Orlando Pulse Massacre 2016

Yay, it's after midnight, so I've helped pin down some crazy gun nuts on a porn board for another day and kept them from going out and gunning folks down. We'll see if I can keep them foaming at the mouth for yet another day. :D

And vice-versa.

What is the productive reason you're up at this hour? You have a high opinion of yourself, and you really shouldn't. I'm getting a laugh at your expense so keep posting. I will say this. I've met a number of people in the intelligence field and they're a very smart crowd. You not so much.

He's just trying to cover for the fact that his 'assault weapon' hysteria is a load of crap not even he can back up.

Your only accomplishment was to demean the tragedy that happened in Orlando. People lost their lives. Families lost their sons and daughters. And you successfully managed to stand on their bodies and get most of us to forget for a while.

You have not contributed a single rational point this thread. You succeeded all right. In making it plain to everyone what a vile and selfish little person you are.

You may as well have spit in the face of every victim that night.

The sad thing is, your hate sodden mind probably truly believes you're fighting the good fight.

You don't disgust me so much as sadden me. I feel pity for you that your world is so self centered that you use a horror like this as a tool for your own little agenda.

Oh great another dingus who doesn't know what the fuck an assault weapon is, and it's SR71!!

Shocking

Do tell SR, what exactly about bayonet lugs and adjustable stocks makes 'assault weapons' so much more insane than the 200 other models of semi auto 'dear rifles' that fire the same round just as fast??

It's scarier looking....that's it.
I'm so fucking sick of this totally bullshit response to any proposal to ban assault rifles. With a minimal skill set and a few proper tools, any fucking moron on the planet can convert that assault rifle to a fully automatic weapon. It's the part of the story that not one fucking asshole who can't get it up unless he's holding a badass looking gun his hands won't bring up.

The fact is that this country has a long standing fucking love affair with being able to cause as much destruction with a gun as they possibly can.

No one wants to take your fucking guns away, so quit the fucking bullshit. Nor is the gummint trying to crush you under its boot - yet. But keep voting pro-gun and Republican, and it will come to pass.

That's been illegal for the past 80 years.

Violations of the NFA '34 are punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison, fines ranging to $500k, forfeiture of all devices or firearms in violation, and the individual's right to own or possess firearms in the future. (which really means they seize everything ELSE too, not just the illegally modified firearm)

Are you suggesting we need an extra law to make it even MORE illegal?

Minimal set of tools two functional hands, few supplies and an internet connection is all you need to make a gun.

And if you want a full auto gun then you will also need ammunition and slightly better tools but it is not really that difficult.

Note that I still support gun control laws and preferably the kind that will concentrate on WHO can buy a gun rather than which guns are legal. I simply don't think that it will stop every crook or tragedy.

Laws do not and should not prevent crimes. They punish people that break them. Someone that wants to commit a crime will find the way. The Boston Marathon bombing used a pressure cooker and a bunch of old firecrackers. I'm confident they were aware that what they were doing was illegal. Same with Mateen. If he hadn't bought that legally he would have bought it illegally.

A law should never be used to punish people before a crime is committed or even planned.

AR-15 can be purchased in Canada but here’s why you don’t see them used in crimes

The National Rifle Association likes to call the AR-15 “America’s rifle” and in Canada the AR-15 and its many spinoffs cost anywhere from $825 used to more than $3,000 for a brand name version. Because despite some obvious confusion over Canada’s gun laws, AR-15s and similar weapons are not prohibited in this country but, rather, restricted and there are likely thousands in circulation.

Noah says the difference between Canada and the U.S. is not the availability of the weapon itself, but the training and screening process that precedes a purchase.

In Orlando, “this guy obtained his guns legally. He passed two background checks in a two-day period to buy these,” Noah says.

Canada has a much more arduous firearms safety training and permitting process.

The screening overseen by the RCMP is completed manually and includes interviews with at least two people whose names are provided by the applicant and can include others, such as former conjugal partners or local law enforcement.

“It is not a matter of pressing a button on a computer,” he says.

In the U.S., the screening is automated and “it’s terrible.”

Which is highly illegal and can be done with any number of guns not just 'assault rifles'.

I noticed you also dodged the question that all the 'assault weapons' hysterics have COMPLETELY FAILED to answer with anything other than deflection and or shit talk. Talk about bullshit responses

What exactly makes 'assault weapons' so much more insane than the multitude of other semi auto 'dear rifles' that fire the same round or larger just as fast??

This 'assault weapon' ?? It's the exact gun model but with 'tacticool' looking parts all over it btw. Still fires the same rounds, the same way about as fast as any other sami auto .308 rifle.

Are pistol grips and adjustable stocks really that deadly?? Do you really think banning these accessories will save lives?

Just because I don't buy into the 'assault weapon' hype/myth doesn't mean I vote pro-gun or Republican. It's ok though, keep your assuming things if it make you feel better about chugging the 'assault weapons' Kool-Aid .

