Pink Orchid 2024: Story Event for Women-Centric Erotica - Official Support Thread

@Omenainen: I was re-reading something I wrote a while back which never got beyond a beginning, but now I wonder whether or not it might suit Pink Orchid.
The reason I think it might not fit is that it's about Disney Princesses, including a mermaid.
I'm pretty sure Literotica specifically bans characters from the Disney children's movies, even if they're canonically over 18, along with Harry Potter and Simpsons characters.

However, some Disney films use characters from older stories and those seem to be permitted subject to the usual age rules. So you could probably use Aladdin but calling his princess Jasmine might be a problem since the first time Aladdin's paired with "Princess Jasmine" is in the Disney film.

I also just found this about Sleeping Beauty, "A hundred years pass before a prince spies the castle, hidden among trees, brambles, and thorns." So she was at least 116 when her movie was released.

Still with the body and mind of a 16-year-old, which I suspect would be the deciding factor here.

OTOH, if it wasn't specifically the Disney version of Sleeping Beauty, it might pass if she's 18 before she falls asleep.

I recently saw a story about Judy Hopps in the Celebrity section, she’s a Disney character. Maybe I’ll try sexy Gargoyles one of these days. We’ll see.

Yow... where'd you find that? Funny AF but, yikes there are some tortured lyrics in that song.

And not to quibble, but no gargoyles appeared in the video. By definition a gargoyle is a water spout. Otherwise they're called Grotesques. Though Notre Dame has both :)

The YouTube random autoplay pulled it up a few months back, and my brain filed it away in a drawer labelled "sexy gargoyles".

Valid! Sadly I didn't have any anatomically correct gargoyle songs at hand, so this will have to do until something better comes along.

Just checking, we need to wait until January to submit if we want to be included in the list published in March, right? I see people talking about submitting already and it's such a temptation to follow them.

Don't listen to me, I'm an idiot.

I don’t think we’ve had the event announcement yet? Better wait for that for instructions, and then publish in January or February with the correct magic words on the note to admin field. That’s how you get on the list that will be published in March. Anything labeled Pink Orchid will turn up in tag searches at any time of course.

I don't want to come off bitchy, at least not in this thread, but I've got to say I get a bit perturbed by people who want to submit event entries weeks or even months ahead of the official event windows. Events are meant to be just that; events, something special and of limited duration. When people start tagging stories for an event so far ahead, to me, they are just exploiting, not really participating in, the event.

Kind of, but this is different because my secret motive is to take over this site and have all stories be pink orchid stories eventually 😁

I have some grace for it because, on the one hand, last year the event ran from November to February, and on the other hand, I wrote my entry in October. I'm chomping at the bit to unleash it on the world already.

I understand the feeling, and I recognize that Pink Orchid previously had an unusually long open window, but this is becoming commonplace with events and contests. People are going to do what they do, but I think in the long run it detracts from and diminishes the events.

I still do have an unusually long posting window, though not quite as long as last year. I thought it would make sense because the theme of the event is so general that stories posted in many other events and competitions can easily fit in this one too. Last year felt kind of too long for me, so this time it’s shorter, and who knows what I’ll do the next time. Having the list post on International Women’s Day makes sense, so maybe I’ll just do February. I think what’s detracting from the events is the sheer amount of them, but I’m not willing to give mine up, because I think this is easily the most important 😁 (I might be biased.)

OTOH, some people are just really bad at scheduling and impatient, rather than trying to game anything.

(it's me, I'm talking about me)

I'm just hoping I can get something finished, but I'm no longer holding my breath. I need the longest window possible for a deadline, because I'm always starting "side projects", and the deadline will be upon me like a train in a tunnel.

That's why I posted a 750 word story last month instead of waiting for the event next year (maybe it wouldn't have been so excoriated).

For what it's worth, I was searching for something completely different in the story section yesterday and I came across Bob the Builder fanfiction.

My first reaction was 'You can't publish that', and then I was all  actually technically you can

Plenty of female agency in my stories, so I’m probably safe if this happens. Readers are encouraged to review my stories and let me know if there’s any doubt in their minds regarding this. If you succeed in your takeover please let me know. Thx.

Me too. I prefer my female characters to be sexy in mind and attitude as well as in body.* If anything, it's my male characters who become lust objects for the women. (Possibly because life would have been much easier for me when I was young if women had just told me what they wanted, instead of letting my clueless self try to figure it out.)

* I might have mentioned once or twice that I'm married to a redhead.

After fidgeting with my entry at least one time to many, I am now no longer convinced that the latest 'rendition' is the best one. 😖 But I think it will have to suffice. If it does poorly, then my Valentine's story might also work with a Pink Orchid sticker on it.

I guess I should start writing mine. Ugh. I think I’ll do a sequel to my Lesbian-Incest-Masturbation triptych from a while back. A five way lesbian orgy. It’s flowing best right now and has enough female agency in play. Or is a little male agency okay too?

If yes, I’ll go with the original plan and do the origin story for my incestuous foster sisters who in fact have a high chance of the same mother per the DNA test their adopted father receives at the end of the story (he decides to go with the 2% chance otherwise so he can accept them being together as a lesbian couple that occasionally invites guys in for play, lol). Same characters appear in two of my stories on Lit for sexual activity. Sisters Next Door and Pool Hustle if anyone’s interested. ;)
