Something I just realized . . . I'm going out of town on Thursday for ten days. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online at all.
QC, if you wouldn't mind taking the lead on Yavin while I'm away . . . and Abraxas and Sweet, maybe a serious injury to Dev, or one of you can write the character for me (He's a typical Jedi Boy Scout type. Diplomat and negotiator).

Yes, in a way, they were based on the Yuuzan Vong, but only because I find an enemy who is doing what they're doing for reasons they believe to be "good" or for their god(s) much more interesting than an enemy who is just trying to grab power because they're "evil" or "greedy". It's those philosophical layers that I like. You're supposed to be cheering their destruction on one level, but on another, they're following their social/dogmatic imperative, and thus, how can they truly be bad?
However, I never imagined them killing each other because they recieved bad news, or a battle went wrong, or whatever. And if you followed the NJO series to its conclusion, you would have seen that their supreme leader wasn't actually acting in accordance with their gods, but was looking to replace them, and used the Vong religion to "control" the others. When I came up with what I did, the Dracuurian's supreme leader would still believe in their gods and be acting accordingly. Thus, Dracuurian religon and ceremonies went both ways, if that makes any sense.
As for what you're planning to do, I'm just the new guy, lol. I'll go along with whatever is planned for the story. I'm just itching to write something to contribute, but I'm not sure introducing another Jedi or Sith is the way to go. So, if you have any ideas, throw them my way. I'm open to anything, as long as I can still contribute

As for Fel (Jagged Fel, I'm assuming) it doesn't seem right to add him. He's someone else's character, and not one that our particular story needs to reference. It almost seems like, between that and the Chiss, we're starting to blend our world with the world the books have offered. I don't like that much. Just my opinion.
And sharkboy, I'll PM you and give you the details of what I've been thinking. I'll need Paen to be in on this one too, since it would involved Master Du'uraan to a fair degree, or at least part of what I'd like to do would involve him. Y'know, I think I'll PM you both these details (though it isn't looking like Paen will get them until next weekend, lol). We'll see how we want to blend things. I'll also point out, in case no one has or it wasn't made clear, that there are two factions of Dracuurians. One the hostiles, which if I remember correctly, are the majority, and the other the more submissive, who are treated poorly (possibly like slaves). Paen should have the whole of the details. I might actually be wrong, altogether, heh. But if I'm not, then we've got some more characters we can add, which is good, because we're really hyping these Dracuurians, and somehow, we'll need the strength to eithe defeat, or at least survive them.

As for them being like they were in the books, I didn't mean to use the name and make up a new race (if that's how you took it) but instead meant that they wouldn't have the connections here they might have had there. I don't knwo for certain there were any (again, only those few books) but in case there were...

couple of questions..
Why post all the book info knowing we're not going by it?
Why not just use creative freedom and make some new ones instead of picking from the "How to write a star wars movie 101"?
If this is gonna get anal, then I think I will resign. I sure as shit don't know squat about all these books and races.
