Yup, you're right...no exception for anyone.

One thing though, I'm the only Mod here so every request will have to come to me.
That's true. There could be one other person though, the one who posts the list. They could edit their own post just like you could, so you could both modify the list.

Right?

That makes perfect sense. And it means that LadyC isn't stuck doing all the crappy work. Just half of the crappy work. :D

Yes you're right...but if we leave the list "open" instead of "closing" it than anyone can post inane things in the "green list".

That's why my idea was to "close" the thread once the list is built....and....wait I have an idea.

Yeah the green list thread is "closed"....but....but.....the request to be included on the list could be sent either to me or...somebody else...then when the editor has been checked out....I edit the thread to include his/her name.

What do you think?

ETA: You're all making me type so fast to answer everything...I make type-o

Oh, you can't edit your post once it's closed? I didn't know that.

I'm not sure what's wrong with people posting in the thread, but your was seems logical and workable as well. If you want to do all of that work

Is that like jell-o only with letters?

Doing something so the EF works fine and WE at Lit get the best editing possible is my next calling in life. :p

Seriously, it's not that much work if you think about it. Once the thread is closed, the only person who can change anything is the Mod, receiving the vetting requests and checking them out is not that much work either.

Two person can easily do that.

The problem with an open thread is that the list will get lost among all the posts of people who want to join the list, people who want to comment on the list, people who want to comment on editors or authors, people looking for help or advice .... it becomes messy very quickly.

If the thread is closed (limit the access to one or two gatekeepers) and that list is "stickied" so it stays at the top of the forum, it will remain valid and easy to read. Kind of like Laurel's contest posts.

If you want me to, definitely.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. Closed thread and made as a sticky. That way it's easily accessible.

Fight it over with the other and if you all agree...yeah I'd work with you in a heartbeat.

Rogue: YOU, my dear, will have the job of creating the template for the green list, posting it and making sure I'm online when you post it so I can close it as soon as posted.

I can lend a hand from time to time if you are swamped in real life or for the initial set up period (which could be a bit busy).

Okay

*gets into fighting stance*
oh... that's not what you meant, was it?

Seriously though, I'd love to do it, so if anyone minds...speak now! (spank now works too)

Too late handsome (you ARE a guy aren't you? ) You gave the idea, you build it and create it. :D

Yeah you are. Heck of a lot more than I am.

Now, get to it! *snaps whip* (if you're into that sort of thing... if not, I can kiss you nicely :p )

I can offer both for the special price of one... but you have to decide now!

I wasn't so sure either. That's really funny, the more I think about it :D

Of course "crazy" is a compliment. What passes for "sanity" in this world is a truly horrible neighborhood in which nobody should linger.

Crap .... it's the name, right?

I'm *not* a guy  .... and the movie in the poster in my AV is one of my favourites ... very influential in my early adult life. Interpret it as you will. :catroar:

Why do you think I'm a guy?!?!?!? <pout>
