Question about Pending short story

I submitted short story for publication (around 2000 words) two days ago and it was approved almost immediately - within seconds - and set to be published a few days later. I went back and re-edited, also leaving a note for admins, and it's been stuck in pending for over 22 hours now. Is it because of the note? I left that note because I was worried it will get mixed in by mistake with the main series I'm writing.

Edits can take weeks to be approved, they're much lower priority than initial story submissions.

Does it count if it's a new story that was approved and with a set future publish date, but I moved it back to pending so I could make changes? Wouldn't it still technically be a new story?

The changes still have to be reassessed by Laurel, it's at the back of the queue now and not high priority.

If people could do what you did without their edits being checked, they could maliciously add links to spam/scams, change the story to contain rule-breaking content, etc.

Solved it by deleting and submitting as new story again. It took less than 7 hours to be approved.
