Perfect Albums

49:00 of Your Life by Paul Westerberg of the Replacements. Released online only by Amazon in 2008 for .49. It is exactly 49:00 long. Actually one continuous track so you are forced to listen to entire album. Brilliant stuff that he recorded by himself, playing all instruments. I think it was only available for a week because of a cease and desist from publishers because one track was a medley of Beatles and Stones and Kinks and Elton John songs. Anyways you can still listen on Youtube and Souncloud or find a download if you are good at the internet.

Muswell Hillbillies - The Kinks

My favorite. Every song is fabulous.
1. 20th Century Man
2. Acute Schizophrenia Paranoia Blues
3. Holiday
4. Skin and Bone
5. Alcohol
6. Complicated Life

Side two

1. Here Come the People in Grey
2. Have a Cuppa Tea
3. Holloway Jail
4. Oklahoma U.S.A.
5. Uncle Son
6. Muswell Hillbilly

Meant to post in this earlier but love this album and the Kinks. Lived in London for a summer once and spent a lot of time visiting old Kinks landmarks. Muswell Hill, Little Green Street, Hampstead Heath, Archway Tavern and Camden Head in Islington were a few I remember off top of my head. Cheers to Alcohol.

I was wowed by that weird little song cycle. The one about his father knocked the wind out of me. If I remember correctly, that song could only be fully heard by listening through just one of the stereo channels.

Yeah I do not remember the fact about stereo channel but you might be right. There is another album called 5:05 that is available that is tied to this. I believe a couple these songs appear on some of his later albums namely the one with Juliana Hatfield, the I Don’t Cares which might have been his last official release in 2016.
