Pink Orchid 2026: Story Event for Women-Centric Erotica - Official Support Thread

I'm 9.2K words into a story which I'll wait and polish to post in February.

I know, you're thinking: "Oh my gawd, not Lifestyle66 AGAIN!"

But I think you might like this one better than the others.

Mine is taking shape. I’m feeling confident that I’ll have it done by deadline 😄

How are others doing? Maybe we’ve finally reached the point where no one has any trouble writing women, when there’s so little action in this thread.
I want to finish "Mage & Moonshadow" first, but it is next on my to-do list. I hope that I find some inspiration soon!

I'm making slow progress, but I sure hope I get it done by February. I like writing from a woman's vantage point. I think that is true for about 3/4 of my stories.

😄 At least you’re trying! Props for that.

Insp insp insp!

Mine is a mess and likely to miss the deadline. Damn winter stories had me running 🤷🏼‍♀️

There’s still time! I’m glad I got my going. I was worried for a while there.

I fully understand that not everyone will have something for my event, for one reason or another, but I’d be embarrassed if I didn’t have a story in myself.

One of my holiday stories Widow's Fire could easily have been a Pink Orchid story, were it not for the Christmas theme. Now I have to come up with a decent P.O. story before Spring.

@Omenainen i have a question, though it might be rhetorical I wanted to seek your clarity for my story idea for the event.

I have a protagonist which I am building a mini-series around, to tease readers and to set up the series, I am introducing her in the 750-word Challenge. Would chapter 2, where she really takes on her own and truly controls her sexuality fit the context of the Pink Orchid theme?

Although she is mostly in charge now, but she really takes control of things in chapters 2 and beyond. What are your thoughts?

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking? Most premises and themes can be written in a way that either does or doesn’t fit the event, so it’s difficult to say without the context of the actual story. Chapters of ongoing work are permitted in the event, unlike site contests, so in that regard it’s all good. I’d say that even if she wasn’t fully in control (whatever that means), as long as she makes sense as a character, it sounds like a fit.

Apologies for the miswritten message but thank you I will plan on this story and perhaps another. Thanks

This may be an incredibly stupid question. My only excuse is that I've never engaged with either contests or challenges on Lit before.

Am I correct in my assumption that the spirit of the challenge is that we submit something written for the challenge? In other words, if I have a story that fits the bill, but it was drafted before the challenge was announced, is it ineligible even if it's as-yet-unpublished?

Pink Orchid is not an official contest. It's just a showcase for stories that meet a few loose criteria. Any story you have that might fit the bill, and which is not already currently posted on Lit, is likely a good fit. If you're at all concerned about it, you're welcome to ask either @Omenainen or myself to beta read it.

Oh cool! Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give it some more thought. I'd love to write something new, but health circumstances are intervening.

Well, no. Stories that are submitted in February with the correct notes to admin will be on the event story list. As long as it has sensible women, or at least one, you’re good.

Welcome along!

And now I finished my first draft! Such synchronicity. I’m really pleased with myself right now. Can’t wait to publish it, but also I’m very happy I got it done in good time before the deadline.

This will be my first story in LW, so that’ll be exciting 😄

Mine is an older piece that was never published here so began going through it and doing some tweaking.

It can go in fetish where I think it would fare better as far as response and score

But it could go in LW and will send them frothing and bombing.

Hmmm decisions decisions.

I got a sudden impulse to write a gay story this challenge. (Off course with a strong female character who makes it happen). As for sex, she won't participate for sure, but may be she can watch or organize...

Damn... me and my stupid brain. Not all impulses are worth pursuing...

I have a plot ready with a domestic abuse victim wife taking over the control... this would be dark tale with lot's of blood.
