OOC: Loa Blood

After the Coda shipment (soon, it's coming), I want to skip ahead a few months.

Won't that stunt the current melding of character develment? I mean the coda group just got together and have to flesh out how their team is going to operate, Mary and Kell have an uneasy truce at best, blah blah blah etc.

?????????????

Hmm. Good point. I was thinking people might want to skip some of that stuff. Just tune out for a few months of in-game time, and now everyone knows each other a little better. I want to keep the plot moving, and find it unrealistic for major events to keep happening on a daily basis. I also want the characters to grow in skill and power, but not over the course of a few days.

I'm totally not wedded to skipping ahead. What does everyone else think? Maybe we'll just skip weeks instead of months? Or wait a little longer for the relationships to gel, and then skip ahead? I'd like feedback on this.

Anyway, the Coda shipment still isn't for another three days in-game, which may mean a month out of character, at the rate we've been going. Still inching towards the Twelve concert and Nikki's death scene.

So we have some time to think about it.

I guess the fumes from remodeling my house during my out-of-a-job time are going to my head!

I read your post and just didn't put it together that he was stareing at the phone booth outside the same cafe! :(

Truthfully?

I need to look for work but am having a hard time getting myself to do it. I don't want to work for other people anymore, and can't afford to start my own business.

The heat has been unbearable lately...between 70-95 In ALASKA! and my allgeries have been really kicking in, which doesn't help me get movtivated in that department.

I pick up my last check from work tomorrow, and it'll be about 700 which will carry me a month if I'm careful. Then, I'm busted.

Sometimes I wonder why my life didn't turn out the way I planned? I'd marry some nice pipeline worker who I saw two months out of six and live in a nice middle class house rasieing kids and writing books.

Oh well, if wishes were horses we'd be drowning in shit. :p

Other than that I"m peachy keen!:D

i'm working my ass off delivering mail in 100o heat.
so far lit is my social life, but with the friends I know on here, i don't mind in the least.
If you need someone to talk to hon, just PM me & I can talk, or listen as needed.

No worries sweetums.

It's just life, and we all get over it.

I have great friends who make life worth living. Like the girl who's helping me remodel. She just spent the last four days with us and bought the paint and we just dug in. Her boyfriend fixed the hole in the floor, and another friend brought over a washer and dryer to replace mine.

And then I have friends like you here on Lit who are there to listen to me when I'm whiney and give me succor.

I perfer, myself, to count my blessings rather than my ...oh, what's a good word? And writing stories here and the friendships I've formed and my at home friends make everything bearable.

So, to you, dear sir, a huge  and bunches of :rose: 's shrewn in your path!

And now, back to the bathroom, where I am scrubbing walls!

sorry I haven't been posting much lately everyone.

All I have to say is moving really sucks.

So does switching jobs and going 2 months inbetween paychecks from my regular job and having to work my ass of temping to make up the money.

I'll post as soon as I can.

I have to sympathize with you Abraxas, moving all my stuff in 100+ degree heat was not fun.

Oh man. It's like eighty here in Seattle, and I'm painting walls in an airtight plastic suit.

I can't take it. It's brutal. Somebody just kill me now. >_<

And they haven't even paid me yet!

sorry for the lag, been waiting for something to happen, and it never did, so here is ghost back in action. Again my deepest apoligies for the lag

No worries, great have you back. So I guess Ghost's memories about leaving the underground hospital are confused by his super-speed and Sugar's madness powers.

So, Monolith and Faith are in a park, it could be the same one, and they could see Ghost (although I hate to interupt the nice scene they've got going). Faith would recognise Ghost as one of the escaped Gifted killers Price pointed out in the asylum photos.

Ghost could still go looking for revenge for Marrow Island. As I said, roadsigns clearly point the way to the state captial building and the army base

Or, Ghost could go back to the restaurant and hook up with Pol and the Cold Blood Ninjas. If nothing else, it would be a logical place to look for Sugar.

I do know what probably happened to Sugar. Remember King Dufray saying there were mysterious disappearances of Gifted all over the world? And Hotaru, the healer, disappeared from the hospital just a few days ago . . .

If you want Ghost to connect with some of the other characters, here's some ideas:
-He spots Monolith in the park.
-He turns himself in to the police.
-He goes into the underworld, looking for criminal connections and ways to hide out / live / eat. He finds the Killer Bees and Nikki or finds Frog and Kreigan.
-He goes to the big Twelve concert that night. I'm expecting a lot of the characters to be there.
-He wanders out of town, into the desert, and finds Damien and Merrick.

Anyway, I'm not going to drop any new events or characters on Ghost right now. There's been too much going on in such a short time.

I would love to join in, but there's a wee problem. I simply don't have the time to read the entire thread so far. Therefore, I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a quick summary so I could hop in.

Man do I love it when I come in here and there's a great long scene like that Faith and Monolith scene waiting for me.

