Hey Everyone,

I read "I've edited my story and want to replace the published version with a new edit. How do I do that?"

Link: https://www.literotica.com/faq/publishing/editing-published-work

I resubmitted it on Feb 12 and it was in pending status and then around a month later it was deleted. So, I check and the story was the original and not the updated/corrected story. I had to resubmit it on March 8 and it again is still in pending status as of today. I did a ticket/bug request and included my email address and no response.

Has anyone else experience this problem?

Thanks,
Kam

Edits are low priority, and routinely take a month to go through. Unfortunately, finally 'going through' means it disappears from your pending list but does not immediately become the live file. It takes another delay - I think a day or two is usual - for the new, accepted version to replace the old one. So for a while it looks as if your edit has just disappeared.

Ok, thanks. When it disappears, I will check it daily to see if the new version replaces the old. I don't remember how many days after it disappeared that I resubmitted the edited version since the original was still active. So I will wait longer to see what happens. Thanks again.

I am experiencing the delay tight now with my story Maddy on the Move Pt. 02. It's pretty unsatisfactory really.

With hindsight, it might have been quicker to delete it and resubmit as a new story, though I believe even getting a story deleted is fraught with difficulty.

To relay some known Literotica history, not to defend it or provide commentary on it: Processing edited stories is their lowest priority. If you’re lucky, it’ll get done eventually. If unlucky, it gets lost in the shuffle.

After about a two week lapse, send a private message to username Laurel. Cross fingers. If you lurk a bit or search for “delay” and similar things, you’ll find hundreds of similar questions posted.

Good luck!

Same issue though I'm only 3 weeks in. The story published was incomplete. Following the same directions. What is the thought on submitting the story that published for deletion and resubmitting as the complete text?

Hipocrites: Same situation. The full story is c.10k words and the last 3k were missing. It's vexing, but I guess I'll just continue with the series and hope it gets straightened out in the end.

Hi Jsmiam,

I resubmitted it on 3/9 so it has been a month. I sent an email to Laurel. I now await with fingers and toes crossed. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.

I also have an edited story in my 'Pending' box for over a month. I might try messaging Laurel if it's still unpublished in another fortnight, but it'd be nice to know if it hasn't been lost in the shuffle.

Hey Kopinov,

Hopefully your story can keep my story company in the Pending box. So far mine has been in pending since 3/8 and this was the second time, I submitted it.

Good luck,
Kam

I also was in that boat. The first time I submitted was early-march. After 2 weeks nothing so I edited and resubmitted waited 2 weeks. Then nothing. Finally deleted the stories (after saving them locally). I will try resubmitting in a month or so. It seems once a story is inactive in the pending folder, editing and resubmitting does nothing. Hopefully removing it from the CMS database and trying again in a couple of weeks will work.
