Maine has an entrenched incumbent who has withstood Democratic landslides before, and Michigan is an open seat in a state where the last two Senate elections were nailbiters. To expect them to be "locks for the Democratic Party" is just plain silly.

Collins is definitely the ultimate political chameleon, just MAGA friendly enough not to get primaried, just centrist enough to be palatable to the swing voters of Maine. Platner probably sank Team Blue for good this cycle.

As for Rogers, he’s persistent as fuck, I’ll give him that. He’s arguably closer to winning this time than last, and only because El Fayed is vulnerable to attacks due to unforced errors. He will probably still lose, due to Detroit and the national mood. But Detroit is usually what saves Democrats in close statewide elections. Rural Michigan by itself would be a red state through and through. Detroit alone keeps it purple or blue.

Tariffs are working. Investment in U.S. manufacturing is happening. We have a robust fast growing economy supported by high consumer demand. Foreign capital flows back into the U.S. TO BUY stocks and treasury bonds.
