OOC: It takes a Village...Strategy Game Thread

I am waiting to hear confirmation from one more player to take on the role of leader

I will lead the mighty greeks for u. the spartans will do nicely.

Guys the lady has written something that has to be lived up to....

ScarredSoul82

First great character with solid background. I liked her story and though you made her a leader she is no super powered. Very detailed and I love the pick you selected. You want to call your island Ireland that is fine with me. Only one difficulty with your description....Everybody starts off with the same.

Each player will begin play with a small village consisting of,
100 Soldiers(heavy Infantry Led by 1 captain with horse)
100 Militia (lite infantry led by 1 captain with horse)
500 Peasants (of your culture and can be used for most purposes. Can start any civilian job right way. Seamenship and Military jobs take special training.)
Basic buildings of a village (homes, food storage areas, village walls, boat docks, town hall, temple and work shops)

2 extras to be named at start of thread.
ScarredSoul82 I will have the extras for you soon....they will fit in well with your character's background.

Fortune favors the bold....ScarredSoul82 so I will give you a bonus....The white horse you have in the picture of Caillean. You have it now. It is a gift from the gods and will never tire or age until is passes away (say a life of 30 years). It is a brave animal that is very loyal to to the point it won't let others ride it.

Asterion28 Welcome aboard. Four players now excellent.

Not a problem...You did a good job and decided to make the first move you deserve a bonus.

To the rest of my players I hope to see some new posts soon. I would like to start the real gaming this coming weekend.

Rone is READY!!!

Name: Ryutetsuo
Age: 18

Brief history: Ryutetsuo is the first man to come to power in this newly formed village. He was the strongest fighter in the area and they saw fit to honor him by makeing him their leader. He is a pugilist by nature and sees fit to only use a weapon when nessacary. He is also, strangely, a Pacifist. He is encouraging his men and village to lead the same life and grow from the mind and optain an inner peace for enlightenment instead of the rest of the violent and blood thirsty world. He is fast becomming a strong diplomat. His men train both phyically and mentally, much like the Buhddist Monks. He intends to make them well trained and very smart only to take action when it is nessacary to survive.

Ah okay if that is the route you want to go with your leader. Sounds interesting.

Come on guys two more profiles left to do...

my character, my race, my vision.

sorry it took so long ppl, but here it is:
The spartan race are bred for war. Nothing is more important to them. Numbers are almost meaningless when you come up against a spartan, their passion for victory is the driving force in their lives. Even the pesants working in the field carry a weapon at their side.
The hero? The Mighty Achilles Himself! Son of the mortal Peleus and the Nereid Thetis.Thetis attemptid successfully to make her son immortal. She held the young Achilles by the heel and dipped him in the river styx; everything the sacred waters touched became invulnerable, but the heel remained dry and therefore unprotected.

Is this satisfactory? I dont want to make the leader too invulnerable!

Keeping it real...

You kept things pretty basic with your description. Since I am allowing a very religious group of Monks I see no problem with allowing a warrior race. Just becareful what you wish for as far as a culture. As to your leader do you honestly think youc an have a charactet that is so much more powerful then the rest? The myth that he is Achilles is one thing, but being him is out of the question. A strong robust warrior that is taller then the rest of his peers is more what I think would fit into this story.

You guys want fantasy things...(ex. monsters, Atlantis) Let me know otherwise this just a realm of the war gods all things are similar to your historical realm.

scrap achilles

fair enuf. i can see your point. my description was fairly basic i know, but i will post a bit more in the next day or 2, i promise. I will create a new leader to play as well.

Glad you see it that way...I look foward to alittle more soon. Also one more person has to post then we begin. Thank you everyone for beign patient.

No prob hun, though I am looking forward to starting :)
This gives me time to brainstorm for a first post though ;)

This week your celtic Princess will ride...I promise. I have an idea of how threads will work...kind of a basic setup.

Peaceful Monks ready for an age of prosperity and diplomacy. GO MONKS! I have yet to decide a name for my culture, but I shall have it ready by the time our first action comes around.

Just waiting on one more player and a revise...otherwise we should be ready to launch before the end of the week.

revised edition

Olaf Ironfoundersson was the only child of a blacksmith and a seamstress. His father taught him the craft of smithing from an early age. He forged his own sword at the age of 15 and his father, Eric, taught him a great many things as they worked together, everything from how to raise a family, farming, hunting, politics, religion, reading, writing, history and of course, boat building.
Olaf, now in his late twenties, showed remarkable agility in his use of the sword. his strength and speed has made him a formidable opponent in battle, however, he is a peaceful man at heart and would rather exchange knowledge rather than blows.
His Father passed away when he turned 23, and for the next 5 years he was alone with his mother. during this timeof their shared grief, she taught him her skills. How too look after himself, how to cook a fine meal, repair his own clothes, whick he took to with ease as he had been stitching his own sail cloths for some time.
At 28, he realized that he must now make his own journey into manhood. His mother, financially secure for a while, waved him faewell with tears in her eyes as her son sailed away for the horizon. Returning a year later, he had tales to tell of new lands that he had found, only to find that the village that he called home had been destroyed, only women and children were left. His hunger for travel and discovery was now unstoppable, but he had a responsibility towards his people now for a while.
He still takes care of his mother, but now he also has a village to keep...

Okay if you wish to start off that way it is fine my me....you have but 50 men you sailed with elite heavy infantry....plenty of women and children though. You also have ONE ocean going longboat. They can do peasant work....it will take longer if you wish women to be warriors since they are untrained.

One last player to respond and we start.....if not we will be starting this weekend....I will reveal what surprise there are to help you start.

So it begins

The main site for playing is opened!!! Let the war begin

The action is ready to start but.....

I have three brave players but there are still many races left for someone to take command in the islands of the War Gods.....110 islands....armies waiting to be led.....You really want to sit this one out?

You all like roleplaying characters....why not characters with Armies?? Step up to the challenge...the number of strategy games being sold tells me your out there...

I am also thinking a squad/platoon leader game....let me know people.....

Sharpen your blade.....take up your banner and mount your horse.....for we are going to battle!

The first turn has been played out....other races are still open to play.....any takers?

I have seen many of you play warriors......try being a general.

Into Turn Two

Well there are still slots open for players......if you want a group that has been taken or have another in mind let me know. Something can be worked out. More players more enemies, more allies....more fun.

I am very sorry but you will have your next turns shortly...more involved more to figure out. Ilike what I have read and you will see what yoru decisions bring shortly.......Here is a samplle though. Asians: You will see Sails of the WarJunks in the bay. Celts: Your intelligence gather shall bare fruit...is it what you want to hear though. Vikings....head hunters are going to be the least of your problems.....the island is far from empty.

I know my players are up tot he task, but they can always use more allies.......any takers? We are still early in the game.

hey I was reading your "Risk" thread and I figured Why not , Im not much for warfare, but I love roleplaying, It would be a challenge and if your up for it I'll play the Egyptians. :)

I have a character in mind but its not a leader, but the daughter of the leader of his village?

Rozes
