NFL Pick 'Em Pool 2010 is HERE!

There were some weeks last year, I believe, when all home teams won.

I'd say, go random if somebody can't/doesn't pick.

If I had a choice and couldn't pick, I'd definitely prefer to go all home teams. I just don't think it's fair that a no-show could have a relatively good chance to win the week. I realize that could happen going randomly as well, but it's far less likely.

Here's the "stats" after one whole game:

Daddy2, ecstaticsub, masterphoenix, RawHumor, ShyGuy, SW, and WD are all tied with 2 points.

cymbline, Goodgirlfl, and shewolf3003 are close behind with 0 points.

15 games to go this weekend, so the standings will *probably* change somewhat over time.

(ETA: Correct pick = 2 points; tie game = 1 point; incorrect pick = 0 points.)

I considered the home team pick, but since there is a slight, but statistically relevant, advantage (thus, the "home field advantage" cliché - and we all know that clichés become so because there is at least *some* truth to them), I thought it was fairer to *all* the players, at least this week when I haven't been able to yet get in contact with the person who hasn't made his/her picks, to use the random option if he/she doesn't get them in by deadline.

And on that topic: What do y'all think of each player noting in here, ahead of time, whether they want "All Home," "All Visitor," or "Random" picks if a week comes when they miss making their picks for some reason?

I'll go on record that if I don't make my picks on time you can do a "All Home" selection for me.

I was a die-hard Bucs fan from the moment the franchise was approved, attended several games in the '76 and '77 seasons, and camped out overnight to buy tickets and went to the NFC Championship game against the Rams in '79. I attended other games through the years, though not many, as ticket prices kept going up and up and up, even through the 14 straight losing seasons.

I left Tampa for good in late September '02... just in time for them to finally make it to, and win, Superbowl XXXVII. I'm still a fan, though, even if they *did* wait for me to leave town before winning.

LOL Thats funny I moved here in Jan '02 just in time to see them make it to and win the Superbowl. But glad that you are still a fan. I live about 5 miles north of the stadium. Go Bucs!!!!