Welcome Morgoth! I just wrote you a detailed summary, but your PM box is full. So read the first post of the OOC. The characters are kind of all spread out right now. Post or PM me with a character idea, and we'll find a way to work you in.

Let me stress that whatever you are, you are not a super-hero, yet. Super heroes were only invented yesterday. Be a person with normal motivations, who may or may not have exceptional (but low-powered) abilities. If you have a Loa Gift (super-power), you just got it recently, and should probably be from Dracon Island. So far, the characters are not really working together, so feel free to be a criminal if you want.

If you want to get right into the action, you could be a Ninja squad leader.

Oh yeah, I could use a rock star too.

But any idea is cool.

Why put it in PM Swampy?

After all, we've got some folks comeing back after a while away and about five new people on the boards it might be nice to have it here.....

Right as usual, Succubus

It's an analagous contemporary world. So there's police, pop stars, racism, all the stuff you know from our world, but the shape of the continents and the names of the countries and religions are all different.

About 30 years ago, scientists discovered the bodies of huge aliens (Loa) in the antarctic ice. Apparently, the Loa created earth and seeded it with life, and then left, leaving some of their dead behind. This has upset a lot of religious people, particularly followers of the Wheel, because their version of history and creation has been proved wrong. Many people have begun worshipping the Loa.

Scientists working with the Loa Blood extracted from the alien bodies have discovered miracle medicines, non-poluting fuels, other good things. But the catch is, anyone exposed to the Blood mutates. Usually they die. Often they get harmful or useless mutations (like the guy with toasters for hands). Only a few get useful super-powers, which are drawn from the person's subconscious.

A few years ago, the nation of Locrir (on the other side of the world) fell under the control of a warmongering dictator named Savanti Romero.

About a month ago, an industrial accident on Dracon Island exposed the whole island's population to Loa Blood. Most died, and as many survivors as could be evacuated were brought to nearby Bay City, in the wealthy nation of Argo. The island was left to those creatures too mutated, dangerous and insane to be rescued.

A few days ago, a mysterious entity called "Cuckoo" freed a number of psychopaths from the Bay City Asylum. A loose band of Gifted have come together to unofficially help the city's police with the aftermath. A few of these Gifted have officially become the security force for the Coda Corporation, a powerful international company that does Loa Blood research under the supervision of GAIA (Global Administrative Inteligence Authority), a humanitarian organization working towards world peace and prosperity.

Right now, we are in Bay City. Bounty hunters are searching for the Gifted girl who killed the Prince of neighboring Aralia. The Coda security force are investigating a string of Ninja assassinations. There was just a mysterious earthquake.

Tonight, there is a massive rock concert in the city, by the band Twelve.

New characters are totally welcome. Note that whoever you are, you are not a superhero yet. You could be:

-Gifted. People with low-powered or useless super-abilities, probably from the Dracon Island refugee camp.

-High Tech. Robots, cyborgs, super-scientists, gadgeteers, armoured-types, etc. Probably from Aralia.

-Normal people. We've only got two so far, but Succubus is having a good time with hers. Athletes, scientists, reporters, cops, doctors, politicians, gangsters, street kids, cab drivers, priests, boxers, smugglers, secret agents, whatever. Any sort of normal people would be welcome and appreciated. We'll find a way to work you into the story.

-Villains. Any of the other types of characters could be villains too, but here I'm talking about being a member of an existing criminal group. Escaped Psychopaths (not really an organized group), Cold Blood Ninja (Loa worshipping martial artists), or Killer Bee Agents (high-tech bikers with power armour).

-Monsters. Dracon Island is teeming with horrible things, that might make their way to the mainland. Want to be powerful, freakish, and insane?

Wow. Seems like we've come a ways.

Twelve, huh? Like the Twelve Apostles? ^_^ I didn't catch where the band got introduced... and Kell might not know about the concert. Does Mary know about the Twelve concert? If she does, maybe she should invite him, now that he's better?

*pinches Polite's butt*

Hey! You didn't tell me whether or not Mary knows about the Twelve concert! Pay attention, you!

^_^

OW!

Hey Doofus!

I figure at the Donny's Family Resturant we can see flyers or win free tickets for being able to recite the alphabet backwards or something.

Mary wasn't exspecting to be this age when the concert came about, she exspected to be in some nice foster home so didn't pay attention to the up coming concert.

Hahah!

That's a good plan. Sounds cool.

I'm wondering, though... maybe I should have Amy run into Kell and Mary together. Holding hands. That might be funny. ^_^

Gosh, talk about narrissesic tendencies, you want yourself to be jelous of yourself? Whew!

What if one of the people Kell rescued gives them tickets?

Hey, sheesh! I hope you're joking, PS! I almost took that personally.

(Anyway, both Kell and Amy aren't anything like me. And if someone else wants to play Amy I'll gladly hand her over. Hmph. I actually am a little insulted, you know. *pouts*)

As for the tickets, sure, maybe. Or Kell could just buy them, probably. He has nothing better to do with the cash.
