Pet peeves

Its neither gossip nor is it aimed at creating friction. Its aimed at explaining my frustration. The reason why I am not pointing fingers as to who is doing this is because I do not want to get yelled at by all the so called fans. Some people tend to get quite nasty on here.

That's understandable Kitty, but those who post legitimate pictures might wonder "why are they calling my pictures fake when that is not the case". Some good people have left because of this very conversation. It's very sad and if anyone has an issue, P.M. the person you suggest is posting pictures that are not their own.
You'd be amazed at what a difference respectful messages can make.
In one thread, a person had posted some pictures and I sent the "rules" and explained the reason for not posting other people's pictures. What the response I got was "sorry, I understand, that makes sense".
My last word on this issue.
Happy 2017 everyone.

I feel I should stay out of this… and yet…

I suppose for me, the thing is, not looking like a model, it takes quite a lot of courage to post a picture. And I posted somewhere else that I am sometimes reluctant with the bits I am less keen on in case I end up sandwiched between two gloriously ‘perfect’ bodies, with my pasty, stumpy limbs jarring everyone’s experience… (feel free to visualise what you want there…)

I don’t have a problem admitting jealousy (disease or not) because it is a statement on my own inadequacies not an attack on anyone else. There are tons of beautiful women on this site, and I actually still believe in a sisterhood that says we should support one another…

I am developing something of a ‘fuck it’ attitude, but it is a shame if there are people sitting at home, bravely having taken their snaps, critically looking them over, then even more critically looking them over, finally picking out an image, an angle they are relatively comfortable with, maybe tinkering with filters to distract from ‘flaws’, hovering over the submit button, and dismissing the idea because they feel they cannot ‘compete’ with a perfect image. It is even more of a shame if that perfect image has been pilfered from elsewhere and has led to a confidence episode in a woman who would otherwise have posted. One of the reasons I am a bit happier at being here is because I have started my own thread, which allows me control of the context my pictures viewed in. I know it’s not a competition, but nobody wants to be the ugly duckling in the room…

There is another side to this, my ‘fuck it’ attitude is developing partly because, despite my flaws, people are being complimentary, it turns out most men will be when you show a bit of tit and arse - who knew… :) But where are the ‘normal’ looking guys? all I see are six-packs and enormous dicks (and massive dicks actually terrify me because I couldn’t take one - just sayin’), I am rather sceptical about how many of these are genuine. Are regular guys, chubby guys, small/regular dicked guys put off posting by the swathe of hunky Adonis’ ? I hope not, because that’s equally sad…

On a side note, there was a letter in the Guardian's agony column a few weeks a go from a young woman who had exchanged some sexy snaps with a man via tinder. Somehow she had deduced the snaps he sent back were not him (I dunno, may he had been stupid enough to use pics that were obviously different dicks...), when challenged, he broke off contact and she, a young woman just starting her career, is terrified these snaps will come back to haunt her (she had shown her face). I know some on here will be titillated at her predicament, but I can identify with being so terrified you feel sick. It maybe serves as a timely reminder to trust no one on the interweb...

I have previously done that. I don't post here often enough to actually go around sending messages to everyone who I think are posting someone else's photos. And as far I know there hasn't been anyone of late who has left because I posted something in this thread so please do not accuse me of making genuine people leave. If someone is posting their own photos and are honest in themselves then they have no reason to feel guilty. This issue has been brought up many times and the only people I have seen leave are ones who have something to hide.
Clearly though only some people are allowed to express their feelings freely on this forum so I'll stop commenting as well. I don't post much on Lit anyways so have a great 2017 everyone.

Insofar as peeves go seeing deceptive or purloined pictures is annoying. Seeing folks I'd initially thought to be more savvy about all things on lit fawning over the fakers is disappointing. But what's really irritating is seeing someone trounced on or made light of for questioning a pic posters authenticity by self appointed fan boys.

Given the ever increasing risk factors of an online presence connected to nudes, near nudes or suggestive images I'm surprised anyone even considers doing so. So it really doesn't surprise me as much now when someone points out a Lit truth and it turns into a tangled mess.

I hope the bit in bold is not true or I too might jump ship. Please don't keep quiet if you have something to say, we now live in a world where women's voices are being constantly shut down by internet trolls. Here in the UK female politicians, writers, historians, etc. are all facing a hostile time on line from aggressive posters - if those that are bright, articulate and confident cannot continue to push on, how do we expect the next generation to have a chance as they tentatively pass the school gates and step towards platforms where they will be shouted down for daring to have an opinion (now we are talking about one of my pet peeves, sadly...)

I mostly stick to my own thread and threads I enjoy... Precisely for issues that are being discussed... It is also because of these issues that I want to make a post here.
Over the last few months, reading some of the things being flung back and forth blew my mind.. the sheer absurdity of logic and the mindlessness of, and I shall borrow the word someone else used, "fan-boys".
There were a few references to being "jealous". Have you not seen the comments every AmPics thread gets? Every single body type is appreciated. Every thread gets atleast one comment to the effect of "best thing ever" or some variant there of.
I understand why some people would be jealous of pretty and popular women. I am neither pretty, nor popular, or exotic or curvy or whatever qualifies you to be able to say anything and get away with it and I am fucking jeàlous of everyone who posts a picture and gets 104 comments right after.
I am going to go Google some images for my thread and you lot better fawn over it or atleast send me a respectful PM about it.

