Plot Bunny Pens

Introducing: Kinkshifter

A being that shifts to whatever kink is their partner's innermost desire. Oftentimes, turning into something their partner didn't even realize was their deepest, secretest, innermost kink. Weirdly cathartic, deeply unsettling, or maybe, just maybe, a little bit of both? Mommy dominatrix. Anthro. Tentacle monster. Human pet play.

How distressing is it for the kinkshifter? Do they just accept what they are? Do they charge people for therapeudic kinkage? Help people realize who they really are? A revelation, or an abomination? And what happens when their ability to control it goes on the fritz?

(Puffs up a bit at being called both young and brilliant, despite being neither.)
Aside from the shapeshifting, this is kind of the premise of the Star Trek episode "The Perfect Mate".

Which is in turn parodied rather famously by Futurama, with a shapeshifter.
Both of those are news to me. But I'm a 150-million-year-old dino bird, so I am excused from knowing mammal culture from the last 50 years. That's like less than an eye-blink for me at this point.

not sure whether this is enough to be a plot bunny, or is still just characters huntng wery wery quietly for a plot bunny, so posting in both threads:

As I lay there in my lonely bed, suspended between sleep and waking, I had a dream about a young prince being seduced by his mother, the Dowager Queen. A few disjointed images of very steamy kinky sex was all that I got. The effort of trying to figure out the plot, and push the sex along, just made me fully awake. So this is all I ended up with.

Not sure whether the MC Prince is the heir to the throne, or the younger brother of the heir apparent. Of course, if Mom is the Dowager Queen, Dad the King must be dead, so why isn't the Prince the king? Maybe that's part of the plot. Maybe it takes place in that gap when the royal councillors are debating succession?

It can't be because the Prince is too young, since he is eighteen of course, in this Literotica approved fictional kingdom.

Possible plot points would be rivalry between the brothers. Maybe Mom trying to seduce both sons- does she plan to pick the better lover to be the new King, or to back whichever one resists being seduced? Is there some sort of sex related angle involving the Council testing the princes?

That's as far as I got.

Physical descriptions fuzzy, so feel free to vary. What I got was that:

Mom is a "full figured gal", as in hefty, lots of boobs and hips. A pile of grey hair. a ruddy complexion. Maybe a bit of booze on her breath? A lusty babe in her day, and still DTF. name unknown. Queen Gertrude comes to mind, but is that too Hamlet?

The Prince is a classic blond hero, tall, but not too tall, athletically built- broad shoulders, triangle torso down to slim hips. Or is he a scrawny bookish sort, allowing the villainish Evil Brother to be tall dark and handsome?

Prince Hal for the hero, and Richard for the brother would be very Shakespearean. Too much so?

Feel free to use and modify as you wish. To have added this to my long list of potential ideas, but it is well down the list. Even if I ever get around to writing it, different versions are cool.

If you do build upon this, I'd love a notification and a link to the published story. A credit such as "inspired by..." or "based upon..." would be great.

Maybe our UK friends can put a finer point on this.

My limited understanding is that once you are seated on the throne, if a pretender shows up who should have trumped your claim to the throne, they can only do so by violence, and they might decide that either for the good of the people or geopolitics that they will not challenge your rein. But it could put them and their children in line ahead of your offspring.

In some cases that would make them a target for assassination, or having your children married off secure a treaty with a potential enemy. Does their continued survival speak to the character of the Dowager Queen or to the bond with the pretender? Maybe an older sibling. Or a first love.

It's going to be a tricky time window for a widow to procreate with her own adult offspring. By the rules of the site she must be almost 37 at the time of the story, and for credulity closer to 39. Tick fucking tock.

An older sibling who died, orphaning children, whom you adopted as your own, perhaps because your husband was infertile, could work, as long as you were brought up in The Line of Succession by marrying the king, or the sister died before the throne was vacated.

All that said, do you want Habsburgs? Because this is how you get Habsburgs.

I had not gone as far as the motivation, so had not considered pregnsncy as the goal. Could be an interesting twist.

Or maybe she's the king's second queen, the first having died in childbirth.

Or maybe like George VI, someone in line really did not want to be king and is all too happy to let someone slip the queue without dying to do so.

But a sudden unexpected, hopefully violent, death is such a great inciting incident!

I believe if it's part of the backstory, and not mentioned beyond mere numbers, it'd actually not be a violation of Lit rules. Merely saying that he's 18 and she's 32 or even that she gave birth to him at 14 or whatever wouldn't be sexualizing her previous, underage pregnancy. Especially in a historical context, where girls, especially of the nobility, were routinely married off and bore offspring at those ages, it wouldn't be out of place at all, in my opinion.

Then again, some writers may prefer not to wade into waters that even questionably border on site rules for fear of drifting too far and getting in trouble.

If he's the younger brother, then his older brother became King when their father died, and he remains a Prince (with one current exception...)

Currently there's a list of succession in order with about 1500 names on it, basically all the legit descendants of Sophia of Hannover who haven't become or married Catholics nor renounced their position for themselves and/or their heirs (or had it renounced for them, in the case of a current exception). If someone turned up claiming DNA proved they were high up on the list, the Government and Royals would politely tell them to foxtrot oscar.

Alternatively the King could still be alive but too unwell to reign, so our prince or elder siblings could be a Regent, while the Queen isn't technically a dowager yet but is in all but name. Or the King has vanished, presumed dead? Perhaps the prince's uncle, the king's younger brother, usurped the throne when the prince was young and now the prince needs support from the Moot/Thing/Parliament to reclaim his throne (insert Prince Caspian fanfic here)...

Twin brothers. There's debate about succession

Go all Greek myth here, Thebes, the children of Oedipus ( I know, they weren't twins), but you could play off that a bit, make it a template.

It doesn't necessarily need to be the UK. I think I suggested that it be a fictional kingdom.
The incapacitated king is a nice twist.
