OOC: Loa Blood

I got the PM, but my explorer never alerted me. So I didn't even get to read it until now. You should've gotten mine too.

ok sorry i havent posted ehre or in the IC thread lately, but i just dont know what to write since my character is wel..X_X
anywho um..uhh....*shruggles*

Ya know, I have two PC's just so I don't run into this sort of problem...One gifted, one human.

I'm sort of stuck with Mary right now, am waiting for the current Crusher deal to die down before opening the gallery.

kk maybe i should make another character?^_^
though im no where in the league of any of your writing skils:eek:

ah well..*goes and rots his mind watching TV*

DT, I'll post Dr. Dugan getting you to his lab, and then you can have Symphony wake up there at any time.

Having a couple of characters isn't a bad idea. Anyone who wants to come up with another one, go right ahead. Use the same guidelines as before (low powered, normal human, high tech or super-freaky-insane-Crusher-monster).

Remember: Unless one of your PC's is telepathic, they can't know what the other one is thinking about!

I have that problem with my GRUPS game...One Player, two PC's, and one knows something the other doesn't...You get the drift.

Morgoth, it should take a few days for the Crusher to regenerate limbs, although he could do it in a day if he ate a lot of meat (hint, hint). Since he can levitate, he doesn't need his wings to fly, but a missing wing will make him slower and clumsier.

Cats, Nia should be slowed down by the broken leg, but her real problem should be the pain, and being especially vulnerable with so much skin missing.

He, he, I love regenerating characters.

Have fun!

Almost forgot. Maka, I love what you're doing with Michael. One thing, though. You made reference to Dante's Inferno, which doesn't exist in this world (and wouldn't make much sense in a world without Italy or Christianity). Next time invent a cultural reference specific to this imaginary world. Most "high-culture" comes from Locrir, the dominant religion is the Sejealan Wheel, and a lot of primitve, mystical folklore comes from Svetla and the nomadic Weavers.

He's going to be really mad at that one.
TeeHee!(Did I really just do that?)
:nana:

(That missile strike probably did more harm than good)

Sorry; that should have occured to me.

Broken leg? Is this what I get for being gone for a week end? Yes I love regenerating characters myself, they can take a pounding and yet your still able to spend the time developing else where.

I've used multiple characters myself in other threads and have found it useful especially when you don't know what to post and still want every one else to know your still around.

As for high culture this is going to be rather tricky. How ever I suppose it is manageable, if it's all the same I will stay away from that topic all together.

I hope my post was worth the wait. Morgoth I PMed you again, and some how you sent the problem to me because it didn't tell me you wrote back, very strange thing.

For a super hero can I make a magically ignorant one? You know the kind nothing weird happens to. So when he walks out of the café and the crusher is tearing up the street he is wondering what every one is running from. Then when he turns to look the crusher is already around the next corner and out of view. You know the type of person who thinks this is a very eccentric city? Yes this is the Mundane advantage from GURPS. Actually I don't really want to play some one like this I'm just wondering if it would be a legal power.

ok all here we go!*spits in hands, rubs them togethor and cracks knuckles*

name:01
race:unknown
age:unknown
height:variable
weight:variable
story:01 was once a semi-normal human, mostly a reclusive, shy sort of person you would never truly notice,a background character if you would. He had been working in a lab in Bay City, fixing a supposed glitch in the computerized safety system. That lab had been working on a piece of some unknown computer chip found at the Loa site, which had been shipped to Bay City secretly without the knowing of the other nations that had supported the research lab. While repairing the glitch the door suddenly sparked and opened, and ashe went to check it he stepped inside. The door slammed shut and he battered on it a bit, then shrugged and decided to examine this computer-chip thingy while he was there. As soon as he touched it it reacted, small grippers pulling it to his skin.As he tried to pull it off he suddenly blacked out, then awoke t find his body walking stiffly down a street towards his home. The chip by nwo was attached to the back of his head and started talking to him.MainFrame 01 was online again after thousands of years.
powers:able to graft metals and computers into its body.
(so how does every 1 like?^_^)

This may cause conflict with the sub-story Swampy and I are building...or may enhance it...I'll let Swampy call it! :D

The Loa lang has never been cracked, which is why I say that, although there are plenty of samples of it. There is, at this time, no known Rosetta Stone, and even if your PC heard the lang spoken to him, he wouldn't be able to comprehend it (for reasons that will become clear).

noddles*i figured that, thats y i have thingies planned to show that it does not know the language, and only interprets numbers and the language used by its "host" body.

