preference.

And more independent voters should have been included in the poll, since there are so many of them.

She didn't "agree to address their rallies". She spoke at one meeting of the women's auxiliary, and she spoke about birth control, period.

She probably wanted to talk to them about how Planned Parenthood's abortion services would benefit black mothers by providing the proper health care they'd need to raise healthy families!
There is no evidence of that whatsoever. By her own account, she was there to talk about birth control. Not abortion, and certainly not about black people with what was almost certainly an all-white audience.

Poor Ms. Sanger only discovered MUCH LATER that the KKK was in actuality a racist hate group that murdered black people!

Since she was friends with the likes of W.E.B. DuBois (do you even know who he was?), it's safe to assume she knew who and what the Klan were.

"Mind you, I don't know why you want Biden to be the Dem nominee when polls show him beating Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and even Texas(!), but you do you."

No, Dump. If bigotry wins yet another election for the Republicans, I will be extremely disappointed, but I won't be surprised at all. It's how they've been winning elections since 1968, after all.

YDB95 writes: "She didn't "agree to address their rallies". She spoke at one meeting of the women's auxiliary, and she spoke about birth control, period."

You make an excellent point. NOBODY knew, back in the 1920's, that the Ku Kux Klan's women's auxiliary was in any ways racist! I'm quite certain that, had Margaret Sanger (the founder of Planned Parenthood) understood that the KKK's women's auxiliary didn't think of black people as equals, she'd have NEVER addressed their rally! Planned Parenthood especially LOVES offering its abortion services to black women!

"By her own account, she was there to talk about birth control. Not abortion, and certainly not about black people with what was almost certainly an all-white audience."

You know, that "all-white audience" might have been a clue, along with all of the white sheets they were wearing and the burning cross behind the podium. But then again, like you suggest, Margaret Sanger was probably there to explain to the Ku Kux Klan wives about how abortion is ONLY 3% of what Planned Parenthood is all about! And the KKK (dominated by Democrats) probably wanted PP to receive immediate government-funding!

"And you "know" this because...it's what you desperately want to happen. Everyone else can see that, Dump. You're not fooling anyone."

I honestly don't care WHO gets nominated by the Democratic Party in 2020 - I'm not voting for him (Joe Biden) - they have over twenty declared candidates, and each one worse than the next!

"No, Dump. If bigotry wins yet another election for the Republicans, I will be extremely disappointed, but I won't be surprised at all. It's how they've been winning elections since 1968, after all."