Every time people bring up restrictions on assault weapons, BotanyBoy thinks we're discussing an accessory ban.

5 round mags only up here too. You don't need more than that for hunting, animals.

Can you point out the difference between an 'assault rifle' ban and an accessory ban?

CA has has 'assault weapons' bans for a long time, I can still go out and buy semi auto everything including AR-15's with ergonomic/aesthetic differences that skirt the ban.

Like these CA legal AR's!! LOL under an 'assault weapons' ban.

Ignore the fact that we don't enforce our restrictions for shit...just make more of them for manufactures to skirt!! Cuz that works hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

The AR-15 rifle used in the Pulse massacre was illegal a few short years ago. Who in their right mind allows a ban to expire?

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...o-is-lightweight-easy-to-use-and-oh-so-deadly

Incorrect. AR-15 and clones were never illegal the Crime Control Act Bill Clinton initiated was more of a high capacity magazine band. It limited magazine capacity to 10 rounds. Some other feel good parts of what he did were eliminating bayonet lugs and flash suppressors. He achieved nothing other then phony bragging rights. NPR and other news sources keep misreporting this garbage.

Oh, Jesus fucking Christ, how fucking stupid are you?

It's fucking illegal to walk into a bar and mow down the customers, too.

Just because something is illegal isn't going to stop people, asshole.

The fucking POINT is that it can be easily done. As long as we make the weapons available that can be that easily converted, it's potentially a lethal threat.

It's fucking illegal to purchase fucking fertilizer for the purpose of making a bomb, but that didn't stop McVeigh, now did it??

Get your fucking head out of your ass.

One comment. ALL weapons that are capable of being made into fully automatic weapons need to fucking go, period.

Nutbars will go for the gun that looks like one real soldiers use. A semi-auto hunting rifle is not near as 'cool' as a semi-auto assault rifle.

Fear and penis extensions.

So you just want a gun ban down to muskets/muzzle loaders....why didn't you just say that?

What's with the bullshit 'assault weapons' front?

Or maybe they just don't want a heavy rot prone wood stock, a quantifiably inferior material.

Sig Sauer, maker of Orlando gunman’s rifle, is expanding rapidly in US

Sig Sauer Inc, maker of the semi-automatic rifle believed to have been used in the Orlando shooting rampage, has been growing rapidly in the United States, with plans to sell more silencers and ammunition while vying for a contract to supply several hundred thousand handguns to the U.S. military.

Though not as well known as publicly traded U.S. rivals Smith & Wesson Corp and Sturm Ruger & Co , privately held Sig Sauer produces firearms used by federal agents, U.S. Navy SEALs and police departments throughout the United States, and similar models for sale to the consumer mass market.

Based in Newington, New Hampshire, the company last year secured $178 million in bank financing to help support its expansion plans, according to Thomson Reuters data. The company also hired prominent Washington D.C. firm Crossroads Strategies to lobby on exports and sales to the U.S. Defense Department and federal law enforcement agencies, lobbying disclosures show.

:eek::eek:
In the commercial market place, Sig Sauer has been working to expand its offerings of gun silencers, according to documents filed in a dispute with the ATF in federal court.
:eek::eek:

WTF! Silencers are heavily banned, taxed and restricted. Do we want suppressed weapons widely distributed among our gun fondlers? I know they are widely used in the UK, but, really isn't this just playing into the hands of the American Nut Jobs?

BB: your comment on wood stocks rotting is just bullshit! As an aside the AR-15 was designed to allow the Air Force to be able to carry a rifle. They were adopted by the Army to allow grunts to carry more ammo to spray around in the jungle. As we found out in Afghanistan and Iraq, the M-14 is still a vastly better weapon at rifle ranges. Hell even the AK and the SKS are better than the AR as far as reliability.

Fine make restrictions when it comes to hunting that's different. I'm pretty sure most people want 30 round magazines so the fun of shooting isn't interrupted or are you a psycho automatically?

So I'm not crazy because I like wooden stocks. Good to know.

Maybe those guys would be satisfied with a Viagra.

Yes because it's a clear connection between the size of one's genitals and their choice of weapon for sport, hunting, or self defense. Every time I see a comment like this it makes me laugh. So pathetic. If you can't identify as a man no object can do it for you, but then you're probably just projecting.

When I was in, you could carry 200 rounds of 7.62 NATO rounds. With the 5.56 round and Mattel plastic parts you can carry 500 rounds.

7.62 NATO is a superior round at long range. Up close a 9mm pistol round is enough. The 5.56 (.223) is an intermediate round. Not bad at range and small enough to be able to carry more ammo with an AR capable of full-auto.

7.62 is great for firing across fields of open country in Europe. Not so good for urban or jungle warfare.

The FN-FAL was a battle rifle, only semi auto. C-2 version was capable of full auto and came equipped with a bipod and 10 extra rounds in mag.

Times, tech an tactics have changed much since Vietnam and Cold War days.

I believe Kalashnikov said he wished he'd went with the 5.56 round, but I'm impressed with the 7.62 myself.
