Alright, Im completely lost now.

couple of questions..

Why post all the book info knowing we're not going by it?

Why not just use creative freedom and make some new ones instead of picking from the "How to write a star wars movie 101"?

With the Dracuurians, there were ment to be a new race made from the imagination of us ORPers.

I didn't read the books, so I know zip about what was in them, and so I prefer if we use species which were in the movies, or use our imaginations. I don't want to have to read the books to play here, nor do I want anyone else to either.

I started this SW based from the movies and our imagination.... If anyone wants to do a SW based on the books then feel welcomed to start one.

IF we were to introduce the Chiss, post alot of detial on them and note WE ORPers can change them. AND why not leave the Chiss to a future Ep, like 9 or 10?

Thank you Orlanth. I am glad someone agrees with me. I mean no offense to anyone, I just do not see a point to reading all this information that doesn't pertain to this thread. It's only going to add to the confusion. I will read a long winded, informatived post if it's something going to be used in the thread and is accepted by everyone as usable. Now I will hush up and stop stepping on toes.

AB since we're going to be toting Dev around, Im open for ideas on where to go next. Just post it in here, I really hate PM's lol (i never remember to empty the damned thing!)

Sharkboy's idea is cool, I got nothing against it.

How about this: No further information from or about the books to be posted - so no more missunderstandings take place.

Now, let's not do the Chiss thing, lets go off our ideas and not the books.

what??? I keep giving info and then I get told "we're not following the books" when I found that out when I started reading episode 7.

I don't know I don't find much in the way of amusing right now. I guess I'll let you all know, I was talking to QC and have seriously considered leaving the thread. that's fine, I would like to know how many races you do have though, because I originally thought there were a lot of races around.

In Classic Movies

Episode 4: Chadra Fan (cantina), Gotal (cantina), Shistavenen Wolfman (gets arm cut off by Kenobi), Ithorian (cantina), Aqualish (cantina), Bith (cantina musicians), Rodian (Greedo), Tusken Raiders (Sand People), H'nemthe (cantina), Givin (Cantina, I think, don't remember exactly), Abyssin (cantina), Duros (cantina).

Episode 5: Ugnaught (the creatures that take 3P0 a part and freeze Han), Trandoshan (the reptilian bounty hunter that clacks his foot on the floor of the Executor)

Episode 6: Elom (Jabba's Barge), Quarren (next to Elom), Nikto (one of the guards on the skiff), Gammorean (guards that stop Luke), Gran (in Jabbas Palace, the three eyed guy), Weequay (the bald skiff guard with the brown face), Sullustan (Lando's copilot in the Falcon)

And there's loads more in the Pre-quels esp. in the Senate Hall. ET from the movie? there's 3 of them in the Senate.

Many of these races are not talked about at all, in the movies. This is why I mentioned them, don't tell me I forgot some because I didn't feel like pointing out the too obvious ones.

I want to know which races we have, and which one's we want to introduce.

The ones in the movies can all be used.

New races, that depends on our imaginations.

I really wish a new Yoda's race, the databank at starwars.com has it as unkown.

why?? really?? everytime I answer a question esp. when it concerns information on races and such, I try to make it convenient for you guys, in that I put it up and tell you where you may look deeper into it. Then I get told "we're not following that" from EVERYONE when really I'm just answering someone's question. Secondly I get insulted by being told that I'm force feeding you stuff. I don't know about you, but just in the first 3 movies, there's over 60 races/sentient species, are you guys going to come up with them all?? In the prequels if you look at just the senate hall scenes there are hundreds of different species. I'll shut up now, and wait for all your responses.

Yes I have heard this as well ... (that Yoda was the last of his race) ... I think the Sith kill them all, Hense the reason he was in hiding on Dagobah (sp?) ...

BTW this is a Fantasy RP.. in this world you can have anything you want. Make another Yoda or two, hell do whatever comes to mind that YOU (that means everyone in here) find will add an interesting twist to the story. That's what I meant by all the book info. Here, you can create whatever you want to. Let everyone see it, take input etc and go from there.

I have one challenge for you all then. Name me 20 species from the movies and give me information on their society and culture.

No SW Database, because that's a watered down version of info. from the books, except books normally leave out homeworld. No books, just pure information provided from the movies. Watch as many times as you like.

If you can do that, then I will shut up forever with information from the books.

I think this is a good point, but more over than any of this, I don't really feel that there's reason for any of us to take things so seriously. We give each other shit here; always have. Donsehan just needs time to adjust. Once he's in the mix for a while, I think things'll pan out better, if he chooses to stay.

As for the info, I mostly check SW.com for my info, and try to distinguish between what is or isn't from this source or that. More than easy enough.

Everyone just needs to stay calm and talk, like we've done until now. We're already miles away from story discussion.

That is true, but we don't really need the books to do this ORP. As it's been pointed out before,we can customize anything.

We could even have a pink, blue, green and yellow 4 bladed lightsaber if we all liked it.

It might not fit into the SW's books, but so what? We use most of our ideas and that of the movies. We don't like doing what's already done in the books.