^_^

Cool concept, DT. Succubus is right though, it does raise some problems. See, a Loa-built computer would have access to all of their information, and would know why they built the Earth, how they died, and other mysteries I'm not ready to reveal yet. Here's a couple of options:

1. You play the "host", and I'll play the implant. The host will definitely need a name, age, background, all of that. The implant can communicate with him, provides him with information, gives him the ability to absorb / graft other computers into his body. This way the implant has access to all of the Loa's knowledge and plans, but it tells you only as much as it wants, and you won't be able to trust it. The implant will be effectively using you, for whatever purpose the Loa designed it for, which would be a mystery for quitesome time to come.

2. You play the implant (your description implied that the host's personality has been totally absorbed by the implant, but you should still give him a name, background, etc. The implant is cut off from the Loa information network, it's history files are erased, etc. It has no secret plot knowledge. It still does other nifty things like enhance the host's senses, tap into human data networks, and of course, the computer-graft power.

3. The computer chip is not Loa-built, but built by humans, probably in Aralia (where most of the high-tech lives).

I like the idea, I hope we can work something out. PM me.

Cats, you can have Nia wake up at any time in the back of Dr. Dugan's lab. By the way, great descriptions of the action scene and it's aftermath. And yes, you can play that concept you didn't want to play.

Morgoth, it's still going to take you a full day to regenerate your lost arm, eye and wing. Waiting on the bridge makes you an easy target for the next wave of fighters. You might want to hide out and lie low for a while again, or continue your rampage elsewhere in the city. After all, it's not like you need both arms to wipe out a bunch of humans (sorry, I meant "purify").

Am I missing anybody? Does anyone feel stuck and need an NPC to interact with?

If you haven't done so already, I suggest reading the first post of this OOC, there's lots of handy background world information.

Thanks to everyone for being a part of this!

Lol
The Crusher'll do that. What about the PM I sent you? That can be taken into account. Or, he could go beat up on some poor PC. Any takers?:D

Yeah I just wanted to present the idea of a normal person going around wondering if he'll ever be effected by one of these people effected by Loa blood characters.

Any how thanks, I tried to make that a decent post, even if it lasts for a span of maybe a minute.

Morgoth the ball is heading your way again. I'm begining to worry why I'm not being promted by incomeing PMs any more.

Swamp just to give you a heads up, Morgoth and I are working on a plot idea. Once we have the basic details worked out we'll run it by you.

edit to add more coments:

If you don't mind, I'm going to wait a bit longer before wakeing up Nia, she did after all take more of a pounding then normal.

Also do you have any idea on how I can get Nia's sai back? I'm still toying with an idea involveing it.

Name: Jen X'ial "Switchboard"
Ethnicity: Phrygian
Nationality: Argonian
Occupation: Unemployed
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 130
Eye Color: Black
Hair Color: Black
Complexion: Gold

Description: Very attractive (although "pretty" or "cute" seems more appropriate than say, "gorgeous"), mousy posture and demeanor and an easy, if shy, smile.

Powers: Jen's primary power is the ability to network several minds, up to twelve in fact, all of which can be no further than a mile away from at least one other member of the network. Members of this network can communicate telepathicaly, and with permission can recieve each other's sensations (Jen is the "network administrator" and can recieve whatever sensations from whomever in the network, without their permission).

Her secondary powers can only be used if she networks with only one or two other people. In a two or three person network she can establish an imaginary setting. The setting affords Jen a great deal of power over the others within. She can use the setting as an advanced therapy aid, or as a brutal insturment of torture. If someone were to "die" in this setting they would become brain dead in the real world.

Background: Jen was once a regular employee for CODA, working the IT department of CODA's Drakon Island facility. In the disasters involving Loa blood she recieved her networking powers. Upon discovering the basic uses of her powers, CODA secured Jen for a special program in which she was trained to use her powers for the company's benefit. She networked high ranking meetings, making them completly safe from spies; she was used to extract secrets from competitors, running them through mental mazes until they told her everything. She later used her powers to secure a retirement package with scads of benefits and stock options and then quit. She desires to act outside of society's norm, she easily falls in love with both heroic and villainous characters and wants to join them, revelling in the freedom her loa born powers can give her.

What's the verdict?

Cats, I sent you a PM recently. Did you get it?

Bunnies: I for one, think it looks pretty good. But about the whole placing them into a setting idea. I (who is not the owner and final OK'er of this thread) think that it should have some set limit. Just my 2 cents worth.

How about this, for the secondary power, at least one of the involved minds must be willing, if the other resists Jen and the willing mind can overpower the second (usually). If she is using the power against one person, it would depend on their own mental fortitude assuming they tried to resist.

Morgoth is lit still not telling you about your PMs? It still isn't telling me so I'm getting annoyed. Any how I sent one last PM your way, and swamp morgoth and I are finished with our idea so I'm PMing you the concept.

The beginning concept of the game is that PC's begin weak, adjust to their powers, and then culture them and gain new ones with further exposure, so Jen might be a tad to strong for a new character.

There's a bit about that about one page back from Swampy, I think.
