Obama: Voter ID Laws Do Not Stop 'our Folks' From Voting

That (says you)...

...and the fact that a limit of 140 characters basically shuts your standard stoner-drivel almost totally down.

Not really I'm just not big on social media/networking shtuff.

And I'm sorry I don't speak in half thoughts and random tidbits of internal dialogue that only make sense 1/2 the time, iggy me if it bothers you so much.

BTW your twitter comment still doesn't make any sense....are you just stabbing in the dark randomly for something?? Or are you just incapable of complete thoughts with context?

Your quoted ramble..."Obviously, Twitter didn't work out for you"..."a limit of 140 characters basically shuts your standard stoner-drivel almost totally down"...

...dots.

And you still can't connect them, stoner.

Nope...I don't read random incomplete thoughts without context. I need complete sentences that convey a complete/coherent thoughts.

Sorry....but I'll try and play your game.

I'll be damned. He got something right for a change.
----------------------------

During an interview with Al Sharpton on his "Keeping It Real," radio show President Barack Obama said voter ID laws do not stop African-Americans from voting which is in stark contraindication to the many cases being pursued by his Justice Department that argue regularly many of the laws are a veiled attempt to diminish African-American turnout.

Obama said, "Keep in mind most of these laws are not preventing the the overwelimgly majority of folks who don't vote from voting. Most people do have and ID. Most people do have a drivers license. Most people can get to the polls."
"But the bottom line is, if less then half of our folks vote, these laws aren't preventing the other half from not voting," he added.

Shouldnt "our folks" be Americans?

I always thought the president represented all Americans.

Yeah. . .maybe someday. But not today and not in all contexts. Frankly Obama's been far too timid on this front.

Party> all else at all times...no exceptions.

In this case it was more a case of race and I don't think it's accurate to say greater. I mean the statement comes down to Obama saying.

Black people don't fucking vote Al. ID laws don't stop motherfuckers who aren't voting from voting.

Should he NOT talk about the issues of and in the black community?

That was really in the context of "I always thought the president represented all Americans" because that's only true in the vaguest of bullshit senses....in the real world the POTUS is just a partisan puppet put into place to try and pee on as much of the other parties parade as possible and get paid like a motherfucker doin' it.

On what you said...

It's worse in the black community for sure (lack of political participation) but it's not really a black community issue....it's an American one. Americans in general don't vote because votes amount to fuck all in american politics....elections are just a dog and pony show to keep the peasants appeased with their delusion that they have a choice in the matter.

You address a few things here that I think are ultimately part of the same whole but kinda need to be broken into more manageable pieces. Starting with the last one.

I think your overstating the pony show a bit. Not completely mind you I agree with much of what you said and if we were talking about Romney vs Obama I think you'd probably be 99% right. If anything Romney would have been better for the nation since he would have recieved less resistance for the exact same actions.

Americans in general do have a voting issue. Amongst other things it's really not nearly as convienent as it might be. I will be over-fucking-joyed when they finally figure out a secure way to do it over the goddamned internet like every other fucking thing. Until then a national holiday would be nice. I don't work and live in the same district. Voting for me (without an absentee ballot) is kind of a pain in the ass. I have to either get off early or wake up retarded early and hope there is no line. And that they didn't move the polling place again, they have a nasty habit of doing that without telling anybody and often to simply dreadful places with no goddamn parking.

However like a lot of problems for various reasons it is greater in the African American community and like most groups of people we don't often talk about the things we are doing wrong that we could easily fix. I'm completely against these Voter ID laws BUT I think Obama makes a solid point. You weren't gonna vote any way, bitch. It's like if they started carding guys buying tampons.

You know, instead of continuing to struggle so much at impossibly trying to make your own confused words sprout forth any sense whatsoever...

...why not just quote my original statement verbatim and start failing all over again?

Word....and yes I ultra super omega oversimplified it. I know this issue has many facets and factors that play into them, so much so you could spend a lifetime studying and writing books about it.

I also totally agree that we should talk about these things more on a national level....so no O bashing from me for bringing the subject up.

The voter ID thing? It's not really blocking voters but it's not really accomplishing much either as the voter fraud rate is probably about as frequent as the "I don't have enough interest in life to get an ID but I'm politically active enough to vote and refuse to ID myself to make a point about I R oppressed." rate....that is to say I think the whole thing is pretty non issue and a total partisan pissing contest.

So I could take or leave the politi-troll shit....it doesn't really effect me at all.

I just wish the overall situation wasn't so fucking sad....

Actually I'll give Obama credit for this. At least he's upfront about only representing "his folk."

No other Prez was so political but Obama is and is obviously proud of it.

No, Obama represents us all you clown.

Obama is only a political as his opponents make hi, the man himself is consistently timid.

It's so cute, Renard...

...reading you render the President of the United States of America - arguably the most politically powerful person in the world - a victim.

You just love that 'hood, eh?

What about that quote implies that President Obama is only representing "his folk"? Maybe you should try reading it again.

"Our folks" = Democrats

Not in this case it's not. In this case our folks clearly meant black folks and was a completely justified statement.

So, when President McKinley spoke about "our Folks"...

...he was representing "us all", too? It's so cute, Renard...

No. Blacks and whites are not in the same place in this country now and certainly not historically. Not that I know the specific quote where McKinley spoke about our folks and he probably was representing all of us at that particular moment.

Yes he is a victim if that is the word you choose. I don't love that hood but I do accept reality.

It's so entertaining reading you do nothing else but continually post straight from your azz...

So, when KKKer McKinley ever spoke of "our folks"...

...you even entertain (let alone state) that "he probably was representing all of us", at any particular moment?

Wtfever happened to the brain you were born with, Renard?
