Here I'm thinking people are posting their respects for those innocent people who were murdered. No it's just another debate where those who know nothing about firearms tell everyone else that things should be done their way.

Here I'm thinking about how to deal with with the deranged minds of people who would do such a thing, but instead let's restrict the rights of millions of other Americans. I think we should listen to the paranoid and emotional AGI...Anti Gun Idiots.

It's been 30 years since I was in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces but I can assure you I know my way around an FN-FAL C1 and C2. Also Browning 9mm semi auto handgun, Sterling submachine gun, hand grenades, hunting rifles and shotguns. Also bows and crossbows. I am a crack shot. Only guy in my company who out shot me during basic training came over from the militia and had seen active service in Cyprus. I was a supply tech and drove a forklift but had all the basic required weapons training. I know what guns, especially those firing military grade ammo can do. I am a history buff and have read many a book and magazine on weapons from history. My knowledge of the latest high tech gadgetry may be limited but then again the AR-15 has been in use basically unchanged for 50 years. Long shelf live for weapons.

No I think you're lying about being in the CIA. Millions of Americans have rights, you'll find them listed in the Constitution, and if they meet reasonable criteria yes they can own weapons. So if your statement is to believed you have knowledge of weapons, and you still support polices that won't help the situation. I actually liked the C-17....but I'm sure you know all about that weapon. Active in Cyprus, but not in combat, but you should be commended for your service. Crete I know many people still maintain weapons, and don't register them because of memories of the Nazi invasion. I guess they know it can happen again.

You cannot easily buy an AK-47...it requires months of ATF investigation, lots of money, lawyers and usually a business/trust to actually own.


You can easily go buy a semi auto look alike pretty much anywhere, just like the AR-15 and any other semi auto everything.

But they aren't the same thing as military weapons, why do you keep trying to push the lie that they are?

Then explain, what about a semi auto rifle with a military appearance makes them worse than all the 'hunting' semi auto rifles?

Do you know what your talking about because when you buy from a dealer at a show they still run a background check. Now you might be talking about personnel sales at a gun show where it's on the seller to know if the person shouldn't have a weapon. Those sales are relatively small and perhaps could be made safer by involving a third party, but it's not like you knew that.

Was being introduced to the infantry grunts just as I left. I was never out of the country. My 'service' was minimal and uneventful.

My point was I am familiar with weaponry. Military and hunting. I am not an uninformed armchair peacenik. I am an informed citizen from a country which has a reputation for being a safe protected place to live. Do you live in one of the top 10 safest countries in the world? I do. And we do it with very strict gun laws and yet have a big tradition for hunting and farming, both acceptable uses for guns. Lots of military re-enactors here too with our history of kicking Yank butt when you lot ventured too far north for your own good. We know it could happen again too. But have little to fear from the likes of you.

Yes the British defeated us several times during the Revolutionary War in Canada. If you know the history you know how close we did come. You really want to make me laugh though. Sure you'd hold out what better part of a week against the United States military? A short trip from Fort Drum and we're well on are way. Though the situation these days is we're here to protect you.

Your childish fantasies aside anyone who looks at these issues knows it isn't that simple considering all the factors involved and assuming you're getting the correct data. Bottom line is though gun control is only a factor. Many people hail Australia as a great success problem was the murder rate was going down, and at the same time in the United States it went down even further with no changes.

When this was all trending on Twitter Sunday before the Tonys, I clicked on one of the trending words/terms, & saw a headline (w/pic) that said due to Orlando, "Hamilton" was taking the muskets out of their Tony performance.

It immediately reminded me of Dubya (who I never liked) & his "if-then" statements about signs "the terrorists have/had won". It may be the most-wanted ticket out there, but if anyone wasn't wanting a ticket to ____ (fill-in name of show there), they might change their minds based on the Tony performances. I for one want to see the song done the same way (tune, lyrics, & choreography, regardless of cast) on the Tonys that I would if I actually got a ticket.

Oh, & screw all talk about Islam or any other Gods when it comes to the discussion of weapons & things like that! One thing that has LONG bothered me is people who will thank God (literally) when they survive shootings, cancer, & a ton more, but not similarly blame the same one for giving them the disease or putting them in the line of fire!