My pet peeves:
A. The fucking idiotic way I ramble on
B. My inability to keep my mouth shut
C. Some thread names, oh my good god.
D. Completely unrelated issues being listed together.

I wish for world peace and a happy new year.
😇

Well, they succeeded in doing it.

Not a single "Kollidge" football bowl game was available unless you are a cable/satellite television subscriber. Not one.

Fuck 'em. It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay to watch hypocritical and completely corrupt "Kollidge" football.

My pet peeve - people who are very wrong about themselves...

I do not know if you are exotic and curvy is relative, but you are certainly popular and I would put money on pretty. Of course looks are subjective but that is how I can be confident I am right. Someone else on here made be think of the Dahl quote on sunbeams and it is still true. I do not know what you look like, Lizzie, but you are a sunbeam, whether you like it or not and thus must be beautiful...

You are a woman of weighty words so forgive my childish intrusion, I sometimes cannot stop myself even when I know I am being a little absurd but the sentiment is true, x

Remember when television was free? You could watch baseball, football, etc without cable or satellite.
Now that the cable and satellite companies own a big chunk of the sports teams, you have to pay to watch. Even college sports are gone from over the air television.

I know it's wonderful soon there will be no sport to spoil my enjoyment of the BBC TV.

My peeve is when they change scheduled programmes because some idiot team took too long to score or what ever they call it.

Pet Peev???

A woman with a beautiful mind and intelligence, who believes they need to be more like what a magazine sitting on the impulse isle at the local super market is what beautiful is. Self confidence can be a beauty in itself. Why would you want 104 mindless carbon copy (or dito copy...dating myself) comments? I find it sad that such a beautiful person has issues with their self-esteem.

Someone earlier commented on where are the average guy pic threads. The answer is simple, much like men, women are drawn to a muscular man's body type. There are men on here with average bodies, but unless they post on every womans thread that pops up, not much interest is given to your average guy. And honesty, why should it, he is average, meaning you can throw a rock and hit one any day of the week.women come seem to come here for the above average, much like the majority of the men.

Ah so, I mostly say stuff in jest.
But I appreciate your thoughts and statement.

You, madam, fascinate me.

It's been interesting reading the comments about people posting other's photos. I joined LIT in 2015 to read stories but didn't even know about the forum till October 2016.

I post on another site and a couple collections of my photos ended up on Tumblr and one was reposted here. I contacted the original reposter here and the other's that reposted them as a quote. All were very apologetic and deleted their posts immediately.

Then, I saw the Mature thread and thought what the hell, I qualify as mature and posted a pic.

Now I put an obnoxious watermark on my photos to discourage respoting. I find that it's pretty easy to tell if a photo belongs to the poster. One way is Google Image search. Some have an obvious watermark from another site. But another is gut feeling. Photos that are just reposted from the net usually don't have any sort of conversation in the thread. There is no back story or personality to the photos.

I much prefer when people post their own photos. It's more fun that way!

On people posting pics that are not theirs.

People posting such pics are not always apologetic and continue to do so when it is pointed out by pm that people are aware they are not pics of them.
At least until publicly approached on their thread.
Then after that I have endured abusive remarks for simply pointing out a truth and providing proof by both the person posting these pics and their fans.

To be honest this surprised me. I can't believe I was so naive.

Funny how that one worked out and how things had become increasingly blatant. Even more so with the back history of previous forum postings doing the same on other sites. Still I guess all's forgiven and forgotten now. FWIW you exposed an uncomfortable truth that I believe embarrassed more then the pic poster. Or at least for a little while anyway.

And now a new thread has come about and the pathetic guys are back to praising "her" beauty.

I guess some don't care if it's real or not. Just so long as it's naked.

I can see why the above posters have that pet peeves, especially since they do post pics.

I have the opposite pet peeve, or I did when I had my PMs turned on, guys would PM me saying "wow you are so hot!" and when I would say "The AV is not me...I don't share pics". They would get all pissy.

Hello! It says in my sig line that the AV is not me, Hello! It says in my profile that I don't share/post pics.

Is it my fault that these people struggle with reading comprehension?!

I had one guy PM me saying "Nice try! I know that AV is Amy Lee (my old AV) from Evanescence not you!"

Hello! See sig line and profile, jackass. I wasn't trying to pass myself off as Amy Lee...for fucksake!

*whew! I feel better...thanks! haha*

If there was a like button there would be a call, quite reasonably, for a dislike button. Let the button wars begin. :D

It is not reasonable to have a dislike button - all buttons should be positive and life affirming. I shall cease to post titty shots if there is a risk someone can dislike at the touch of a button...

AlliaPotestas... I belong to forum on another site. It is the same format as this. There is a "thanks" button below each post. People click the "thanks" button if they like the post.

Old habits die hard. Every time I see a post I like, I automatically go to click the thanks button!

I wish there was one here. It is a good way to let others know you like their post.

I don't really advocate having either, but I disagree with your stance that everything should be positive, there is definitely a place for negativity (have you read some of the posts on the GB?)

I think it unlikely that your "titty shots" as you call them would attract many "dislikes". It would likely be someone with mental problems, given that we all have an inbuilt rooting instinct, which tends to make us look on them favourably. That's not to say there aren't a few mental cases viewing the threads.

If someone likes something, or doesn't for that matter, it is easy enough to comment either in the open on the thread or discreetly by PM.
