OOC: Loa Blood

If you remember, the thing is old, and so would prob collopase, since Mary lives in the attic, that might not be too healthy for her.

She can't do that. She has a hidden talent, but that's for later in the program and has nothing to do with her current ablity.

Okay, I know you're not going to do that, and were probably just kidding anyway. So this rant is not a response to that directly, just something I've been meaning to say for a while.

I know I come on about this a lot, but people are still always coming up with new powers for their characters. That's fun, they're cool ideas, but anything's easy if you can just make up new powers to handle whatever situation you're in. I want to see people using the powers they've already got in creative ways.

If the powers you've got can't help you out of a problem, try to find a creative human solution. I'll always be much more lenient on convenient solutions that don't involve superpowers, than on convenient new superpowers.

If you still can't think of how to succeed in a situation without developing new powers, then your character fails. They should fail. A lot. We're on day 7 (IC) of a story I want to go on for years (IC), which is part of why I keep wanting to skip ahead in time.

If the characters fail now, early on in the story, it will just make their later successes more heroic. We can't show characters learning and growing if they always succeed at everything they do.

While I'm at it, here's how dying works. If you can't think of a way for your character to survive a situation, they die, or at least get paralyzed, in a coma, etc. None of these problems is permanent, for anybody. If you want a character to return from death (coma, whatever), they will. After a while. In the meantime, you should bring in a new character, because coming back from death is going to take a while, otherwise it's not dramatic.

Anyway, you guys are all great storytellers. You know all this stuff. Just stop it with the new powers, okay? Abraxas, that thing we were just PMing about is okay, but everyone, just stick to what you've got.

Yikes. Sorry, bad day, angry at my computer. End of rant. Back to smashing.

i'm still just playing with that idea anyway. I plan to write up Monolith in champs 5th edition this weekend, so he is set in stone (so to speak)

Just remember you're all Low Powered, which I believe gives you only 150 pts.

Whew. Poor Kell.

I wonder if it'd be possible to make Kell with the Champions system? I've never used it before.

It is pretty beautiful. I once wanted to make a character who was a little girl trapped in an indestructible force-cube. Now, you can build anything, but the system really discourages "indestructibility". The best you can hope for is really, really tough.

So I built the character as a force-cube, with a little girl trapped inside. Now the force-cube could take damage just like a character, but since the girl was really just descriptive anyway, she would never get hurt until the force-cube character was "killed". Of course, that was a complicated concept, and took a lot more than 150 points. The point is, you can really do anything in the system.

But "Loa Blood" isn't really Champions. I like the systemless way we work in here much better.

Amon, the cannister of Loa Blood was strapped to the bike. Ghost shot the guy off the bike, and then ran and grabbed the guy out of the air. The bike, and the cannister, kept going into the next alleyway. While Ghost is interrogating the agent, the army helicopter is searching for the cannister, but someone else (unknown) already got to it first.

So Ghost can't grab the vial from the biker, because tthe biker didn't have it on him.

Sorry if my earlier post was unclear on any of this.

ST, do you have anything else you want Kell to be involved in? If not, I think he's going to autopilot himself back to Mary's apartment, and bask in the glory of her ice cavern painting thingie.

I'm gonna wait on posting until you say what's best.

Yay, cuddle! ^_^

Ah, Kell. Teenage boy in an adult world, beset by grief and self-doubt, gifted with powers he both feels he's owed and feels he doesn't deserve, and teamed up with two girls he's attracted to but with strange problems getting in the way of real romance -- and I should know, seeing as I play one of the girls, too!

Yes, cuddles are good for him. Better than high calorie foods; but only barely. ;)

Best kind.

Yah, sorry I haven't been around this week. Computer issues.

JC, Kell eventually ends up back at Mary's, and you two can do your thing.

Abraxas and Morgoth, finish it off. Monolith should go down somehow, and the Crusher, injured, leaves the area to sty away from the army until he heals.

Siren, you get to the safe house. And congrats on being the last remaining original member of the thread.

To Everyone:

This actually is very good comic book materal....What do you all think?

Wanna give it a shot?

I've been thinking about turning this story into a comic book for a while now, Succubus. I am really an illustrator first and a writer second, and one of the reasons I role-play is to have other people write dialogue for me!

Look, Daddy says we can go steady! *giggle*

Hahaha!

Hmm. Well, I wanted to make a comic book during my year-long art class... I was going to work on my own thing... but I could draw some sketches of Kell and Amy! Once I get better. I'm going to begin practicing again tomorrow.

Anywaaay, family reunion over. Magician Girl is back in the game!
